At Sony Showcase 2014, Shaun and Carolyn give their first impressions of The Order: 1886.
Did you enjoy this video?
It's like i'm watching Ryse son of Rome but with guns!
a lot of cinematic during gameplay, amazing graphics and exclusive game.
story sounds like a organization who keep order & peace in the valley.killing monsters & rebel.
Do these guys know about the game, it's just a 2 min demo. let the game come & these guys will shut their mouth.for me this game looks awesome.
You'd have to pay me money to keep listening to that dude's voice. Like finger nails on a chalkboard.
looks really nice! It would have been cool to come to x1 aswell so I could also enjoy it :)
If this game can somehow feel as fresh, instens, and offer similar gameplay as The Last of Us with some new notes/ideas, than it's an instant must have (!)
I would not worry about the gameplay looking lackluster, games like Bioshock Infinite and The Last of Us not so recently proved that barely anybody cares about gameplay quality anymore.
Options within QTE? I guess that is better than having to bash X or rotate the left stick like crazy lol those are really annoying.
Apart from that, it is looking really pretty and that steam gun looks interesting! I hope there will be more exotic weapons.
Imma getting the feels that this is gonna be PS4s Ryse. Facepalm gamemechanics and graphics to die for.
hope it's not 15 hrs of cutscenes and QTEs with some limited gameplay - cos that would not be very good.
The graphics and character models are pretty impressive. Need to see more about other aspects of the game to be able to safely form an opinion.
I believe that I'm not the only one who wants to play the game right now.
those graphics...god dam
truly next gen
QTEs is okay with me, shooter with Gears of war aspect is okay with me, too. 30fps is okay with me, too. All I want is hoping this game will entertain me by the story, ok gameplay with upgrade things (hope that this game isn't repetive), nice visuals and sound. I really don't care about QTEs because most of my favorite game (Uncharted and The Last Of Us - i can only see in youtube, Tomb Raider reboot, Heavy Rain and Beyond 2 souls) has QTEs.
It's unfortunate this is a PS4 exclusive, because I'm interested in this game. Regardless of that, I'm hopeful it doesn't turn out to be a "movie game" where it's played for you (abundant QTE's, cutscenes, etc.).
Good to hear some honest opinions unlike Adam Sessler. Cut scenes constantly interrupt and the gameplay is lacking, thanks guys.
I wasn't interested in this, but seeing it earlier, at least from a visual perspective, I'm intrigued. It looks absolutely fantastic. On the other hand, I'm not entirely surprised by how it looks seeing from what we got at the end of last-gen, like The Last of Us.
never was interested in this... seems none of ps4 exclusives are up my alley... now wondering why I bought the damned thing...
Shaun and Caroyln aren't sold on it yet. NOW I'm intrigued by this game ;-)
Looks like it has content in it. But it's too early to speculate.
At this moment, The Order seems like it has the potential to easily be the Game of the year. Also, has the capability to suck big time.
Oh look QTE and 30fps.
I hope this doesn't end up like Ryse, visually stunning but incredibly dull. Sony have always had the more creative and interesting exclusives. Microsoft tried to break away from shooters and make something with a little bit more thought put into it and came up with Ryse, and we all know how that turned out. Hopefully this doesn't suffer the same fate
I'm excited for this one:)
looks like The Last of Us, with another setting..
but it's good, that it's giving a The Last of Us feeling (TLoU was epcial..), but it's bad, that it's not really feeling fresher than TLoU so far...
(they're probably hodling back with the gameplay footage, hopefully...)
@coolguyhero Breathe for a second, all they were saying is that they didn't see much of the actual game in action, mostly the good visuals.
@Talavaj Just because you don't like it doesn't mean its not good gameplay. Last of Us had great gameplay in my opinion, and I haven't played Bioshock but I've heard a lot of good things about that as well.
first: did you even play the The Last of Us?
second: do you think a game, that's only "looks" not also "gamplay", would win A.I.A.S Game of the Year, and 9 more A.I.A.S award?
third: If you think The Last of Us is laking in gameplay, did you try hard mode (since surivival games are often more tens and evolve on higher settings)
@keyb0red nice username XD
@Brakkyn It's a movie game alright.
So basically, because your view is more in line with theirs, Adam Sessler isn't being honest? Stupid.
@kingcrimson24 People forget that Uncharted had them. I just hope it's not to the David Cage extent.
@wristbreaker Infamous? and if not Uncharted?
@wristbreaker I wonder why people don't understand console, just like PC and most platforms is an invest. You don't necessarily get return from it immediately.
@sammoth Oh look, a proper next gen game.
Sounds like ryse, but in 1080p.
@hammoud Yeah, I agree.
Although these are the same guys that made The God of War series. The first few installments were good, both visually as well as the story aspect. the game play was nice too.
This looks like a shooter mixed with some supernatural survival horror elements. With the right story in place, The Order can be pretty good.
@ninboxstation @Talavaj Game press/reviewers/critics love narrative, often weighing it far above gameplay. So I can definitely imagine a game with poor or even almost no gameplay to become very favoured by them.
However, I looked at the list of AIAS GOTY winners and it's quite varied, they don't seem to favour one genre or element, so with them I'm not as sure it could happen.
I can understand someone's gripes about gameplay being pushed aside though, in general, maybe not specifically in the case of The Last of Us, I haven't played it. There's a big trend towards that. Games that focus less on gameplay and more on art or story have been highly praised in recent years. Such games have often been referred to as being more mature and the direction that gaming should be going. It's undeniable that we have heard a lot of that sort of thing recently.
So, I can understand @Talavaj 's concerns in a general sense, whether or not TLoU belongs in that category. I can say that to me it appears to be less about gameplay, but again I haven't played it.
@NTM23 Errr, Adam Sessler always holds back in giving his true opinions before a game is even out, that's just blatant dishonesty. Shaun and Carolyn just spoke the truth, the gameplay is simply lacking. Plus i haven't played the game like they have so my view is irrelevant.
@rawkstar007 @kingcrimson24 Uncharted didn't have QTE's actually. The set pieces were all tied to the game mechanics. The Tomb Raider reboot had QTE's though, and paled in comparison because of them.
@canuckbiker Ryse isn't a shooter, this is. Anything under 60fps in a shooter is sacrilege.
@canuckbiker If I didn't know any better, I'd swear that Naughty Dog made this game. I see a lot of TLoU and Uncharted mechanics here.
@prats93 u do realise the game wasn’t QA tested and optimized at all, and that there might be problems ?
the games still have a year before coming out
@prats93 I didn't play Uncharted series but I have watched that series in youtube and I have saw a lot of QTE's in the game.
@sammoth Every Halo game in existence bahaha
@sammoth @canuckbiker Ryse is a spectacle fighter, that's even worse. And this isn't an FPS.
