Pikmin and W101 looks amazing, and I want to buy Wii party U to play with my nieces and sisters, we will have so much fun doing goofy stuff!!! :)
Wow that Wonderful 101 game looks really fun, the design is so cool and creative. I totally need to save up for the Wii U. Wii Party looks like a fun game to play in college with drinks. I really enjoy Nintendo games because they're fun and challenging but have sparks of imagination with the design and gameplay.
I'm kind of sick of games that are basically interactive movies that don't really require you to challenge yourself. I'd rather choose Captain Olimar over a big gruff Space Marine any day.
After all of the negative articles from Tom McShea its finally nice to see him sounding positive and excited about Nintendo games.
A "serious" gamer wouldn't pass up the opportunity to play a game just because it appears "kid friendly", nor would they sit there slagging off other consoles pointlessly - They would embrace all games - Its about having fun at the end of the day. I love a diverse range of games - if something is genuinely good, then its worth playing surely?
Funny the so called "mature gamers" because they play "mature games" with realistic themes and realistic graphics. You people are boring, lack of imagination like the shhity consoles you play with.
I am NINTENDO fan boy, proud to be one. The big N doesn't need to prove shhit to microsoft or sony or the "mature gamers".
what's the definition of a serious gamer? I thought we played video games to have some fun... and most of nintendo's games are FUN
Nintendo serves a separate and distinct audience that Sony and Microsoft currently ignore. That includes - kids under 14, fans of their series and more casual gamers. I don't believe they are dead yet, but they need to get more games on the shelves to go with the Wii U console. Definitely agree they should have had more games year 1 or waited to put out a more advanced console that launched with more games. That was a major blunder and it remains to be seen if they recover.
It's great how nintendo isn't even mentioned in the console wars. They aren't even considered a viable competitor. They are going the way of Sega and it can't happen soon enough.
Wii U will be the "kid's choice" console of this Holiday season. Really lacking in games so far, but they are on the way!
Some comments here are really sad, there are people that really think that hardcore games = photorealistc shooters/action games.
That "Call of Duty" generation...
me want a wii u, but wii u is driving me away, with region lock and account not tied to games. me hating nintendo so much now.
Crap. I don't have money for all this. I had decided to count out Wii Party U and Wonderful 101 to save money, and I tried to avoid all information on Wii Party U because I knew I would want it the moment I saw it. I have now been corrupted. Must find a way to get those two titles too! :(
Well Imma go play on my Wii U now, I just did all of my homework and took care of all my stuff. Time for BLOPS2!
Games I'll be buying for my Wii U: Bayonetta 2, X, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, The Wonderful 101, Super Mario 3D, Rayman Legends, Watchdogs, Zelda Windwaker, Pikmin 3, Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros., Batman Origins, Deux Ex, Sonic: lost Worlds, Yarn Yoshi. I might also buy Wii U Party, since these kind of games are fun during the holidays and everyone enjoys it.
The Wii U is going to outsell the ps4 and Xbone this holiday with all this games, besides there´s still a lot good games coming out for ps3 and xbox 360, why move to the so called next-gen with just a few exclusives?, i will wait for a good bundle next year with more games to choose from.
I am glad i purchased the Wii U day one. Cause now i can get next gen systems, and still get Wii U games that i can be more selective on.
@luigiGatekeeper Pikmin 3, especially! I missed out on Pikmin on the Gamecube, I am not about to make the same mistake twice.
@megafitch <-----smartest guy in the room
@Dimitri_Canavis Nintendo also beat the pants off Microsoft and Sony with a 'vastly inferior console', of course anyone with an ounce of intelligence knows specifications mean diddly squat, it's all about having fun and no one does that better than Nintendo.
@el_marto2003 Serious gamers appear to be ones who spend most of their day playing an FPS multiplayer with a turtle beach headset on.
@SteveMcD01 I'm positive that they'll recover. They realise they've scored a massive own goal and that is why they're bringing out their big titles and that is why I'm getting a Wii U.
@vatorus Just because you don't like Nintendo, you want to see it close down and cease to exist? What sort of mangled thinking is that? Go and play your Xbox one or your PS4 and leave people to enjoy playing a Nintendo.
@vatorus It is sad how you can actually expect this to happen. Without Nintendo the videogame industry will be a dull grey world full of shooters. Don't you see how they inject new ideas each gen and, thanks to them is why Sony and MS are still trying?
@MindwalkerX Most of the supposed to be gamers, are so as a Michael Bay fan it´s an "hardcore" cinephile.
@64-bit The upside is Nintendo has no DRM, No subscription for Online, and no restrictions on buying and selling used games.
@64-bit i dont mind the region lock. But yeah, the account-game infrastructure is pretty frustrating...
@Tio_gamer BWAAHAHHAHAHAHAH The Wii U will outsel the X1?!?!? Nintendo is not even mentioned when talkking about the console wars, tehy are not even considerd a competitor, not in teh same league. Nintendo is not relevant anymore buddy, they are dying a slow death and it can't happen fast enough
@Tio_gamer "The Wii U is going to outsell the ps4 and Xbone this holiday" . Dream my friend!!! dream!!! ps4 and Ps1 already pre-order more than Wiiu sells until the end of the year!!!
@g1rldraco7 Same here. I would save more money for buying the Wii U or until this Black Friday.
@IanNottinghamX the thing is, I'm a gamer and I have been for neigh on 20 years now. I'm 29 years old and I find the attitudes on a lot of communities are splintered over pathetic brand loyalties and cynical viewpoints where cutesy graphics and simple straightforward gameplay is ridiculed in favour of ultra-gritty, violent and profane gaming experiences. You can have fun with any game as long as it as I've already said, is fun!
I'm currently playing through The Last of Us and I'm loving it, potentially my favourite game of this generation. But on the other hand I also play games like Cod, WoW, Mario, Sonic - Hell, I'm even considering buying Pokemon X/Y when they're released because I enjoy them! People really need to get a grip and grow up. Games are for escapism and fun, and whilst theres always people who think "serious gaming" is for people who just sink relentless hours into CoD/BF and visceral shooters and RPGS, I would say a serious gamer is somebody who can ignore falling into that trap and enjoy games no matter what they are. There isn't much I wouldn't at least try to play if I'm perfectly honest..
@enrique_marrodz @vatorus Sony and MS would try without nintendo b/c they would still compete woth each other. Nintendo games are great if you're 5 years old. Their games have not grown up with the rest of the industry. Their hadware are just toys, not consoles.
They may have introduced motion control, but where is the killer motion control must play? There isn't any and there never will be. It's a gimmick, like all of Nintendo's "innovstion".
@vatorus @Tio_gamer something all gamers should know by now, "never understimate nintendo" and the impact of the family friendly and platform games which xbone and ps4 have none. who knows there could be a price cut or something already planned with a much better marketing. They´re not going to surrender that easily...
@javalino @Tio_gamer He is right actually. The WiiU already has a 3.45 million lead over the PS4 and Xbox One. It remains to be seen how the two new systems will perform but the thing is WiiU is getting some first party exclusives in the form of Pikmin 3, Mario World, Donkey Kong, and possibly Mario Kart for holiday. And Smash Bros beyond that as well as Windwaker HD as well as third party titles like Splinter Cell Blacklist, Assassin's Creed Black Flag, Batman Arkham Origins, Deus Ex, Watchdogs, Bayonetta 2, Sonic Lost Worlds etc.
The problem PS4 and Xbox One will face is that a large majority of the 'exclusives' coming to those platforms are also coming to PS3, 360, PC etc. So these big titles like Watchdogs, Assassin's Creed, Batman, Metal Gear V, Battlefield can all be found on PS3 or 360. Many gamers who already own one of the aforementioned consoles are not going to shell out 300-400 dollars for a new system to play a game when they can play said game on a system they already own.
The WiiU launch wasn't actually that bad as far as launches go. It had a decent variety and selection of some big name games even if some of those were ports but it had far more titles than the Wii had at launch. WiiU had its own share of ports of older games at its launch and is now getting new titles that aren't mere ports. Its getting its true original first party games in the coming months and that is something Sony and Microsoft will both have to do before sales of those respective systems will take off also. You may see a high quantity of pre-orders right now but WiiU pre-orders were all sold out too remember.
@javalino @Tio_gamer I don´t dream is a fact that console launches sucks, most of the games are multiplatform and that includes ps3, xbox 360, PC and even the Wii U. Sorry but knack is not a console seller and Titanfall is also coming to PC. If i recall the Wii U also sold out when it was released and then came the storm.
@vatorus I like Nintendo because they craft fun experiences - I couldn't care if its an existing or new I.P, as long as it plays great thats all that matters! I grew up playing Playstation and Sega too, as well as pc games!
I don't think I've ever stopped gaming at any point, possibly late teenage years into me 20's but thats about it lol! I did drop off the radar with console gaming for a long while after discovering WoW though ^_^
@vatorusGreat if you're Five years old? Sorry but I'm pushing thirty and I still play Nintendo titles. I won't fall prey of brand loyalty and consistently whinge about other platforms - as long as the games I'm playing are great, then I'll play them....and I'm sorry but most things Nintendo are great! each system has their own unique titles which make owning each one attractive to consumers. I've grew up on Nintendo, Sega and Sony, and currently own all Current generation machines - but I find myself playing my wii U more than my PS3 and Xbox360 these days. I only use my PS3 at the moment to play TLoU, and thats about it atm!
