I didn't even know about this until I started looking up the Dragonborn expansion. I thik I'll pass and just wait for Dragonborn.

The only reason for a PC gamer to get this is for future mods that might use something from it that then will require you to have Hearthfire to use the mod.

What's the story about? It won't be interesting if we only need to defend our house from monsters.

Great. Now that I built my house, im gona sit in this chair and stare at these decorations every day instead of exploring. woohoo!

I think it will be fun. I wonder if you can build more than one house?

I think some people expect way too much from a game.  So far Skyrim hasn't failed in giving me 250+ hours of enjoyment and I still have to finish Dawnguard and tons of smaller quests and guild adventures.   Hearthfire is not meant to be a complete "build your very own dream house any way you like" dlc.  If that's what a person wants - get the computer version and take the train to ModCity! ( But, in my opinion, too much modding changes the entire feel and look of a game - it becomes some sort of weird hybrid.)   I am amazed at all of the griping going on!  Be happy that games and gaming were invented and that we've got such beautiful and engrossing games such as ESV:S to fill some of our time.  There is a lot of info out on Hearthfire and if you don't think it will suit you, don't get it.  It's that simple!   But just quit whining about what it "doesn't have" or "can't do" because that type of commenting surely doesn't add to the discussion. (PS3 users:  you DO have something to gripe about!!  I'd be PO'd too if I were in your shoes!!)

I'm pretty sure that the design options are very limited and I pretty sure you can't build it is the way you want and place the stuff where you want

Honestly, the amount of time one spends in a home, this is kind of a waste of time DLC. What is this SkySimCity?

They need to hurry up and do some DLC/expansion pack on the level of Old World Blues for New Vegas or Shivering Isles for Oblivion. Now those are content worth buying!

It's cool, but Ysolda is perfectly happy in our house in Solitude.

Next DLC: Have sex with wife and produce children of your own. Potential in-game hybrid kids!!! PMSL!

I'm pretty excited for this. It'll be pretty cool to build a house. Also, it's nice to see new ingredients, food, and other items. We can finally cook that clam meat we so eagerly harvested.

I love all the people complaining about how this isn't a longer story oriented DLC. Yet they somehow have forgotten that for every Knights of the Nine/ Shivering Isles DLC Oblivion got there was like 3 smaller DLCs just like this in between them.

Remember the Wizard's Tower, the Vile Lair, the Fighter's Stronghold and the Scoundrel's Den? If you do then you already know how Bethesda handles their DLC releases.

Seems like it could be fun and only 400 points but what happened to them releasing less often but larger dlc? O.o

This update should make the game a lot better, i got kinda bored after i finished the main quest but i shouldn't of since there is so much to do in this game as in, side quests, exploring, and everything else, this game is a ton of fun and this update looks like its going to make the game a whole lot better, i hope they put as much ideas from the bethesda crew as they could because they had a lot of good ideas.

im a little disapointed i'd prefer going deeper into the highking story and killing high elves than building a house that i already own every last house in this game so i dont need to spend my money on a new 1... ill probably still get but i have a feeling its going to be as disapointing as the end of darksiders 2 with the same cliffhanger as the first

So this game is slowly turning into Third Person Sims...

I would like more if they allow us to build Castles, Forts, Dungeons and breed dragons instead of raising a family.

LMAO this is the corniest sh!t I have ever seen. I'm a dragon slaying, beer drinking, fire and Ice breatheing basturd. I cut out the hearts of the meek and weak, kill kings and gods alike, and trample on the religions of superstitouse old fools for I am the GOD D8M "DRAGONBORN"............   but in my free time I like to adopt lost lonely orphens and decorate my quant little home while tending to my fish hatchery and garden

@depman1972 why for this pos the options in it is very limit hell the option you get is what wings you want but you can't choose where it goes or the layout/design of it and which at all 3 places where you can build a house the house would pretty much look the same this trailer makes seems to be way better than what it actually is

shadowhunter0
shadowhunter0

@midnight_trashh but the crafting options are very limited all you get to chose is what wings you want and you can't choose where it goes or the layout/design  of if and you don't get to choose where the stuff goes inside the house and all the crafting you do is you gather the resource and then go to a bench and pick what you want from very few options

midnight_trashh
midnight_trashh

@JMcN76 Are you serious you are actually complaining that you can build your own house in Skyrim, and adopt your own child? Dude, seriously, quite your whining, you sound like a little spoiled 14 year old child that crys because he didn't get his lollypop instead he got a 200$ spending money. I for one am happy they are adding this feature in. How many games can you actually build your own house? Not very many. This DLC looks better then the last one they released.

Becomes a Werewolf, Marries a Vampire... Have kids - Half Vampire, Half Lycan; Stronger than BOTH :D

shadowhunter0
shadowhunter0

@midnight_trashh  @JMcN76 you get to build it but you don't really get to design it all you get to do is choose what wings you want you can't choose where they go or the layout of them or the look of them

it isn't has great has you might think
