June 2009, hell, it's already been that long? Wondering if it's too late to try this, if I would be wasting time better spent in newer games. From watching this review and that of Sims Medieval, only now, I realize I should've tried this rather than aforementioned other one.
Might look up on all the expansions however. The Sims may be a controversial series that shamelessly leaves content out of the original to purposely cash in on expansions, but whatever the case, maybe some of the latest deliver not only extra content but also visual improvements, for instance.
Just got this for 10 bucks. Still waiting for it to download. I'm hoping the jobs pay enough that I dont ruin the game by using cheats, cuz once you start cheating you cant stop you want eveything right away and eventually gets dull.
This game is rubbish and the reviewer is a fool for giving it a 9. I played this game for 6 hours for the first time today and it was absolutely crap, it was my first sims game and never again will I play it. Absolute rubbish.
Hmmm...a 9, really? I don't really like this game. I find that the Sims 2 is better in many ways. Oh well.
I downloaded this game off of Direct2Drive.com and it is so freakin' fun! Amazing! I'm going to get all the expansion packs to it!
@dracothekitty: I totally agree with you, when my sims died I was sooo sad, the game really sucks you in, amazing game, great review!!
hes right, it will make u care about them i refused to play the game for 2 weeks because my sim died lol
@keith21uk Why the hell did you get thumbs down for asking an honest question? I would say it is really worth buying if you have the time to put into it because you WILL get addicted to it. (And thats a fact) :P
@kasun01 Kind of a storyline, but you don't have to follow it if you don't want to. Its what you make it :)
The should have kept The Sims Online and made The Sims 2 Online and The Sims 3 Online and not get rid of any of them!
They really havent made this an online experience yet? They are really missing a great feature there....
There is only one word to describe this game and that is "EPIC". If this was a massive multiplayer online game with millions of other players playing in the same instant, where players can meet, chat, play mini-games and check out each others homes; just like a social network, than this will take the Sims to the next level. THUMBS UP if you agree.
Checked for a steam page for The Sims 3, out of curiosity. There is one. Apparently it sells there... for 45€. That's rather... sigh, shameless. With the expansions costing between 20 to 40€. Or DLCs, as it were... listed as such, on the page. Holy Hell, they number 17 so far, with a total price of 520€. This is pretty much what I meant when I mentioned the controversy. So much fame and popular this series enjoys, but among those that steer clear, it's outright hated. Not so much for what it just is, but the commercial practices EA employs on it. Like VanOrd implied, this game appeals to both gamers and non-gamers, chalking it up to simply put the casual gamer audience. A very big audience, and to take advantage of that in this way... just shameless.
