This is a day-one purchase for me when it comes to the US. Smash demands it.

I guess Nintendo is shooting for a big success soon? We'll have to wait and see about that, the older generation of gamers (in my case), will probably not want to go back to hand held consoles (disregarding mobile apps).

Do we really need another 3DS, I dont know one person who uses the 3D feature. Not saying its bad but in my own opinion its a waste of money, the only time I turn on the 3D feature is if theres a cutscene and then i turn it right back off trying to adjust my eyes the entire time to see a short clip.

Saying it's not a game for everyone because there's no slicing through heads makes me cringe. That just proves that the audience they feel they have to cater to is a type that wants blood only. Fantasy Life looks like something that could have come out on the SNES and been a huge hit like Chrono Trigger. Terrible that it's not the same nowadays. :(

The new 3DS announcement just confirms that Nintendo still have no clue how to do hardware. I would rather see them partner with Sony and let them figure out the hardware, Nintendo just focus on the games since Sony seem incapable of that.

So we have a new 3DS which tbh only brings one new thing to the table and that is improved viewing angles on the 3D. Tbh with you, I never use 3D, I hate it, it gives me a headache and I don't know a single person who uses the 3D either.

Then we have a CPU which no developers will use because they have to ensure all their games work on the original 3DS. Sure there will be one or two games like with the DSi, but for the most part it will be useless. They could have bumped up the GPU and used it to increase the screen resolution... but no.

Then we have the extra buttons, which the circle pad pro already did and by the looks of that nub thing, I'd rather use the pad pro as it has a proper stick in the style of the one on the system. The placement of the nub is weird and I don't understand why they've done it, they've moved star and select to the side........ why not keep them at the bottom, move the 4 buttons down to the level of the dpad and then put the same analogue stick on the right on the exact same axis as the one on the left? The design makes no sense.............

The hardware itself isn't the only blunder, the announcement of it just means people wont be buying the original 3DS for Smash Bros and Pokemon this fall, instead they'll wait till 2015. Nintendo better announce soon that it is Japan only until at least fall 2015 or they can expect sales to not be as hot as they could be.

The other reason I'm angry is because I literally bought a 3DS on the day this was announced. I can buy the new one when it comes out, but what about all the game transfers? Nintendo's current system makes it really impossible to get a new system without funking something up.

@gajbutler So basically this all comes down to you buying a 3DS the day it was announced. That's all I heard. I think you're more alone that you think in your opinions because to most fans of Nintendo products, there systems are flawless in design (with a few minor blunders here and there).

@gajbutler Yeah they seem to be incapable of making smart decisions for quite some time now. They design consoles for the casual playerbase yet they have a list of games that are mostly going to be appreciated by hardcores who played nintendo titles growing up, your marios zeldas etc.
