any1 know the artist of this song??...or just artists in general who do this kinda chillax trans techno song. songs lyk the mirrors edge theme or stuff lyk tat....i wanna find some. send me mail in my user inbox =)
the first came out 3 years ago, the second will come next year, almost 4 years after its predecessor, so only two games...BUT GREAT ONES... at a four year distance...without a doubt this will be a killer for NFS franchise despite that are only two games
seriously people if you have to choose between this and NFS hot pursuit what would it be? for me i'll s*** on this one and go for NFS because it's not a matter of question to me anyways
@ Zooner1399 TDU1 was a relative failure because of it's poor implementation and complete lack of support - At least on the PC. The graphics were "nice", but nothing more. The island repeated itself far too often, whether it looks like the real thing or not. You can have a game world the size of Jupiter but if everything looks the same that's not worth anything. Colin Mcrae Dirt "only" had about 600 miles worth of track, but that was infinitely more enjoyable than the what, 5000 miles in TDU1, simply because it offered far more variation in a smaller 'area'. TDU2 does look like it's improving on TDU1's faults though, i'm looking forward to it, even though i was very dissappointed with 1.
Fall 2010? Shouldn't have to wait too much longer for it then :D Although this is a game to be played on my PC with my Logitech G25 wheel
Ohh man.... how close?!!! ...This will be 'the' driving game of the century...! I'll buy a copy for PS3 as well as PC! My very first GranTurismo Wheel works on both! Hehe!!! :)
Cant wait for this game. I think i might actually preorder it. by the way, excellent picture, Zooner1399!
@Zooner1399 i see your point and some of which are quite right; i didnt play the new line which could have been an amazing re-make. but you must understand its to my Benefit that this game turns out to be an awesome game, why would i (gamer) want a sucky game ? I dont pretend to be an industry expert but i been playing for over 25 years now since the release of alien invaders ;p but i always take the side of the end user, despite their flaws and per-judgments. IMO i think they were a direct contributor to the development of the industry. I am really happy how the industry is expanding and see that its on the right pass. (we can debate this issue more privately) Will check out the game and hope it meets the expectations (its to my benefit it does) PS: am not crying, i just prefer a friendly approach when debating or communicating specially that the topic is gaming
@poupy79 Sure, you're basing your opinion in TD6, which was before TDU. TDU made a lot difference in the franchise itself, plus, it got the best critics and you didn't even tried... oh well, anyway, not willing to be rude, but you got to grow up your thinking about gaming industry. The companies really make games based on different types of tastes indeed, but it got shallow and selfdescrutcble once it's objective is trying to make as more sellings as possible and hit the majority of public in short ammount of time as never before. PS: I didn't used the F word in any sentence before, unless it was on "WTF" in the last comment, sorry for the agressiveness, please don't cry. Once you're a NFS gamer or what ever you think you are. You possibly know the basic EA selling strategy made on NFS which was make as much NFS different games in short amount of time. That brough us almost 3 games per year, really low rated and low quality "racing" games as ever in the respectfull history of NFS. ( because of that and other reasons EA lost the nascar exclusivity license ) Your skepticism on Test drive franchise is understandably, even though you only played the 11 year old TD6 and not the current line on gameplay (Unlimited). When it comes out, I just want to know what you think about it, even if it sucked or not.
@Zooner1399 as said earlier this is my own opinion till the game launches which is also based on a bad history with the franchise (TD6) PS: no need to get so defensive and using the "F" in each sentence; and i think the gaming industry will develop and thrive when different/opposing views are considered Each gamer seek different stuff from his games; companies that manage to deliver to different segments & needs those whom make it big. Yet again, my view on the game might change completely once the game is out. (or continue to be a bad franchise for me) Considering Need for speed, yes am an avid NFS gamer but if u read my reviews on the last 3 NFS you will know that i was disappointed by them. have fun :)
@poupy79 OMFG! You're a gaming market expert! And nobody bought TDU 1 because of the old dated graphics then ?! Unlimited was one of the best racing titles ever made reaching the average of 82% on gamerakings report, the very last NFS reaching this on gamespot was most wanted (which one I've enjoyed and played to death). So TDU 2 doesn't have THE graphics you need? WTF? The world of this game is 10X bigger than ANY other racing title in the market right now. And you want it to be graphicaly compatible with DX11 gaming graphics and stuff? IF TDU2 had those graphics it doesn't even get close to be sold for beeing needed more memory than PS3s and X360 have, and for PC the size of it. Because of comments like yours the gaming industry is going for the graphics instead of CONTENT. Games like TDU, ARMA, Lock On, rFactor are the true miracles out there. Glad they're still under development. This kind of stuff that brings epic titles as Silent Hunter , IL-2 Sturmovik, Driver to turn ashes under the industry claws.
it looks weird in the other videos when the cars turn. i hope thats cause its still a bit from complete. i just cant wait till they make a game like gta with cars like this with forza driving style
Graphics look a little... incomplete, but other than that, I have no qualms. There are far more important things anyway. Besides, I'm assuming the game isn't close to finished yet, since there's no release date. Definitely keeping my eye on this. Looks like a car game I could really get into.
Needs more life than the first one had, still my favorite racing game to date the second will be even better/ word cannot describe the AWESOMENESS!
hope they havent changed the handling to arcade style, the original just needed a bit of tweaking and it would of been perfect
This game will be one of the greatest atari games and a game that's going to be the best of 2010 racing game's With oustanding graphics of the 2 islands and all the cars, and lots of miles to explore of asphalt roads and offroad paths. This is the kind of racing game I'v always been looking for, and that I will abosolutly buy and play for a long time. ( Sorry for the bad English).
So i'm assuming this game is gonna be "open-world"? Kinda like midnight club? It looks good, but honestly no racing has my attention like need for speed hot pursuit. yeahhhh..
people seem to forget that graphics play a HUGE deal in the success of a game. If it wasn't we all be playing Pong right now. We play games to immerse in a virtual world, without good graphics this experience can't be found or lacking. Plus graphics in the racing genre always compromised around 50% of the game success (maybe more)
@those who say the graphics stink: it's the video, notice the extreme jagged pixelation even on the logo screen at the beginning, it's just really bad "HD"(notice its about as good quality as FMV sequences from the early CDROM era or VCD for that matter, it's just horrific to think they would approve such compression in today's world. I blame gamespot 100% for this one).
@ The_M0RT, That's totally true it is all about gameplay... Just show me NFS online where you can drive on the fields off the track like TDU totally open ended and watch it double in replay value... Just the ability to explore unhindered by invisible walls is what made TDU such a great game for it's time. On an unrelated note take any MMO and make it so you can sidestep/run out of the way of magic atacks/arrows/projectiles and watch the PvP player base adn player base in general expand massively... Devs don't seem to know what we need but TDU is definitely on to something with this totally open style... Imagine running down that whole field of sheep and then running from the cops with your grill all bloodied up! Genius! On the graphics: some of the air-panning city/landscape scenes resemble near Alan Wake quality; it's not a totally modern engine, but hey, it's not bad for a racing game, NFS: shift looks like cartoons compared to TDU2 as far as I am concerned...
@Zooner1399 I totally agree. I play games for the gameplay, not for the graphics. I mean, sure, it's nice to have good graphics, but at the end of the day, it doesn't matter how it all "looked". I want to FEEL like I was just driving a Porsche 911 Turbo, not just driving some shiny car that resembles a Porsche 911, but feels like I'm driving on a road made out of marbles. And gimme a break with that motion blur crap. It's like the devs saying, "we want you to get a real element of speed, so we're going to add something that you'd never see in real life! The great thing about motion blur is that you can't see anything ahead of you, and you'll get nauseous if you look at it for too long!" Also, I'll bet that 99% of these people would say the graphics are fine if there was antialiasing in the video.
does this game not have anti aliasing? either that or the resolution it's streaming is poor because the edges look nasty
The graphics look a little dated to me. They had enough time to really wow us, but they didnt make good use of that time unfortunately
on graphics part. i do find them really good. ofc not GT5 good but quite amazing for the arcade racing genre.
tbh, i never liked the franchise, the last one i played was TD6 and it was baaaad. hopefully this game can reignite the mediocre franchise back. Honestly, am looking forward to NFS world much more.
@ h4x3r101 This IS the actual footage of TDU2. You can see that they're using almost the same look of the first one, very similar in atmosphere. But if you are thinking that's not an actual footage and is a CG animation, I believe the graphics are okay then. About the gameplay, obviously anybody hadn't tested by yourself so can't argue about it, only after the release ppl will be able to criticise. 4 years of development I put my foot down that eden will bring to us a decent gameplay like the first one that still have players nowadays online and in comunities.
Everyone is saying "WOW" "Nice". You haven't even seen any actual game footage or how the game will run, wait till you see it.
I cant wait for this game to come out,and i"m sure it will be better than any Need For Speed that came after the Carbon.Sure hope there are no POWER-UPS in this one
