The B-List - Vanquish
Tyler and Kevin revisit Vanquish and go crazy with 3rd person cover shooting!
I'm confused why are they choosing someone who's bad at games to show how good it is? Then have the one person who has played it to only do the talking. (second vid so far)
The B-list is an unfortunate name for a show that focuses on good (often overlooked) games.
Vanquish was a damn good game. Which is why I'm watching this after I platinumed the game a while back.
I don't understand the people slagging off the "quality" of the game playing in the video. It's a short showcase of the game while having a conversation about it. So what if he didn't upgrade or got killed. the last thing you wnat is in the middle of a showcase he starts opening menus and upgrading. It's not a review its just a video highlighting a game you may have missed.
WOwowowowowo WOW... This guy is absolutly terrible at playing this game! He had no idea what he was doing! Sticks to cover the whole time, hardly moves, and has no idea how to use the boost/ 'bullet time' mechanic.
Go back to playing GOW, ya' moron. Cause that's all you appreciate in a 3rd person shooter apparently. Ass hat.
Kevin! You're killin' me smalls! If you love the game as much as me, and appreciate it for how awesome and innovative it really is... Then do us all a favor and pick up the controller next time. Please!
What has Vinqush to do with the B-List?
ps: I will not watch the video 'cause you guys at Gamespot suck at playing games. Pls hire capable players for your videos >:)
omg so much ammo arround in the ground and he kept somehow having no ammo IN EASY MODE!!! AND THE UPGRADES!!! UPGRADE EVERYWHERE AND HE DIDNT PICK EM UP!!!!
Best action game of 2010 hands down. It's a shame that the singleplayer campaign was too short, the tactical challenges however add some replayability to the game.
It hurts me to see people play it like a cover shooter. Vanquish is supposed to make the most use of the glide feature.
kevin is one of the best in gamespot, the other person is just full of bull, he was talking bull in one of his game "pre order" stuff video.
Superb game great action set pieces bad story but not worst than any other shooter.I would love to see a Bioshock Infinite level storyline with such polished game play. Now that would be a masterpiece for the ages.
at one point one of these critics/journalists/whatever, fired out the phrase "synaptic relationship" which was surprising as previously i had assumed they had the combined i.q of a root vegetable. annoying when people get paid to communicate and are like uuugghhh yeah, like ummm, dude, yeah so like yeah but no uhu and then like ummm some stuff happens which is like ummm yeah cool ummm pass the spliff dude. god they're painful to listen to.
you learn to play vanquish when you play in hard mode, and just you understand what the hell happens on screen... Sam looks like a blender... GREAT GAME!... you guys play like Gears of War (so much time in cover), another great game but... different style.
This game is absolutely one of the most overlooked and under-appreciated games of all time, right along with Bulletstorm. Really an incredible game....
You guys stay to much in cover, plus wen you glide around the map try and shoot enemies, stop gliding from cover t cover.
wen I played this game I finished it in 8 hours and died 80 times on normal, but at least I had fun, it was exciting.
1 rst the point of this game is to not rely to much on cover and zoom around the map shooting things with precision
2cnd the cigarette smoking draws the enemy away from you as the protagonist flicks it a short distance, and the enemies follow heat signals as they are robots.
this is one of the best shooters in the world its so crazy yet requires skill.
Its funny how people have forgotten that this game was made by Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil 4, God Hand, Dino Crisis)
The introduction was completely naff.
"We were thinking about not playing this game because it's very violent and has lots of explosions but then we thought that in times of crisis you should remember the people you love and the *things* you love, and we love videogames sooo..."
That's the lamest thing I've heard in a while.
If he absolutely felt the *need* to justify playing a game on a gaming website he should have cut the crap and said "...but then we thought that's totally ridiculous because if people were really feeling so fragile then they wouldn't have come to a gaming website in the first place, and particularly not to a video about shooting and explosions".
There's being sensitive then there's just being dishonest. You don't need to justify playing a game just because something terrible happened somewhere else that you can't possibly help with.
the story, the music, the bosses, the end stage scores. playing this game made me feel like I'm in an arcade.
I loved this game and Gears, but I don't understand the popularity of Gears but none for Vanquish. I wonder if it's because of the lack of multiplayer.
In single player, I thought Vanquish was better. When you compare to Gears one, which is kind of short and has terrible ai which really shows itself on 'hardcore' mode.
Vanquish, another game I would never have experienced if it wasn't for PS+, really enjoyed the game.
Never played this game, looks pretty good though.
How ´bout playing Syndicate in a future episode, I´d watch that!
Dude I love Vanquish. Seemed like a low budget game, like WarFrame. When you play it though its like a blast of fresh air. It was unique and fun.
If you liked Vanquish try WarFrame. Its beta is free on steam.
Warning has a few glitches but its free ;)
What's up with that sad pile of xboxs in the background? Do you collect all the broken ones?
As I guess there are at least 17 of those, the pile must be almost 5 feet tall!
@gf61 because he represents the average console peasant
@macca366 did you get it anyway?
because it misportrays the possibillities of the game mechanics. its like showing people a bad trailer of a game and it leaves a bad impression on a game that most of the people that played it loved! we gamers hate that ;)now my rant: he plays it like GoW or any other cover shooter for that matter. after getting used to the controlls u can pull off some insane moves and its mich more fluent. also the repeating scenes are kinda great to try out new techniques to take out the enemies. just have to get a bit creative, in the most positive way that is..
btw i agree with the upgrades and ammo part, who gives a shit
haha cannot agree more! have to dissagree on the moron part. i dont know how to play sports games so their fun, and i concider myself to be smart :P
@H4num4n yea i've noticed that too!
Kevin is king of reviews... Please die.
@knight_killer7 I don't think the point of the video was to actually play the game correctly as much as showcase it.
Exactly you don't play this like gears.
Exactly my thoughts, all tho it was a little short and the ending was made with a clear direction of a sequil which never came so that wasn't the best of endings but that aside great game, great fun.
@Carl_Gelin Probably what he's supposed to say. He couldn't really be *more* nervous about it.
