While I love the Monster Hunter series, I wish they'd actually put NEW features in instead of just making expansions and calling them sequels. Features such as a real story mode, a seamless environment, re-worked inventory, character stats, or tons of other things they could do other than adding onto the same system and make an actual sequel.
The best way to save 2D is to not buy 3D games... with no one buying 3D games I'm sure the 3D game developers will stop making 3D games and they will make 2D games again... :)
Um...do any of you really get that it was a joke? like many of the segments from the TGS 2010 Super Show, a parody.
Video games are fun as they are now, now 3D glasses or crap like that, just leave 'em alone, lol. I dont wanna fork over the money to get a 3D TV or anything like that or have to buy something else for my games. i already spent 100s of bucks on a console and then games are way to overpriced..i mean c'mon 50-60 bucks for a game -___-
YEEEAAAHHH!!! Save 2D games.... In fact I just love Resident Evil on Gamecube when its only 2D than its sequel RE5 on PS3
As long as there's a 2D counterpart to everything, things will be ok at least it isn't a mandatory transition so far.
Lol you guys talking about saving 2D when 3D isn't really even out yet, yea there's the 3D thing on the PS3 but there are barely games to use it.
3D games dnt realy intrest me, i dont fancy wearing glasses while playing games then them glasses getting itchy and falling off =/ looking forward to the 3DS though, cos thats 3D without the use of glasses, very intrested in how that works, but i rekon it'll work like them 3D magnets you use to get out of a packet of crisps/chips
well i have an eye stigmatism that prevents me from viewing 3D. Gotta say im kinda jealous of gamers who will be getting the full experience with the new games. I wont be angry until I hear that there wont be support for the basic 2D versions...tell me you can turn of the 3-D in killzone 3.
I'd rather stick with the regular 3D that's been going on for years, rather than the new crud they're coming out with for movies and what not... I'm already sick of this trend -_-
In my opinion 3D has been introduced to soon. The systems these days for the most part have not even taken advantage of 1080P (most games published in 720P), so why are they moving on to 3D? I believe developers need to figure out how to maximize our 2D experience before they move on to 3D (most games don't even have destructible environments). The end result is going to be short 3D games, that no one else can watch unless you have lots of 3D glasses for everyone, and weak 2D games because the money will be pouring in to 3D tech. Yes 3D is the future... but similar to the electric car, there are no fueling stations so this will not take off for a few years leaving true gamers without any real product to satisfy. How frustrating.
I more or less plays 2D games only, it will be more suitable in arcade machine than 3D. Retro City Rampage, Battle Kid: Fortress of Peril, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 ep. 1, VVVVVV, Bit. Trip Runner, Mega man 9, Mega man 10, Banana Nababa and so on.
Metropolis Zone, you've come back to torture me. This looks like the level of challenge I was hoping for in this game, reminiscent of Sonic 2.
All you 3d haters can die. You must have never played the Virtual Boy, the most beloved video game experience of all time.
i was born just as 3d games were coming in but when i began to try out some old snes and genesis games and i can say that 2d are still just as fun as modernised ones
I'm not expert but doesn't 3D cause graphics to suffer? Yes, it actually looks like bullets are flying past you, but that has to take a toll on the graphics engine. I know for a fact, however, that the game in general DOES suffer because of 3D - personally, I'm scared to play a 3D game. I get slight motion sickness from video games, but severe motion sickness from 3D movies, and I can't imagine putting them together would end well...
yes some of the greatest videogames of all time are 2D. But yet some of the best games of all time could be 3D, we won't kno until it hits the mainstream proper. Despite this we need to remeber that 3D is an option and not a necessity.
Some of the best games of all-time are 2D. Some of the best games on the current market are usually 2D. 3D games are nice and all, but I prefer gameplay over stupid 3D graphics anyday.
I've not yet to play or viewed a 3D tv, and i'm just wondering is the 3D the crap you get from the cinema (which alot of people claim is fake 3D) or is it actually Imax 3D with projected images outside the screen. I went to see Toy Story 3 - 3D (non imax) and it just looked like a dark verson of a really Sharp HD screen. I couldn't really tell the difference. Is that the same with the 3D tvs? If it's actually projected 3D images i can see some games looking nice with this and others looking better in 2D.
3D removes more from multimedia experiences than it adds. 3D movie tickets are more expensive than regular tickets. At home you have to buy a new 3DTV to replace the HDTV you just bought. And then there is the issue of glasses. If you don't have glasses, you can't watch or play. Many of the glasses for 3DTVs need power, so you either have to plug in your glasses or buy batteries. And worst of all, the glasses aren't universal; specific glasses only work with their corresponding TV. Your buddies can't bring their glasses from home, so you need to fork over the cash to buy extra pairs for everyone. Even for glassesless 3D, you have to be dead center in order to get the effect. No more looking over your friend's shoulder. Oh, and hope to god you aren't predisposed to motion sickness or headaches. This sounds like a nightmare, all for weird, blue cat-people to shoot arrows into your face or whatever.
3D gets only hyped atm, because sony sells 3D screens. Its a great experience if you play it alone. The only way to apply this to a device which has a future is, placing it on a device only 1 person plays on like handhelds. which is a perfect match. the 3DS 3d slider comes in handy if somebody wanna watch with you. Sony is at the same time pushing the 3D, because they sell the screens / glasses for it. Xbox leaves it behind ( they think its yet again a hype ). Which makes ps3 place on the market only bigger. At the end, party games the 3D just doesn't work. Its great how nintendo implanted it on the 3DS. and i'm basicly waiting for a tv screen that enables 3D without the need of glasses. Then its probably worth it. Anyway, i dont like 2D, i never did. i did liked the 2D screens with 3D games behind it. But i serieusly do not like full 2D games. For me the 3D is interresting, i just wanna experience something new and exciting. I will buy the 3DS, but not the ps3 version of it. i just cant be arsed to replace my hd screen with alot expensiver version, while i love my hd screen already. and wear glasses at the same time. anyway. 2d will be around for a while.
This may have been meant as comedy but like all good comedy there is a bit of truth to it. When we were all still playing games in SD and HDTV's started making their splash nobody really questioned the logic of HD consoles. HD was and is the future. Most people myself included have finally bought their first HDTV so the prospect of going back out to by a 3D capable TV seems idiotic. 3D is a gimmick, I've never seen Avatar in 3D and I don't want to. every film I see where they ask if I want a 3D ticket I always decline 3D because I'm not dumb enough to pay more just for a headache. It's hard to knock Sony for pushing 3D though because they are one of the ones making 3D TV's I'm not into the 3D movement as much as I'm not into motion controls. they are both gimmicks. When we develop holograms like what Star Wars has or a Holodeck like Star Trek, that's when I'd be all about this kind of tech but if the Government has their way we may not ever get that far......
ironic a game media website that hypes the living crap out of 3d games all of a sudden wants to preserve 2d games when they barely gave such games coverage? And look at the game magazines this month pretty much all of them have Halo on the cover, is that really needed? you have only yourself to blame for the decline in 2d games.
I love how in the opening moments of the video the cameraman holds a pair of 3d glasses up to his camera lens.
2D Games were the best and are the best.2D Games will never die as long is Mario and true gamers are out there.
@Gamer999000 Why exactly would I be jealous of people who have 3D? I'm not a sad keeping-up-with the-jones' kind of guy. I just think it's another in a long line of rip-offs by electronics companies. Give it another couple of years and there'll be something "better", becoming the new "must-have" technology. What people don't realize is that the technology of tomorrow was already in development before they even considered releasing the technology of today. Companies just release things in installments because if they brought out the best they can do then they would be missing out on huge profit made from people upgrading every couple of years. oh, and the glasses look like a total hassle.
3 dimensional graphics concept an interesting idea. But I prefer 2d over 3d in the long run. Mainly because 2d is comfortable over long periods of time. Plus your friends or family cannot enjoy watching unless they too have glasses. I'd rather save my money for more games....Not an expensive 3d tv. Just my option.
@Gamer999000 Who said anything about being jealous? I'm not bashing 3D I just dont think its the future, your talking like an immature kid, calling me a fanboy,go to sleep the adults are talking I'm happy for 3D,I'm happy for sony, don't attack me for your own fanboyish reasons
@Oozyrat - well said :) Personally I'm looking forward to 3D and think it's here to stay as an added feature. It's defintiely considerably more interesting than the "motion control" fad. However 3D won't become mainstream at it's current price, I'd definitely consider a 3D TV for my next one if it didn't cost twice as much as a normal TV (for the base same specs)
I'm never going to buy a 3D TV no matter what. If companies think that even 70% of gamers are going to buy a 3D TV they're wrong. I've only stumbled upon a few comments that said that they are going to get a 3D TV and tons that said they weren't. 3D is pretty much a fad. I am however looking forward to the 3DS, but you don't need glasses and has a great selection of games coming out, plus it has the ability to turn off the 3D, so I'm pretty much sold on that :3.
@GTCarlson 1.I know that already I'm just not too sure that 3D is the future 2.don't change the subject I never said anything about Move, the control doesn't matter, its the games, move's smooth controls are the same as wii's motion plus so they are the same, don't compare even if you own both. it doesnt matter, the controls are the same only the games matter
