Alien: Isolation sticks to its roots by scaring the crap out of you
Did you enjoy this video?
This looks really good. I want it. I hope they don't fuck it up. You guys remember the last aliens game? What was that piece of shit called, collonial marines lols.
They did the same with that one too, they hyped the fuck out of it. and then when you got to play it. Some shit they showed in footage wasn't even in the game.
The thing that gives me hope is the atmosphere. There's this claustrophobic feel to it. It's really creepy and they seem to keep it simple and just try and go for very basic instincts. They seem to have focus on few things to do them right.
I just want a good Alien game!!!
Yak, Yak, Yak! It's how it always starts out, then come the bugs -- and, I'm not talking facehuggers either. I'll believe the reviewer's score, in conjunction with what they're saying.
I gotta say... this looks damn good!
I've always wanted a game like this to exist, but also wondered how it could be pulled off well.
I assume the overall objective in this game will be to survive and kill or expel the alien from the ship. If that's the case I find it hard to imagine it working well as a linear action/horror game. That's because you need to have padding to the story - one character has an idea, they try it, it fails and some people get killed, then they try something else. In the film they only had to keep this suspense going for about an hour once the alien shows up but a game needs to be a lot longer than that.
You'd have the issue in the first few hours that, whatever's going on, you know it can't possibly work because it's too soon for the alien to be defeated.
Still, I'll be watching this one to see how it develops.
Please don't let them F this up. I'm looking more looking forward to this then SC.
Personally Im still sceptical about the quality of this game due to Gearbox fiasco of bait & switch nonsense even though is not by Gearbox. Still I look forward to it and graphics and lighting is an important factor in an Alien game. Another thing why I look forward to this because its not a shooter!
It looks very promising.
PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and..... XBONE.
