I hate GameStop, and I hate what they've done to gaming, but I will support this game and it's pre-order. Why? This series has been my childhood obsession since I was in the 3rd grade. Tekken 6 was bloody amazing, and this looks even better than that (I can't believe I'm even saying that). There goes $67 well spent. I'll be playing this game for years just like Tekken 6!! CAN'T WAIT!!
Honestly, I'm not jumping for joy about the inclusion, but it's nothing to proclaim the series dead over. When you think about it, Mortal Kombat and Soul Calibur have engaged in many more problematic exclusions--building a game/alternate storyline around how Superman or Darth Vader somehow fits into your fictional universe is significantly more questionable than putting a music artist in the background of one of your stages.
It's Tekken Tag 2--given the fact that the first one was essentially a "greatest hit characters plus a few interesting new modes", there's no great harm in slipping in a little popular culture to draw in outsiders. If this got to the point where it starts to affect story or result in less effort in gameplay, I'd be concerned, but for right now it's a chuckle factor, not a cause for tears.
In a game with fighting Pandas/Grizzlies/Kangaroos/ Baby Dinosaurs (Gon), robots/androids, Mayan Gods, and Angels/Devils i see nothing wrong with adding Snoop Dogg to the Tekken franchise (be it as a stage or a character). Tekken (as with most fighting game stories) make little to no sense anyway. So what does it matter?
This game is going to be played at Tournaments all over the world. Snoop Dogg is getting serious exposure.
A snoop dogg stage hmmm, hopefully it will be fully interactive like you could throw your opponent at Snoop Dogg or something
Aw come on y'aaaall! Snoop would be a rediculously ( that's a word ;) ) awesome character; but, just make him downloadable. Hell, the man has a stage, he more-less is in the game and recognized!!! So to all you hatn' Snooperonis, you don't wanna know whats up with the 2-1-3333333! GO S. N. Double-O P!
Thank god he just has a stage. If he was a playable character I would have given up on Namco and Tekken.
@deaniro wouldn't work, he'd use an AK-47 and the match would be over in a second
@Ducez_III I don't think Snoop Dogg needs exposure, who doesn't already know him?
@KaSeRoR 1. ever played tekken before?
2. wtf is "whats up with the 2-1-3333333! GO S. N. Double-O P"
@bumblebug If he was playable, and you didn't like it, just don't use him. Not a valid reason to give up on the game, let alone the whole company. People are too damn picky.
@bumblebug Hes ganna be downloadable! Watch and see!
i can tell you dont know much about snoop.
but yeah i agree that having him as an actual fighter would be a bad idea...
@EvilMonkie3 HaHA! Huge Tekken fan! Ever since the first one in 95! Tag was my favorite so excited for 2! And 213 is the area code for Long Beach-Compton, CA where Snoop is from! Hah S.N. Double O P is SNOOP! Get it S.N. Double O (two O's) and P... SNOOP! >=) I had his first album on TAPE CASSETTE! Old School! Check my profile badges! OLD SCHOOl is my most proud! LoL! Stay fly!
@Sakuban Yeah man Chill
