Kevin VanOrd enters The Secret World to see what has been happening and what lies ahead for the now Free to Play MMO from Funcom.
Did you enjoy this video?
I'll buy it if the drop the price to $19.99
If only this would have been free to play from the beginning, even pay to win, I would have convinced myself into giving it a try. Now I'm just too lazy. Just like with Star Wars The Old Republic.
I liked this game while I played it but simply didn't have time for an MMORPG. I wanted to play other games and they were hard to fit in. I think they need to up the investigative quests even more to make it an even more unique MMORPG.
I could tell that this one was eventually going free to play, I really think the age of subscription based mmos is over and now that funcom have come to their senses I'll be glad to spend some time in the secret world...I might even spend some money on in game goodies if it's interesting enough.
it a lot more interesting now...
The game is okay, worth the $30 price tag it has now, at least. Been wanting to pick it back up but decided to wait until it did away with the monthly fees like everybody knew it was. Now I've got another online pc game that I can play when I rage-quit Planetside 2 due to my empire being filled with derp.
This is one of the only MMO's I haven't played. With Rift Storm Legion out I don't think I will have a desire try another MMO for awhile. Hope GameSpot is working on a review for Rift in the near future. Excellent expansion!
I really enjoyed this game. I played it for 2 months but 15$/ mth just wasn't worth it for me. I may pick it up again later... after I finish FC3. Hey what's not to like about zombies??? XD
i see this game and .... i dont know, something doesnt fit
@oflow The Secret World is now $22.49 on Steam until January 5th. Is that close enough for you?
@kaizerG31 are u a troll or somethin'? you keep posting random stuff that is not true at all, spreading missinformation about the game. go do something useful pls.
@xsonicchaos SWTOR does actually go out of its way to screw over the F2P players to force them into becoming P2P. TSW is much more welcoming.
@tmrtyn I wouldn't say it's over. There's just no real justifying it most of the time. The only MMO I ever thought paying a sub for was worth it was EVE because every expansion was free. The only thing they screwed up on was suddenly adding in the cash shop for character aesthetics we aren't really showing off any time soon and the prices being wonky.
@guiplc hellz yeah
@sigmact for me it´s the animation...god...wtf that legs running to the side O_o
@kaizerG31 No "free2play" games are free. Some are even more expensive than subscriber based games, if you want to be competitive anyway. You can play it for free if you want to.
@kaizerG31 This is the same model the original Guild Wars used. Buy the game. Play for free. There's a cash shop for some nifty aesthetic stuff and if you want the expansions you buy them. Mind you these ones are smaller and cheaper. The prices I heard they would use are 5 bucks per mission pack which is considerably cheaper than I've seen CoD map packs which usually bring 3-4 maps.
@kaizerG31 @sigmact You purchase DLC content packs--not missions or updates. Did you, I dunno--listen to this, and read the accompanying article?
@kaizerG31 this comment made me save 15 bucks for the sake of curiosity
@bhmg @sigmact Yeah, I didn't used to mind rough animation in the old days....but most modern games just shouldn't feel that sloppy...it's what turned me off the potentially spectacular Day Z after sinking quite a few hours into it.
@Taffelost like GW2
@Kevin-V @kaizerG31 i did, thats why i said something doesnt fit yet, id say is the gameplay style
