For those crying foul over "racism" in this game, stay away from Japanese anime/gaming culture. It stereotypes EVERYTHING!
Not sure what I thought this was, but seeing this turns me off. Annoying voice acting alone is reason enough to pass on it.
If it had more 3rd party support, the Wii U would definitely be my console of choice for this generation. Its sad to see that big companies like Bethesda are just writing it off. The first party titles will of course be great, but I would definitely miss the next elder scrolls or fallout if I got the Wii U, which is really one of the major reasons why I haven't picked one up yet.
I tell you guys, it's picking up big time for the big N.
I was on the verge the other day of selling my Wii U simply because of the depressing press stories (yeah I know, I should have known better but the hive mind began to kick in).
Instead I thought, well I've made an investment so ill invest a little more before I discard the Wii U experience. So I digitally downloaded and with a grimace on my face purchased a wii remote plus and nunchuk for the optimal performance. Cost about 40 quid, not pretty.
But I tell you what I don't give a damn about that cash now, I could piss double that away in an evening. Pikmin 3 is next gen, I have not had an experience like it for quite a while, even better I can lie in my slob position on the settee and the response of the controls are still accurate (something I do worry about Kinnect being able to achieve, but I do hope).
Now The Wonderful 101 is on it's way and my 30% discount on top I am living cloud Nintendo.
The devs of this game are smart. They chose to make their game for Wii U knowing that not a lot of games are on the system. So many people with a Wii U are going to be getting the game because of this.
I downloaded the Demo, US got it already and it is bad ass. Innovative, different and great graphics. Can't wait!!!!!!!
Great games for Wii U coming now: Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101, and i'm waiting for Sonic, Mario and Donkey Kong.
Have to say, this is one of the most incredibly fresh games in such a long time. Saw the new trailer on Nintendo Direct and now I'm 100% sold
Now if the WII-U could come up with 4-5 interesting games like this, it would be worth the purchase for sure.
what I got was Wonderful 101 will be release September 15, Wonderful 101 will be release September 15, Wonderful 101 will be release September 15, Wonderful 101 will be release September 15, and Wonderful 101 will be release September 15. Geeze talk about over doing it.
Going to be a great time owning wii u and ps4, and a pc with steam to make things affordable. (thanks steam)
This game is making me seriously think about buying a WiiU! I think they can bring the main guy as the character for the next Super Smash Bros, and have them like pikmin, where they are around the main guy and use the moves just like this game!
Holy fk this game is awesome.
Way to go Platinum and Nintendo ^^.
And No, Platinum didn't sellout for those bias fools...I am thankful they now have a second breath to make such amazing titles as this.
Reminds me of Power Rangers + Pokemon + Pikmin + God of War O.o?!?
Could they have shown anymore of the game!!! My god! that was no trailer, it was a big time spoiler!
This is exactly the kind of game people keep asking about: new ip, creative and unusual setting, distinct art style, innovative gameplay, this game has it all!
As someone said a few comments under this one, "this game has cult classic written all over it".
And yet, many aren't paying any attention to it, because, despite our clamor for innovative and original games, most people just want the newest flavor available of Battlefield/Gears of War/God of War/Call of Duty/GTA/Random-Bethesda-Game. *Sighs*
@raduz123 Big deal, get over it and stop looking for racism where there is none.
@sworcery Really? cuz i think it looks awesome, just another game im notching onto what i wanna play on the WiiU when i finally get one.
@Tadgerot I understant you. I pick up a WiiU 2 weeks ago and I discover something more refreshing then I tought. Wonderful101 demo was over the top and bring a lot of new gameplay elements. Of course Nintendo is not violent and "In your face" like the other consoles but it can execute well some good games mechanics. Feel pretty fresh after the dozens of run and gun third person shooter I played on 360 and PS3.
@CBN16 or Maybe is because Nintendo is funding the game.
@CBN16 Well said...Master Chief -_-
@CBN16 That's an interesting point.
@Decaplayer33 I did the same and we're on the same page. Its brillant. I like the recuiting citizens part. Its ridiculous: you're fat, or a kid, or a business guy, or a house wife hanging down the street...Bang... you're in the Wonderline now and I can use you has a weapon. It feel like a mashup of Pikmin, Viewful Joe and Katamari.
@OldKye I c what u did there ;)
@bluedeathkingYeah, that also annoyed me. As did the stiffness of Hideki Kamiya. The game, however, looks very, very good and unique..
@Elaisse Not a big fan of steam (not too fond of Digital Only) but PS4 and Wii U compliment each other nicely. Cheers
@alrepairs The combat reminds me of Bayonetta, challenging but fun at the same time.
@jflkdjs Since when is explaining the game mechanics a spoiler?
Exactly, I saw a comment on youtube for this game saying that if this game doesn't sell well, then people have NO RIGHT to complain for new IPs or unique games.
@snxx Don't be negative, bro! I agree though, it has it all. That's why I just pre ordered it.
@19James89 @raduz123 I didn't say it was racist I said it was stereotypical and it clearly is there hence the black colour being associated to the black character who's dialogue, styling and actions represent hip-hop culture which originated predominately within black communities you gimp. It's not necessarily bad but neither is a little diversification.
@Prime_28 @alrepairs Yeah, the combat is what actually reminded me of God of War.
Instead of dodge being triggered with the right analog direction (God of War)...we have to dodge with Left Analog direction + R trigger.
The demo was fucking incredible on normal mode...and it's the first where I actually died, focused....which doesn't happen on any console demo for me.
@Glongold So justifying racist stereotypes makes it cool becuz you dont have to think about it? el oh el
@raduz123 So what? They stereotyped all major heroes present. Wonder Yellow. Russian. Weapon Hammer, as in Sickle and Hammer of the Russian flag. Street Fighter did/does the exact samething. This is hardly the kind of game to make say a Inuit hip-hop/mathematician character, a French military strategist (zing!) character, a native american shinobi/chemist. or whatever. Sometimes its easier to just convey some basic stereotypes for sake of focusing on the greater goal which is gameplay. Why? Because you don't have to think about it. My other examples however you do have to think and it starts to detract from the basic premise of the game. Here you're not reveling in how the Intuit became a hip-hop mathematician, you only want to to Unite moves and smash enemies. You don't need interesting background, flavor how-to stories. Not every games to make a bold (every character is super unique and special and gender bending and whatever) Its............a.............game.......
@raduz123 You're looking for something which isn't there. There is no stereotyping present.
