Syndicate Launch Trailer
Syndicate launches February 21, 2012, in North America.
people just want any reason to slyly mention they were cool enough to play the originals, even if it's negatively. and the ones that actually believe themselves make it sound like it's going to tarnish the original somehow. stop being so childish, you're like 30 years old. this generation doesn't want to relive ours. next thing you know Pong fan will be whining about Grand Slam Tennis
whats up with the "chips taking over brains" idea lately? first deus ex and now this and pry countless more before
Awesome. Nice to see a little more about the story too; looks like it'll be interesting. Already pre-ordered (Amazon still has a great deal on it) and just anxiously awaiting that shipment!
@mlawless9999 The Demo does a pretty good job of showing you the gameplay, really. Anyway, after thoroughly enjoying the demo, I will be picking this game up tomorrow. :D
Ok - why is there hardly any gameplay in this video? are they hiding something? I can tell absolutely nothing about this game from these cut-scenes. Whenever they make a video like this, it makes me think I'm not buying the game. SHOW ME WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO SELL ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND DO NOT BS ME!!!!
Looks like a cocktail of Dues Ex, Assasin's creed and any good FPS with modern weapons. But hey, I'm not complaining :D
I must admit that all I had heard about this game until the demo was the usual, reactionary butthurt that characterizes remakes like this. I was pleasantly surprised with the demo, and have liked what I've seen. Yes, I *have* played the original 1993 game, and it does hold up surprisingly well for its age, but to say that a series can never change, especially when its been almost 20 years, is letting one's nostalgia run wild. There is definitely a problem with the FPS being the go to genre for these remakes, but, at the same time, there would probably be much more positive buzz about this game if it had a different title. This new Syndicate does not reduce the value of the old ones, and should be judged on its own, not beholden to ideas of what a 20 year old license should be. Starbreeze, despite the involvement of EA (although the lack of online pass here is a heartening move on their part), is a solid studio which has produced quality, first-person games that were more than CoD clones. So this game *does* have some promise. There are things that make me reticent about the game: lack of offline co-op, slightly rushed dev time (they aparently wanted another 6 months for extra polish), and the apparent shortness of the single player campaign. However, having played the co-op demo and being intrigued by the other videos that I've seen, I am excited for this game on its own terms. If it scores at least 7s and 8s, I'll pick it up the first week.
Did anyone notice the resemblance with Assassin's Creed graphics? Especially the part with chair and brainwashing...
First of all with the exception of the "gangster" way that the guy held his gun this looked badass. Second, all the people who are saying this sucks are people that played the original, I haven't played the original so Im not bias like you and can only go on how THIS game looks. And this games looks like a good game, no its not the same format as the first but theres not much that can be done about that now.
PART 3: I remember playing Wing Commander 1 in my 386 Olivetti back in the days with 4 MB of memory rams and it was a blast... yes, I'm that YOUNG STILL! EA or whatever company out there build games, YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND ONCE AND FOR ALL, YOU JUST CANNOT RUINED A CLASSIC GAME BY CHANGING THE FORMULA! Remember this: RECOGNIZATION (if this word even exists) on successful classic games is the key in REVIVING the old franchise! THE ONLY WAY TO BRING BACK THOSE GAMES is to STICK TO THE FORMULA!!! Now go back to the drawing board and come back when you have something similar to S1! Damn... Again... what were you people thinking when you decided to turn this classic game into a fps.............. where are the good old folks that used to make fun awesome gameplays??? Where are those brains? Without hitting the shelves, another classic ruined... There's a reason why we are moaning and **** about it because EA you just ruimed this once amazing game with your eager for a quick cash. This was Diiiiiiiii game that could be amazingly be revived and be excellent if you had followed the same formula. I just hope Wing Commander, Commando, Homeworld and all those once excellent classic games won't be ruined with any revival from companies.
PART 2: Another perspective, is like turning HOMEWORLD strategic space flight game (ONE OF THE BEST SPACE STRATEGIC GAMES EVER IN MY OPINION) into Flight Simulator............ What does one have to do with the other??? Nothing. SIgh........... they just ruined completely the classic game with new eye candies when the main point of the game was the strategic gameplay. .......... it didn't stop us from playing it insanely day and night, over and over and over............ hidding in the cars.... sneaking around....... getting into the building and blasting it out...... etc etc etc... Another Classic ruined................. they forgot the old formula on how to create fun games... another shooter, another day... Sigh...... P.S. Funny, I wrote my comment without reading other posts. Then reading other people comments, glad I'm not the only one with the same opinion. I give another example. Why does Deuxs HR was such a big hit?? Because it followed the same formula as back in the days when the 1st one came out. It stood with the success formula and it didn't try to turn it into something completely new. The new Deuxs HR got a new story, with improved graphics, but the overall formula was there and RECOGNIZABLE!!! Now........... turning a CLASSIC strategic game into an FPS with some eye candy and call it a day???????? What are you guys thinking?...................
PART 1: I'm disappointed. The new game looks good and I hope the gameplay is also good... BUT, for someone like me who have played Syndicate 1 intensively back in the old days, I have wished they made the same gameplay with improved graphics, weapons and perhaps new tactics. I certainly would have been excited for this one if I haven't played Syndicate 1 back in the old days, as I'm a FPS lover. However, having played the 1st Syndicate and turning this into an FPS is just plain wrong. Seriously, turning this classic into a fps is just plain wrong. Like I said, I had wished they revamped this game for many years, but NEVER in a million years thought they would have turn the formula that gave this game such success into ........ @*(#&!@(#(!&@( game. FPS ??? No, just a no go. The new young generation might think awful about the first Syndicate and question how did we enjoyed playing it with such awful graphic details.............. Well back in the days........... it was the best we could get, besides Wing Commander. It wasn't the graphics, but the gameplay itself that was a success! http://youtu.be/iatSWM6q7rc
I prefer the first person point of view for almost everything now. It's called immersion in the 3-D world around you. Looking at the ass of an on-screen character does nothing for me, besides making me feel disconnected from the game. PS - Fallout, Elder Scrolls, new Syndicate - rock in first person.
Why do all these remakes get beaten into FPS? It really has nothing todo with the squad based combat of the originals. Like fallout this game will fail for me. I seriously hope they won't remake sim city in this time period. You will probably play the major where you have to shoot innocent sims in a open sandbox world.
It seems going FPS is the safest way to revive classic for publishers. Guaranteed money back return.
Hard to gauge this one. Theory sounds good but at the same time I agree with outher people that have said this reminds them of Deus EX human revolution. Lets just wait and see how this one turns out.
It' been a long time since the original game came out, and I not not sure how good a thing that is in todays gaming market.
I'd like to get this game... if EA had nothing to do with it. Bet anything it will bug ridden for the first year. Then the patch will come out. Then it will be broken completely.
This game has massive flop written all over it. Maybe just maybe EA wont be such complete dicks in the future.
0:24 "I never wanted this" Meanwhile in Deus Ex: Human Revolution... "I never asked for this" So now Syndicate and Human Revolution have more things in common.
i gave up all interest when i found out i couldnt play on the same console with my brother. i mean thats what coop is! its meaningless if the guy isnt sitting right next to you
This seems to look like a prequel to the original 90s game going by this trailer.....that is a good thing, a very good thing. i just hope im right about the prequel thing lol i just hope later in the game the agents become full Syndicates, being that they have no control over their thoughts, feelings, pain, normal human speech, only able to say simple commands, yes, no, affirmative, negative, mission complete :-) & their bodies fully taken over by cyber mechanic enhancements, with a coool robotic voice :-D The company is in full control over them. The only thing on their mind is the mission, God i do hope so :-)
