on of my favorite games ever they need to do 1+2 hd followed by 3 to finish the storry. could do with being multi plat though as fans of both sega and shenmue are split between xbox one wii u and ps 4
Oh man, this game looks sooo good for its time! Yeah, the world isn't as "open" as you see nowadays with games like GTA or Sleeping Dogs, but remember Doibuta is a small japanese town (that's why Ryo knows pretty much everyone), you're walking in streets that have no car traffic. But the town seems alive with shops and people working and going about their lives, even if the NPC dialogue is a not extensive. Graphically, I think it's amazing as well.
As pretty much as always, the translations and voice acting in the english version are pretty bad. Ok, I know some japanese, but even those who don't will appreciate how much more natural the japanese voice acting sounds. Check this out here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHMLu5FZ7Jk
It would be amazing if these japanese games were released with the original japanese voices as an option. It also lends a much more authentic feel to the setting, which is heavily imbued in culture.
It's interesting to note that because in japanese you usually use much more words and syllables to say stuff than in english, in the english translation people speak very slow and seem dumb, because they had to fill that "speak time" with much less words.
Great game, the graphics still look brilliant even for a 14 year old game. Dreamcast is still the greatest console
Nothing has changed since I worked with you. Still looking for sailors when you should be working...
@il_capitano Disagree. Shenmue 1 was slower paced, but that was part of what made it different. It had a better atmosphere, more attention to detail, a better part time job, training your moves, the cassette player, and just felt more carefully crafted than 2. Shenmue 2 is still an amazing game, and yes it's more exciting and has a better story.
@il_capitano 100% agree, Shenmue 2 was my favourite gaming experience from the Dreamcast, its so much better than the first its ridiculous
@RoOhDiNi i would love that as i have wii u. or if they put it on xbox one as i plan to get that to, but wii u would be good for me. woiuld be a boost for wii u to i think if it happened
@luisdaobese Yeah...I remember seeing Dreamcast and feeling stupid for thinking we couldn't get better than PS1 and N64...
