This is exactly what I was thinking of when I first saw kinect, using the controller and the motion sensor in tandem instead of one by one. My thought was a shooter where you could control the head of the soldier so he could look left and right faster than using the joystick just by tilting your head and hand movments/voice to issue orders to a fireteam. Kind of like Arma 2's track IR headgear mixed with TC's endwar and it's voice control over troops. Too bad these games are few and far between.
This is starting to shape up nicely. I still think Capcom and From missed a great opportunity to bring back the huge control set from the old Steel Battalion. It's cool how you control the inside of your mech with the sensor but I miss that huge control set...
It says still in development, but that's really just a decoy from the fact that it will likely still look that crappy on release day (if TBA 2011 is true). I was really hoping this would bring a much needed new and good mech game to us, but I have a feeling low production values and kinect are going to ruin it. We need a Chrome Hounds 2, agreed?
Never got Steel Battalion myself but i always thought the controls were badass. Very cool game but i'm concerned about how groping at the air is going to make me feel like i'm controlling a robot. Then again, can't say i'd buy a game with a huge controller that i could only use for one game anyway... Guess all that's left is to wait and see.
