The Gist - 4 Ways Reaper of Souls Will Make Diablo 3 Worth Playing Again
Think Diablo 3 has sucked recently? Think again. The upcoming expansion Reaper of Souls has significantly improved on the RPG experience, and here's how.
Woooow, Diablo 3 got random dungeons and that's so awesome? Well, Torchlight 1 & 2 got that form the start for a much cheaper price and without "always on Internet" nag which has no point in Diablo 3. Ah well, guess for some Diablo 3 is awesome game because Blizzard pays for marketing. Kudos for being subjective.
at 2:40 hes spamming breath of heaven, with no cd...how is that possible ? also, what is the big ae damage hes doing, the red blast pulsing outwards, really huge ae
The game seems better now. Can't wait to play this game. And above all I just got the coupon code of Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls from Cdkeyhouse.com, will get its CD Key at 3% off. Really excited to play this game.
So now GS is cancelling two shows. I'm guessing due to lack of viewership. Well Geniuses, You are not getting views, because nobody knows when the shows are new anymore and people don't go looking for them when you are constantly putting up empty click-bait articles. you have ruined the main page of your site. The list of shows on this page should be on the main page just like it is here, Then in the middle the most recent news NOT the most commented articles that are as much as 5 days old. Then below that have they top 5 most comment articles of the last 48 hours tops. Not this 3 to 5 day old stuff. IF you need me as a consultant my rates are competitive.
All given reasons are valid reasons and why not, the game might actually be better in delivering the fun D3 didn't and that's exactly why this DLC Map Pack is wrong and overpriced.
Those are fixes that were necessary for the first game to matter and to give sense to the game, but disguising a game fix patch as a DLC with a single class and some new game modes, still no PVP but a far away promise (Don't care about it but it was promised to me as a feature that has not yet been delivered and they have fail terribly at it) and pretending offline mode can't be achieve (Sim City just did it after howling at how impossible it was) ... this makes me believe more and more in how poorly we are been seen as a community and how easily hype can make us trow money at games and companies that simply don't care about delivering fun and engaging games but money grinding machines that will give us some fun for a while, if any.
I decided to not buy this game for the above reasons and make a stand against the latest trend in game releases been half done, beta games and so on, early access and things of the sort are ok but this is getting out of control, games with littel QA,unfinished products in hopes of a community patience and fanboyism to sponsor the QA effort and bug fixing process while games are still important have lead us to games like Batman, selling DLC's and ditching game bugs, TESO releasing with missing items, ROME, BF4, D3 launch, Sim City and we can go on and on and on ... why! WHY!
Please take a stand as a community and don't buy this, show them that you are to be respected as a consumer and that no matter how many gorgeous little lassies like Jess (you are hot and I love the accent :p) they send our way we can still make a pause and think about what is happening and what are we really paying with our money!
For those playing the game, I wish you the best fun ever!
Cant wait to play this tonight. Despite what the haters say, the latest patch did make the game wayyy better. I didn't like D3 vanilla after a certain amount of time but I gotta say it's good again.
Let's not forgot how bad D2 was before LOD came out.
As someone who has just begun warming to RPG's over the last couple years, a complex loot system is a great way to bring a sense of strategy to the experience as an augmentation to standard XP and leveling up. Vanquishing a thousand weak enemies to go up a level feels like a chore, but doing it in hopes of scoring a good weapon or item does wonders to keep my interest.
am i the only one who does not need offline ?
i love playing / trading with my clan and friend
see other builds in actions while i play
why so mad vs online ? DRM only? guess i understand that but still...
Right and how much is Blizzard paying you to try and convince people this dumbed down bastardization of Diablo with police state DRM doesnt suck arse?
4 reasons you should not play this game: 1.game suck 2.game sucks 3.game sucks 4.game sucks
"What do I need out of an RPG to stay interested?"
Attractive women (I said attractive, not sexualized).
I played Diablo III for maybe 5 hours max--more Leah in the game. Romance with Leah or some other attractive personality like Ali Hillis, Yvonne Strahovski, or Jess--she's so damn beautiful. And a variety of mage/wizard powers.
If you don't have the money for a hand held, read a book, Carry a book with you are read it. Learn something new. especially if you too many video games already. Video games are most addictive drug on the planet.
Yea just need to add offline mode, the new client has option for offline mode - but games need to be online? so hopefully....tho loot 2.0 & removal of AH already made a better game....Im playing it again. :P
I don't understand the appeal of ARPG's like this.... i have tried all the best ones and tried to like each, since they all look cool, but then you actually play them...and each one you just mindlessly spam click your way to victory....which is just super tedious and repetitive.
Off line is absolutely needed.
Story time ;)
I reinstalled DIII tonight and just got kicked off the server for maintenance. It may only be a 20 min reboot or it could be a 24 hour shut down, I can absolutely accept this in an MMO or even if I was playing multiplayer but I was playing a single player game.
So Diablo 3 apparently stopped sucking, but how does it compare to Path of Exile? Especially since PoE is free and the Diablo expansion is $40 U.S. (holy crap, seriously? for an expansion?!) and thats if you already own Diablo 3.
This expansion is not worth $40. No thanks, I'm not paying almost the full price of a new game for DLC-level content.
@bahamut_au oddly, I thought D3 did all of those quite well?
@BaDMantra The game is so much better now though. Half of the changes came in a free patch about a month ago and they all made D3 vanilla far better.
@bahamut_au Yeah, imagine someone on a video games website saying positive things about a game. Payola can be the only explanation.
@bahamut_au Yeah right.. Why to do that when it's going to sell like hell anyway and for me this is right now when this game gets actually good and enjoyable.
I don't get it. Why complain more and more, when they actually fixed the biggest problem in the game? Got rid of the Auction House.
@carolino Yes, DRM. There's zero advantage for the consumer to be tethered to the internet, particularly as it gives them the ability to block me from playing my game on a whim. I don't want to "license" games, I want to own them.
You don't know how to count. ;P
@GrayFlare I'm with you there!
They see us rolling, they hating! :D
@anab0lic Matter of tastes m8 :)
@anab0lic I'm right there with you, I feel the same way about MMOs as well.
@diego_corleone Keeping you on your toes
@Pawfalcon I play POE. The depth is amazing but the art style and graphics are crap. Combat in D3 is far more fluid.
If you want alot of depth and customization, go POE.
If you want better combat mechanics play D3.
I couldn't get into PoE. Don't know why. However, Diablo III is my favorite game for this genre. The only other game I played as much of for this genre is Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance.
@Pawfalcon I hate how Blizzard keeps their prices high even after a game has been out for ages. So yeah, when you throw $40 DLC on top, even worse :).
@Pawfalcon Totally agree with you...
And given the huge fail that was the first part I even thing that they should give the expansion for free to all the people they disappointed...
No way I'm paying $40 for this...
@Blue-Sky it's practically a whole new game lol.
"Half of the changes came in a free patch about a month ago"
And I bet you it was more to have those curious about the game and DLC to give it a shot and try and raise some hype than to actually correct issues, as there's the marketing hook in the HALF of the changes and the MONTH AGO (sorry for caps, don't know how to bold in this).
To me that's the only reason for it and as I said, mine is mostly a stand against what gaming is turning to lately than saying that the game is rubbish or not, haven't play it, not intending to so I can't say on that regard, all I am doing is pointing out something that I consider wrong and try and share my opinion to those who care to read it and perhaps broaden their view in hopes of a gaming community more aware of what is happening around them and the consequences of allowing it to happen.
Other than that and as I previously state, I wish for those who picked the game a great experience and lots of fun at it!
@tempertress @diego_corleone I think it's for the better. For a show that covers so many different topics it's unnecessary and may even be harmful to have the same number of reasons, games, etc. every episode. Hopefully this change will make The Gist even better than it already is, I actually thought this was one of the best episodes yet, even though I still have no interest in Diablo 3.
