Test Drive...one of my most favorite franchises as a gamer. The ability to drive awesome cars is every man's dream. Plus the online capabilities make it even better. Can't wait to play it.
If they want this game to be successful for me they have to get the weather/ time line right. In order to do that they need to be subtle. Most productions that attempt real time effects get it wrong because they don't vary the effects enough. I want to turn on my TDU2 game and not know what the weather is going to be like (except maybe in some sort of weather forecast style gadget on the in game GPS). In other words... I want a different gaming experience everytime I fire the game up.
Can't wait for this. I loved TDU1 except of the lobby that disconnected played each time a race was completed. What I also like was that this guys sell the game for $49 which shows that you can make a great game for a resonable price.
tdu1 was pretty new and a push forward at the time. the graphics were impressive and beautiful, for the time. however, games have caught up. the first thing i noticed is graphically, this game looks dated. they are talking about beautiful cars and locations & yet i dont see it..sure it looks fine but its nothing special, a little dated from what i see. regardless of what you thought of it, NFS:HP had gorgeous graphics. I personally loved that game btw. Look at Forza 3, GT5, those are the new standards. NFSHP was a big world that you could drive around in and was beautiful. The autolog system was a different way of doing what TDU2 is trying to do. TDU2 wants more immersion, but i dont know how i feel about the avatar, houses, yachts, parties..i just want to race. i like the idea of immersed online racing as it was in TDU1, but im not sure expanding the out of car aspect is the best move. what kind of game are they making? not just a racing game anymore. and tbh the thing buggin me the most is how they tout beautiful houses and people and cars and location...the graphics really aren't impressing me..
TDU1 would have been cool if the track would not have been made so edgy. What I mean by that is when you drive up/down steep hills using wheel with force feedback, the game physics engine lets you know all the polygons the road is made of. And you actually loose the grip when the car climbs those stair-like roads. Very hard to steer. Unrealistic. Some algorithm that would make the car understand the road as one continuous round object independently of the level of detail and polygon count would be desirable. The cars are great though but pulsing contrasting HD lighting leaves your eyes soaring after prolonged play. I just hope I could play with my wheel and force feedback on. All other games are about year old and became boring already. Stuck with Dirt 2 and GTR Evolution.
does any one know how can i join and play in beta version? i have the game installed, the key, every thing, but i dont now when the server is avalable!!!:-(
hopefully you can have custom soundtracks cuz no offense but i couldnt possibly take the techno music becuz if the soundtrack is the same music from the trailer im going to get a serious headache.
wow... will this be the 'mind jail' so to speak? social life going down kinda thing? lol i can see how this can totally immerse someone for days .... sigh...
I am looking forward to this game... i do not care what anyone says.. TDU is an excellent way to put across the idea of living a lifestyle that for most is unattainable!
If the driving mechanics are handled well and if there's variety of races to do, then this will be my first game to buy for 2011.
the first one i played for 3hrs. i give it a 5.0 but this ones is going to be even worse cant wait to feb 31......
They do talk alot of shait in these dev diaries dont they lol not just eden im talkin about everyone :P i was able to contradict them on more than 70% of what they said easily
the first one i still play it i give it a 8.0 but this ones is going to be even better cant wait to feb 8......
Never got round to the first one but am looking forward to this :D If they achieve half of what they are aiming for it should be good!!
I'm sure the racing and multiplayer will be very good. Honestly, my biggest concern is this 'immersion' they are going for. Without PEDESTRIANS in the CITY, the world will feel dead. Simple as that. That was my biggest disappointment with TDU1.
