I'm showing my age but being the first of my friends to find the Easter Egg in Atari's Adventure for the 2600 will always have a fond place in my heart.

It was only the game designers or publishers name (it's been a long time so don't flame me if I'm wrong) in a rainbow font but as far as I know it was the first in game Easter Egg.

I always smile when I see the dead assassin in a hay cart on The Witcher 2.

Fallout games have a lot of book and movie references.  One that stands out is from F2, a random encounter with the Bridge Keeper from Monty Python's Holy Grail.  He asks three questions: What is your name? What is your quest? What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen sparrow?

The witcher 2, in the prologue when you find an assassin of the assassin's creed series dead by a destroyed hay cartwheel

I did like the ones in metal gear solid where if you looked at the magazine then talked to your support team snake would appear to be pleasuring himself. The killing seagulls conversation one was funny as well.

Borderlands 2's Minecraft easter egg was pretty funny, but in order for it to really make an impact its best to find it before being spoiled by someone or the internet lol.

Many people don't know this, but in GTA IV special edition there was a crazy looking clown walking around on the streets with a knife, but he very rarely appeared so it was very hard to find him.

I've always loved the one from MGS2 where you take a picture in a certain area and the ghost of Hideo Kojima appears.

My favourite easter egg is in Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon. The whole game is a parody. There is one easter egg in the game where you have to kill the Ninja Turtles in the game, but they just turtles. Somehow the turtles set up traps as you try to find them. It was funny funny.

The Scarab Gun in Halo 2. So many memories trying to coax the banshee down the tunnel and ultimately ending up with it getting stuck

The End is definitely up there =) The Cow level has to be on the list. The other two are good enough but... eh.

Jess can you please do something about your face being on front page everyday since last several months? You have a very attractive face, its just that seeing it everyday on the same spot on the website gives a very static feeling.

Jess, there you go milking the puns again...

My daughter has a Sheba and I could see him being that diabolical.  I don't call him the terrorist for nothing...

The Lost island in Just Cause 2 was pretty cool although it's a shame that they only included to top of the hatch and not the bunker. Oh and don't forget shifty cow from ME1.

I'm surprised the "Snake's Nightmare" mini game in MGS3 isn't mentioned. That was truly weird. I'd also like to mention the Contra Hard Corps secret boss arena which has you fighting a bobble-headed, whip-wielding character named "Simon" which explodes into goldfish while a remixed Castlevania theme plays on in the background. The resulting ending is epic weirdness.

@_Roo_ Ready Player One. Read the book. Great 80's nostalgia.

@empiricaltony89 There's a trophy in 2, "Get caught by Otacon stimulating yourself". Its harder than it sounds, I couldn't make Snake masturbate near the locker for some reason even after following some guides XD

Oh someone already mentioned that...quick think of another...

While on the topic of Elder Scrolls, there are lots to be found in ES games, like M'aiq and Notch's pickaxe

@neowarrior121  I laughed when you go to the rat nest and  you fight rat labs(?) and its an easter egg of the Ninja Turtles. They have the pizzas and their names are similiar and I just enjoyed the mission a lot. Funniest mission so far as I am currently playing it.
