Fact: Rita Mordio is the funniest caster I had the pleasure of use in a Tales game, ever. She's not the strongest, but a very fun to master and very versatile. Check her skills
Worth noting: This game allows up to four people to play, so while one person controls the main character outside of battle, you can have three friends controlling the other characters as well, making combat much more dynamic and fun. It's a great investment if you have friends who love RPGs and are willing to split cost and play time with you
I bought this game because theres a dog that smokes a pipe and wields a sword lol...
But its a great game if you enjoy any kind of Anime...If you dont like Anime then I can see really not liking the story/characters but the gameplay itself is still great. Plus by now this is probably 25 bucks anyone thinking about getting it should pick it up :)
Finally got this game, along with my first xbox. I follow the tales series no matter what console. I am a game fan boy not a console fan boy.
the story is awful, characters are annoying..i don't know why people keep praising the story, it maybe better than some other JRPG, but still doesn't make it great
@travisallred thats cheap, over here in england the cheapest you can grab this in a shop or on ebay is a round 60-70 pounds which I think is over $100. Luckily they just added it onto Xbox live games on demand for 20. You should check that out
I've owned this game for over a year now, and I've logged almost 80 hours into it. If you have any remote interest in this game, you need to get it.
yeah just it brand new for 15$. had my eye on this a while but the price stayed high for a long time.
@keyboard-hero: Hell yeah it is... now teach me japanese because localization is taking forever. This issue accidentaly adds value to 360 platform.
This is a great RPG. It reminds me a lot of Cronotrigger and earlier FF games. Pretty graphics, good story, fun combat, nice extras and interesting quests to conquer. It's definately worth your money. I have 60hrs on my first play through.
So my 360 recently got stolen and now I have to play this game over, 1st time I got halfway through (stopped after Ghasfarost or that clock tower thing), now I really want to finish and after playing FFXIII it feels nice to be playing an RPG like this again, I feel like before I took ToV for granted.
I have never tried a JRPG but I am beginning to think I should. Looks like a truly beautiful, fantasy game. I think I will buy it when I have some cash to spend. He did a good job reviewing too.
K-V ftw. Great review. I wouldn't mind picking this one up but I'm not even done with FF13. Somehow I think I'll be enjoying this one a lot more than FF13 though. I especially love the cel-shaded visual art style. A beauty to look at for sure!
PS3 version isn't coming. Why are you all still hoping for that? It wasn't at E3 and bamco is pretty silly when it comes to not localizing it. Doesn't matter though. Just get it for the xbox.
This game is pretty hard to get.. I own both a PS3 and a 360. Since the PS3 version is taking an extremely large amount of time to come out, I'm buying the 360 version, and later get the PS3 one, but damn, it's nowhere to be found! And it's being sold at ridiculously high prices on the internet.
The game seems awesome and I like this reviewer. I want to wait for the PS3 version. My 360 is currently reserved for Fallout 3 and Bioshock and I like playing RPGs on PS3.
They removed a X360 feature for the PS3 version; the one that allowed you to play the game in your country LOL Now, seriously; i own the 360 version of the game and both system and i'm getting the PS3 one if it's released in NA (what!, 96% of the poeple will do it with SFIV so i will do it with this one). @blazin640: Also the looses Bandai-Namco had this year and the fact that Vesperia on PS3 is one of the best selling games of the company... I bet we'll have the game in West countrys in a couple of months
for those who don't believe it, it will come out to PS3 in north america since they called the voice actors back and other stuff, I just don't know when, all I know is that its on PS3 in japan. P.S. the difference is that they added a whole bunch of new stuff to the PS3, like now u can play as flynn and patty and a ton of new stuff i just cant say it all. (NO i'm not a fan boy).
I still play this - Game+ is a hoot. Just two items: The 3 "AI" characters can also be controlled by players. It adds a lot of depth to the strategy with a second player. Secondly, this is an Xbox360 exclusive -- outside of Japan. The PS3 version will be domestic (Japan) only. That would likely be the case anyways, as Namco-Bandai doesn't seem to like releasing reiterations of the games elsewhere. (ex. ToS for PS2) I'd rather they just released it domestically but without region protection AND subtitle capabilities. That way, you could get it on your system of choice, WITH the original VAs. Not to knock the English VAs, who did a fine job, but there's nothing quite like the original.. (the domestic Vesperia for PS3 is pure Japanese w/o subs)
this game is one of the highest quality games ive played on 360, most jrpg's are mediocre and repetitive but this one was great. hope theres more to come for the 360
I love Kevin's reviews, plus he's SO cute!! but seriously Vesperia is a great Tales game, if you like Tales games and or JRPGs in general you'll love this game, it's very long, has great Grade Replay Value and it's funny as hell too
This game is so much fun!!! The graphics are amazing!!! If you like anime/rpg style games you have to play this game.
IAmDazzle thats fine by me i just haveint read that yet fanboyish i wasint being jack fanboyish wod have been saying ps3 sucks or this game wont come out for that crap wich i did not say soooooo next time chose your words better fanboyish lol
@BillyColeman Yeah... it is coming out to the PS3. Most Xbox 360 "Exclusive" JPRGs hit the PS3 eventually. This one is confirmed for later this year. Don't be so fanboyish, everyone should get the chance to play different games. PS he is my favorite GS editor for reviews, best since Jeff.
@rice2555 I totally agree, it's not just because I agree with most of his reviews he just seems to honestly enjoy what he does and is very sincere in his opinions. Has to be the best major gaming website Reviewer.
