I do like the commentation in this video. Its nice to hear people arguing, criticizing and supporting the game.
BF2 and BF 3 were very mediocre and over-rated by millions of trendy zombies, I don't think I will be buying this one.
Gosh it took 6 years for them to advance from Battlefield 2 to Battlefield 3. It's been barely 2 fucking years and WAIT we must now ruin our franchise and release a new battlefield every 1 or 2 years like COD. Sigh.... I'm amazed there are so many sheep on this world that buy these games (especially from EA).
Games like this are let down by the dumb enemy AI, which guarantees that your firefights will involve very little thinking or tactical decisions.
SWAT 4 and the original F.E.A.R. were two games that nailed enemy AI.
Ever since Mass Effect 3 I'm boycotting all EA-published games, including this one. It may be a good game, but I refuse to support such a corrupt, anti-consumeristic company.
A steep learning curve for BF3...? It's a relatively mindless FPS game to be honest, what I like about it is that it gives you the freedom to be creative and have different strategies and playstyles, but the fact is you can run around and shoot things without using your brain at all and still win.
If BF3 is a steep learning curve, then Natural Selection 2 is the fifth level of hell.
BATTLE FIELD 3 AND now 4 has definitely replaced the CALL OF DUTY series...! i wont buy anymore CODs... and desperately waiting for BF4 AND MGS5!!!!
I definitely agree with the comments made about co-op, I think co-op (without the painfully bad narrative)
would fit far better with Battlefield than an 'on rails' sequence of
events. Battlefield is about exploring large-scale environments,
reacting to the enemy's tactics as a squad (or a team, if you're lucky)
to win. It's not about watching the game unfold for you with your only
input being a mouse-click on cue in a predetermined sequence. Leave that to Call of Duty.
Sign, please stop forcing social components in games at least make them completely optional, can turn it off. I don't want to see that on my screen while I'm playing the single player portion of a game, takes me out of the experience.
Despite all the hard work that will go into the campaign I don't care about single-player. Battlefield has always been a multiplayer game for me and that remains the primary reason that will decide whether I purchase this game. So far it looks impressive.
OMG what is happening with everyone?!! It is like everyone is bitching about every game that comes out lately no matter if it is actually good or bad! And most of these guys are obviously tired of playing games - period! If you do not like playing games then just don't play them or switch to some indie games or start working part-time, but don't spoil everything for people who still enjoy playing games and enjoy good effort that developers are making. Even Kevin is gone completely off the rails, maybe it is because he got slim and not getting his daily sugar dose but i really lost my faith in him after review of RE6 - i mean score of 4(seriously?) for a game of that much of effort, money and time put in it, i would be able to understand 6 or even 5 if he was seriously disappointed but 4 from someone previously considered as one of the best and professional reviewers out there? Something is really wrong with this industry and majority of gamers...
Aaron you are so annoying and stupid some valid points but you are to annoying for anyone to care about them
Gamespot: Do a better job of picking contributors if you're going to act like a legitimate gaming-journalism source. Next time you do one of these editorials try to avoid morons like Aaron Sampson - his commentary was not relevant to gameplay (interrupted it actually) and if we agree that games are growing in their cultural importance, that idiot should have the sense to keep his mouth shut when you're simulating realistic warfare and amputating a soldiers leg. Not funny.
So tired of reviewers shiitting on every thing. Seriously, you are picking on too much detail? Why don't you find another job and stop crying over stupid stuff like this. Couldn't even finish the video because of you complaining over the detail or other items in the video. It's no wonder why most of us don't even listen to you guÿs anymore because you all are so jaded
i dont mind if its similar to bf3, bf3 was amazin
i love action styled mmorpgs, check out the newley released age of wushu, the free battle system is exactly what i mean, a game without level and class, only thousands of skills to work for.
@awhite33 It is
@-Hiki- While I share your concerns about Battlefield 4 being worthwhile, it's worth noting that there have been yearly Battlefield releases since 2002. In some cases they were only expansions, but that's not inconsistent. Plus, between BF2 and 3 there were both Bad Company games, 2142, 1943, Play4Free, and Battlefield Heroes. Even if you don't count the last two as full games, the franchise has seen regular releases for a decade.
I forgot to mention that the game will be 49,99 of course, they really must be money hungry. Quantity above quality don't forget that !!! Sigh...
@NBAmaster33 u r right, EA corrupted their own franchise. Mass effect 3 is worst than its predecessors.
@waqasomerhayat COD and BF are both shit.
@devastator1991 Roger that! Social BS in SP needs to go like a bad case of the runs!
@Outatomomega what? It looks exactly the same as battlefield 3 lol...
@huckleberrysin I'm just going to say I think you're taking the soldiers leg part a little too seriously.
EA should have used their shiny new engine and updated the BF2 maps and retained it's squad integrity. BF3 failed on many levels, maps being the paramount flopper. And single player campaign on consoles? When EA shunned the PC it was the moment the BF franchise became American Idol.
