Ambitious. The Templars is a great area to study with conspiracies and such, hopefully they can pull it off or else it'll be a while till "The Templars" will be touched again.

i admit that it does look a bit like AC, but keep in mind that AC doesnt own the crusades or templars. Probably not a very smart setting to choose for marketing reasons tho, since AC is so popular.

this seems like a quick ripoff from ac same moves and everything they are just trying to make a quick buck out of ac's success, by letting you be the opposite side even all the 3 trailers show the exact same footage watch 1 of them u seen all 3 ...wtf

@Panos83 The Illuminati were founded in Bavaria in 1776 over 300 years after the Templars ceased to exist, no relation to the Templars. Baphomet is the name given to an idol the Templars are alleged to worship after confessions from some Templars obtained by torture during the spanish inquisition, those that survived recanted their confessions. The reason why they were tortured was because the King of France accused them of blasphemy, idolotry, homosexuality etc because he owed them money - as they did indeed have an early form of banking. King Philip accused them of all manner of crimes and pressured the Pope to disolve their order and sieze their assets, and the Pope duly obeyed.

@roganth Yeah, I know that my story is cool. At least I'm not ignorant. Yes, templars weren't freemasons with the modern meaning of the word. They were a cult who started this kind of mysticism and heresies and inspired others to continue their work or make similar cults / organizations. Templars were the roots to freemasonry. They created the first banking system and also they were the first who used something similar to today's credit cards. They were powerful. I'll give you some key words to check : Baphomet, illuminati.

@Panos83 cool story bro, but the Freemasons didn't start until the late 16th century and the Templars were around during the 12th - 14th centuries Don't get conspiracy theories confused with history. The King of France had tortured false confessions out of them and had them killed because he owed them money.

@ The Smoj Although, I don't want to start an history discussion here, you're wrong about the templars. The defenders of the temple of Solomon & Christianity thing was their cover. They were a powerful masonic organization / order who managed to gain so much wealth and power that the pope himself and the king of France hunted & executed them, because they were becoming too powerful and independent to control. So, they weren't truly the poor fellow-soldiers of Christ. They were exactly the opposite.

Too many people seem to be getting run of the mill crusaders mixed up with the Templar. The Templar were not murdering, raping and pillaging bandits, they were much more cultured and civilized. Regular crusaders basically used their religion as an excuse to indulge their dark desires and the church sanctioned it because it took care of "Non-Believers". The Templar however were mainly centred around defending pilgrims, who were simply making trips to holy sites and not combatants. In fact many Templar did little or no fighting and were more concerned with administrative tasks.

the templars were the military church order, they were catholic, they didn't kill christians ahah

and what's funny, is that you're confusing simple crusader's that killed every arab people with the templars, the only time that the templars were not true nights was in the time of king richard lion heart, on the holy land, the templars were the only knights that had repect to his enemy, and the were ally to the assassins, assassins creed I it's in the time of war, but the rest of the assassins of the holy land history, the templars were allys of the assassins

nunomaster

assassins creed II it's in the reinasscance, the templars were already dead all long time before the time of ac2

hey budy's that history about the templars killed ezio's family it's fiction man, ahah omg, the templars were all killed by betrayal of pape that was on bankrupt and he couldn't pay the money that the templars gave to many kingdoms

@the22for4, Yea I agree, templars are choobs! They killed just about everybody in real life for no reason. From assassins, to Christians, to Muslims, to regular old farmers, templars murdered anyone who didnt want to accept their way of belief which is actually turned out to be the modern day catholic faith.....Templars, crusaders and all them types that killed in the name of "christ" were all believers in the catholic faith. They were not Christians or muslims or anything like that.....Strange why they did that. Doesn't really make sense. O well, I am still interested in the ratings this game gets. The landscape does look like assassins creed btw too.... :\

Finally a game that looks like it might be going to take a REAL look at the Knights Templar. I was kinda annoyed that they were used as bad guys in the Assassins creed games (Which i like, don't get me wrong). But they were hugely mis-represented. They were founded to protect pilgrims and were actually like a charity orginisation in some ways running one of the earliest forms of a bank. Then when the crusades went badly and the Holy land was lost they were villified and persecuted by the inquisition and framed and used as scapegoats. I am hoping for this to turn out to be a good game but will admit that this trailer doesn't really seem too exciting. I'll keep an eye on this one though.

'Tis a pity, yet another Templar feels the fire...this game is being roasted alive. It reminds me of how people feel about Two Worlds, but some gamers will accept a few foibles for an opportunity to immerse themselves in such an era. For my part, I'm willing to give the Templar some slack...atmosphere may yet emerge from apparent cliches, and the look of the game is not entirely displeasing.

I love this time era and the history of the templars, so I'm really hoping this game will turn out well... Hate to be a troll but yeah, the trailer looks pretty weak. But I still have my hopes up!

haha, looks like some of this game's developers are here voting thumbs-down on all the negative comments. It's too obvious especially for a unknown game without a fan following. :)

@steelhorse02 The studio is hardly unknown. Tropico in particular is quite well known.

Oh man, looks so bad I feel embarrassed for the development team. Hopefully it'll be priced at 5.99$ on steam so I can just play to laugh at it! :P

Assassin's Creed wannabe. Graphics look like they'll suck judging by the rigidness of the characters; stiff and dull. Playing that on top of an overdone topic, you've got one genuine bargain bin game.

Funny how the ending says the truth shall set you free and here I was playing AC believing thats the truth I would be pretty impressed if Altair just pops in with a hidden blade lodged in the neck lool but the game kinda looks..... shallow to me just sayin P.S. I will get 10 dislikes now -.-

WTF??? "That's "hallowed", not "halo-ed" - cripes, already don't want this! Voice actors, director, sound guys....nobody caught that? God knows what they did to the rest of the script, then. Morons.

why do peoples have to make this cooperation Historical context is not an exclusive of ubisoft or any other developer studio plus form what i see this game have other philosophy is not a stealth type of gameplay like AC for others that hate this game cos they are muslim then that's another topic
