Ignore the haters Johnny I really like this show. It’s a good space to share similar forms of entertainment in the build up to an awesome release. It really helps get you in "the mood" and I've picked up a few good films/games I wouldn't have seen/played otherwise. Keep em coming man!
Beings that aren't human that may or may not know they're human? A la Battlestar Galactica? What about Blade Runner?
as if there isnt enough crap outhere that would kill the time ... and this game
stop the madness, freak.face.spot
Apparently Johnny never actually played Mass Effect 3. In the game I played my choices had zero effect on the ending, 'cept for picking what color the galactic wide explosion was. He even says it's the "final" installment, even when EA said months ago that there will be a ME4. *sigh* Another example of someone promoting a game they never played and know nothing about.
How did the X-Files, with its Alien-Human hybrids bred by a shadowy government group to secretly colonize the world, not make the list?
Though I guess if you watched them all it'd probably keep you going until the next XCOM game.
How many shows does this guy do? Every time I visit here, there's a big ass picture of him smiling at me.
I'm curious as to how Johnny is going to check whether he is a cylon or not
Unless Gamespot has a stockpile of uranium and carbon nanotubes lying around, in which case we should probably be worried
for those looking for a very good Strategy game similar to X-com try Aarklash: Legacy. It's not a true turn based game but you can pause it to give orders to your guys.
This is a really awful idea for a show... Can it end soon so something entertaining or useful could be made instead?
Would you have more "turn-based strategy games" recommendations? I am kinda dry in the matter on the PC.
Shadowrun felt ridiculously shallow after Xcom unfortunately, and it didn't really have many RPG elements, save for the skill tree.
Fire Emblem is a surprisingly close fit to XCOM, think FFtactics and XCOM merged together. I'd highly recommend the GBA versions, which are, imo, old enough that you shouldn't feel bad about using an emulated copy. DS and 3DS versions are even better though.
@DrowNoble I know it's no excuse, since Bioware sold the series saying that all your actions would matter in the end. But if you think, this is partialy right. Specially for all the crew members. In the other hand, the only shitty ending is for Shepard him/herself, that I agree, it's a "Which door you choose".
But again, never forget that your decisions change drastically which crew member lives, dies, and the conclusion of their story arc.
I believe I didn't hate the ending since KOTOR2 has a similar thing: Kinda shows what happened to all the others because of your actions. I believe Fallout 3 is similar in that point too, right?
@DrowNoble Or he just played it after they updated the ending. At least in my game i got a short epilogue thingie with nice pictures and nods to my choices on the genophage and stuff like that.
As for "the final installement in the trilogy" would you react the same way if someone said Return of the King was the final installement in the lotr trilogy? There has been another film since set in the same universe after all.
People seriously need to get over the fact that Mass Effect 3 wasn't the life changing experience they were hoping for. It was still an ok game. Seems like it can't be mentioned on the internet without someone going into attack mode
@barrybarryk That's why we have a comment section! :-D Thanks for the tip. I watched a lot of X-Files back in the day, but surely I haven't seen them all.
@DiverseGamer Two. This one and Feedbackula.
@Arisboch Looks awesome thx for the tip!
@PedantaPsych If enough people stop watching, it'll go away...
@meatz666 Well the choices I made in ME1 and 2 did affect people. In ME3 it there was little effect. Cure Genophage or not? Irrelevant since game ends the same and you don't see the krogan again after that.
KOTOR2 was not Bioware, it was done by Obsidian. What I remember reading from back then, LucasArts wanted a sequel asap since KOTOR was so successful but Bioware said "sorry we're doing Jade Empire next, go call Obisidian".
@Freedomination @DrowNoble The "updated" ending? That... added a 4th Everyone Dies So We Showed You How Bad Things Could of Been ending So You'll Stop Complaining About Our Pre-determined Endings? That one? ;)
I would react the same way if Tolkien said "LOTR is a trilogy" then EA bought the licensing from him and said "we're having another author write book 4 isnt that great?" Bioware obviously had outlines for the story, that EA is now mucking up.
People need to get over that Bioware misled people knowingly about ME3. They are in denial. That fallout probably spilled over into SWTOR causing the sudden drop in subs too.
