Liked the first, wasn't too keen on the second, but Wild Hunt has a couple of my thumbs up... Kudos to CD Projekt Red for the amount of effort they seem to have put in.
I enjoyed playing Witcher 2 & look forward with greater anticipation for W3. If W3 plays as well as it looks with good character skill tree choices, combat mechanics, etc. & such a massive environment... What's to hate about that? CD Projekt forking out that much of an area to explore I've gotta commend their generosity. Only wish CD Projekt's other title Cyberpunk 2033 had a earlier release date than a suspected 2015.
This will be the ultimate game when it's released. CD Projekt are forward thinkers & extremely talented.
I hope developing Geralt's abilities will be easier by just killing wild enemies instead of quest exp, I want to train myself with optional hunts and be well "prepared" for the main story. Anyway Witcher 3 and DS2....2014 has some heavyweights....
If it is really possible for this game to combine the strengths of The Witcher, Skyrim, and maybe a little Dark Souls, it could become the Holy Grail gaming / RPGs.
Thank you for being entertaining and exciting, just watched the Rome 2 video and the gameplay was awesome however the interview was extremely poorly done. Show him your ways of loving life kevin!
So if we took this literally, the size (in GB) would be: 22,5gb (enhanced edition) x 35 = 787.5 GB That will broke the world record for biggest game size ever. What's the biggest single game size right now? is it max payne at 27GB?
I hope it would still be $60 cause who knows how many blu-ray disc it would take? Or if you're going digital, enjoy your game after a week of download.
Looks amazing visually. 35 times the size of witcher 2...wow, it's hard to imagine a game so epic in scale.
that's amazing, witcher 2 had the exact potential to translate into an open world game, not doing that was the only thing that held it back from realizing its true potential, witcher 3 makes sure that we get all out of it. so i am definitely looking forward to it. the horse riding, the sailing, the exploration, that's all one could want in a game like witcher.
I actually got bored playing the Witcher 2 and didn't finish it. Hopefully an open world version will be more captivating.
Although if this is 35 times bigger and a couldn't finish the last one then... problematic.
I have only one thing to say.... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
as I played witcher 1 and 2 i kept saying:
man wish skyrim had such an intriguing story and where every action I do has amazing consequences ahead....and I wish witcher was bigger and had more skills, weapons, and armor and stuff......
sadly the open worldness of TES never met the OMFG awesomeness of story telling and choices that actually matter...
but now a god is being born from the prayers of all players in the world this god will be an open world WITH ACTUAL MATURE CONTENT AND CHOICES THAT MATTER.
truly this is great news
witcher easily became one of my favorite franchise ever. can't wait to play this. also it's so sad to see this will be our last adventure with The White Wolf :'(
if they pull the setting back a few hundred years when witcher is a more common profession, maybe...
@Exia2004 I quit the first one after a few hours, finished second one 2 times...so what's up? everybody prefers different things, no need to hear your life story...
@Melubb For me Elder Scrolls is boring... I tried to play skyrim and oblivion... couldn't get into it...
@Melubb You have no idea what you're talking about. If this is dull and boring, then, graphics-wise and story-wise, skyrim is nothing. And besides, they compared the openworldness, nothing else.
@airkanonclannad The next gen consoles will probably have between 20-50 gigs per game. triple A titles. Not including indie.
@airkanonclannad Seriously are you that retarded?
@spideyj08 My first objective in W3 is to go fishing & hope to find a mermaid. Might even take a quick dip in the ocean to cool off!
If the Pacific Ocean had mermaids, I'd sure as hell have a serious thoughts of changing my career path!! rofl
@Diablo-B Really? Do you typically enjoy RPGs? Witcher 2 was one of the best in recent memory.
@Diablo-B Wticher 2 was one of the best games that year. It was AMAZING. this game has the opportunity to topple games like Elder Scrolls.
@vadagar1 true. you can't compare the awesomeness of W1/2/3? to the tedium and blahness of TES.
@redder1111 Every game, movie or novel has to move on at some point in time! Otherwise it sullies the memory of why it was so loved to begin with. IF however the writer is capable enough, they could create a continuation of the story line by way of making one of the other lead characters in the plot take on a hero role in future games, Geralt's love life was rather active after all. I'd love to play a sexy female love-child (witcher like abilities of course). She could swing towards even seeking him out & trying to destroy him & oppose some/all his moral/immoral choices. All for the revenge of being a bastard child.
@Sushiglutton This and Mirror's Edge 2... amn, I never been so psyched in a long time over new games.... and the new Smash Brother with Megaman and the sequel to Xenoblade, X!
@inaka_rob @Diablo-B It could topple TES although Im not one of those who look at TES as the greatest game of all time. However, I feel that the modding community makes TES great. Without all the mods The Witcher would be better then it IMO.
@Diablo-B I didn't like the 2nd Witcher as much as the first (I've played 1st many times). If you've not played the first (PCexclusive) then you should try it. I don't know what platform you use/prefer, but if you're used to PC/m-kb the 2nd Witcher will feel a bit frustrating, it was the first to be included on console and you can tell the character control was with a controller in mind, felt very 'hap-hazard' with m/kb.
@Diablo-B Mods definately save Skyrim. Without the mods, the vanilla version is just an empty shell of a game. Skyrim could get boring much quicker if not for the mods. Since you brought up mods, if you spend any real time on Steam, I'm sure you've noticed how many games are now going to the Steam WorkShop and allowing modders to make free content for games and it's really taken off; Steam sells both Witcher games and probably will the 3rd as well, I hope Cdpr includes Witcher3 on the SteamWorkshop, that would be awesome to have endless content for that game.
