The Wonderful World of The Wonderful 101
GameSpot's Tom Mc Shea gets a hands on look at The Wonderful 101 on the WiiU
this game could'nt look any less lame, just because it looks like something that a little kid should be playing.
This game is what pretty much sold my day 1 purchase of the Wii U. I bought it to compliment my PS4 purchase. Nintendo is hurting in a bad way (in terms of sales and such), but they do focus on fun and enjoyable games for there system. This game is unique (only other game that it's like is another nintendo game), and still fun to play.
Nintendo may not make the best platform decisions, but they are kings of software. I think it would be wise for any serious gamer to allow the creation and growth of these type of games to add to their gaming options.
Played the demo of this today, it does remind me of pikmin, except much faster paced, and a lot more action...there's even fruit and vegetables among other things to collect! :D
The controls were fine to me both touchscreen and using the right stick to make the shapes, making combos to take down enemies was rather satisfying, or deploying different unite forms at the same time, by pressing X after making a form.
The games looks fantastic, runs fluidly and provides challenging enemies to fight, making use of each different unite form to help take certain enemies down.
Obviously the demo only gives you a short portion of the game to try, and from what they've shown us there's much more to see.
Day 1 purchase for me for sure.
So you bought a wii U thinking it was gonna be next gen and have all the hardcore games but all you get is these stupid 1st party kiddie games ? If u having game problems I feel bad for you son.I got 99 problems but a Wii U ain't one.
I had almost zero interest in this game apart from it being a Wii U exclusive until I played the demo and I loved it!! It's so unique and uses the gamepad really well!
A very nice surprise
Wow, I think I might actually use my Wii u!Looks awesome, as I would expect from the team behind Bayonetta.
Looks awesome. One of the few games I want to play on the WiiU. Still can't justify a purchase though. Maybe in a few years when the prices fall.
Awesome, I'm super psyched for the Wonderful 101!!
Looks great and again proves Platinum is the only 3rd party dev for Wii U worth caring about.
First....excelent PS3 exclusive game ad before this WiiU exclusive game vídeo.
Second it is really great to see Nintendo releasing new IP.
I'm still not sold in the WiiU but as a old Nintendo fan I keep looking for a reason to buy it. Hopefully by this time next year it has a decent library of new and classic titles that motivates me to invest on it....unless I already did it on PS4 and X1...let's see.
@rockgod44 Play the demo, I thought it looked too "kiddish" at first too.
Do you have a big mustache kid ?
@Sun-Tzu-GE COUGH* Bayonetta 2 cough*! X cough *! watch dogs
@Sun-Tzu-GE You've got a lot of problems!
@Sun-Tzu-GE The Wonderful 101 isn't intended for kids. If you can't get past the aesthetic then that's really sad. I'm so happy that I don't need blood in every game I play, I'm so happy I can look past something as superficial as something looking "kiddie" and actually enjoy the game. I hope you have fun with Call of Duty and all the other generic shooters.
@Juxhe1 'quite honestly aint the any new ideas in those nintendo offices?'.........
*Switches on PS3 and plays CoD, GT5, GoW 3, Uncharted 3 and Killzone 3*
@Juxhe1 Nintendo didn't make this game, Platinum did, and I can almost promise it'll be better than Pikmin(and I like Pikmin). The director of this game made games like Viewtiful Joe, Okami, and Bayonetta. Nothing to say this game won't live up to those.
@amdreallyfast Yeah, it looks like he's a man on a mission.
@rushiosan I think this game and pikmin 3 will give the Wii u a slight boost in sales and get potential buyers to at least consider the system in the future.
@AttackOfTheCat Just played the demo through a couple of times. Pre ordered straight away. This game is far more deep than I thought it would be.
@AttackOfTheCat i felt the exact same way as u, seem some trailers and didnt really it looked all that great but man was i wrong. great fun gameplay. Really looking foward to this now.
@Xristophoros Too bad that you're gonna miss out on everything. I'm purchasing The Wonderful 101 at launch, plug in the AC adapter on my GamePad, and play the game.
@Xristophoros I'm not sure how low you need it to go, but you may not have long to wait. A bunch of Target stores in Canada we're selling the Basic model at $149 the last week or so. It wasn't advertised but the word spread and a lot of people got one. Also Walmart Canada had it on sale (maybe still) for $199.
@number004 Just played it. It's fantastic.
@ANUBISZER0 Totally agree we miss you joe!!!! action go go baby!!!!
@oldschoolvandal get adblock for chrome .....there are no ads on the internet
@mexicangordo lol, get a room you two ;P
@wcwj26 Why are you mad at me ? It's not my fault Nintendo and its games suck ...
@GreenReuben Stop living in denial. It's not healthy.
@wcwj26 You are not making a point, nintendo is the king of repeated IPs. But anyway i think this game maight be good, I liked the first pikmin.
@dstv My ignorance is now clear for the world to see...I never heard of such liberating feature!! Will do that right now!! Thanks!!
@Sun-Tzu-GE Na, you're just talking shit mate.
Anyway, good luck with whatever console your parents can afford to stump up. I'll be enjoying the full WiiU/PS4/X1 awesomeness come christmas, Ciao!
@wcwj26 You're really slow mentally if you didn't get what it means. No wonder you bought a wii U.
@wcwj26 And they always defend the only thing that they have even if it's a stupid kiddie game.
@Sun-Tzu-GE So you can't afford it then. No wonder you bitter haha
Little children always hate what they can't have!
@wcwj26 Can't afford to waste my time with ? Yeah ;)
