The game seems like it's going to be repetitive, though I only tried the demo it didn't really wow me as I thought it would. Was looking forward to it, but after the demo I'm having second thoughts about it.
Some years ago I truly hated EA for publishing any crappy game they could find (and I will never ever play Dragon Age games of any kind - Origins was enough), but I already have pre-ordered Syndicate. Really liked the co-op demo.
i would really love to try this game... played Syndicate the old game and i still like it. And this game may just be like the Fallout series.. Remember when Fallout changed from a strategy based game to a first person shooter and it just got even better?? i dont know about you but i love the look of this game. It looks a bit like Deus Ex but hey the more cyberpunk games the better for me.
Looks like a bloody disco with the amount of neon and flashing going on. The demo is shockingly bland by the way. Same old same old. Yawn.
@DriftEJ20 yeah its almost an fps with a twist. the twist is (for me anyway) its like the original (commodore Amiga version) but they've zoomed into the action i can't explain it. I think they've done a remarkable job of keeping the almost brainwashed individuals like the original, android killers having no regard for anything but the task they and the group have to do, and somehow you do feel that. Now if they release a way of doing both the original and this that would be awesome
The demo rocks, IMO. The only reason I could see for a lot of people disliking this game is because it's different than the original, which was also awesome, and because of the hectic interface and exaggerated head bob. I personally like it, the interface has a lot of really useful info, and it culminates into a really visceral experience. Also, the weapon sounds are really nice (something you appreciate after hearing CoD's BB guns so much). Seeing action like this makes me miss the days where co-op was more mission-like and less like an arena. The CoD zombies maps I liked the most were the ones with the longest sense of progression and I miss games like Halo that had the entire single player missions available in co-op, even if the presence of a second MC/Arbiter wasn't accurate story-wise. You can tell they were having fun playing the level and not fumbling around so much trying to figure out how to play the game. Despite how hectic it was, with all the visual cues I somehow was able to get right into the demo and understand 85% of it within about 30 seconds.
Played the demo a few times and it really grew on me the more I got a feel for it. The coop gameplay actually makes me think of Left 4 Dead with cooler weapons, enemies with guns, and tons of upgrades. Definitely think I'm going to pick it up.
Bullfrog created some great games at their time. But coming from Starbreeze, I'm quite confident they'll do the name justice. (the Riddick games were great!) Hope they incorporate another DEV Commentary in the game too
played the demo, doing a mission along with other 3 mates is cool, out of that nothing especial or particularly ground breaking, the game feels a lot like BF3, and I dont need two game that feel about the same.
