The Evil Within Has An Environment Built to Scare
Peter fills Shaun in on the unsettling environment featured in an The Evil Within demo he saw at PAX East 2014.
Frame rate looks bad and eh I am not totally in love with RE like combat. I think this is one of these games where I definitely won't buy it new.
Oh and is this made by Capcom? Eh Capcom how about dealing with GFWL issues and saving people's games they own and maybe you will get some good press from that and maybe I will spend more on your games. EA just announced they will be making sure old BF games will have a home and so we will still get to play our games properly and I told EA that this will get me spending more money on them this year. Do a nice thing and it pays off. If EA can do it you can.
This looks rather bad from animation point of view. The movement looks like it was just ripped from re4 and same model movements and reactions were just copied over. The AI from the first two zombies in the video above (in the red room) was not impressive at all, clunky is more the word.
I wasn't sure who was making this title as I didn't follow it. But with the cheap way of not changing animation from game to game. It was easy to tell it was from Capcom with everything looking closer to the later RE series.
I'm not expecting much from this title just yet, not been impressed with a Capcom title in years. From the preview it's over to a skip or bargain bin for me.
Game looks amazing. Reminds me of like a silent hill/resident evil hybrid. And the gameplay is meant to be slow and like that. It is not a first person shooter lol.
Combat seems like RE 6, but slower paced. Which is fine, I liked RE 6, but I expect The Evil Within to be fear inducing, at least.
@devilzzz1983 It's not made by capcom. opening line "here at the bethesda booth" How exactly did you get capcom from that.
@Kos1c Not made by capcom. listen to the first line of the video.
@MattyTheButcher It is meant to be slower but sometimes in these games the combat gets frustrating and at times unchallenging too.
At least you don't bash zombies with your fists like in RE6.This game is more of a survival horror than a shooter so don't expect the combat to be great
@devilzzz1983 @MattyTheButcher The combat should be frustrating it adds to the fear, same way the awkward fixed camera in the early resident evil games made combat frustrating. When you can't be certain that your bullets are going to do what you want them to you can actually get some adrenline pumping.
