I was unsure about this game. I love the genre and look to it, just unsure if I wanted it. And then I watched this video...want.
At 11:40, he should've possessed the woman and killed the guy. Or possessed the guy like he did, but make him jump off the ledge.
I have this horrible feeling, that this game ,while fun to play, will be an extremely short 4-5 hour game. A horrible feeling because something as fun as this, needs to last a lot longer.
This is going to be a very good game to play....many ways to complete ones' tasks, I like stealth first, than...........??????.
Great concept, but it seems much too easy with the A.I not aware of much, and the main character much too powerful especially with that blink power. Hopefully they'll balance these things before it all comes out.
The AI just doesn't seem that aware to me. You shouldn't be able to bolt all over the place without anyone at least becoming suspicious and investigating. The game looks great, but I think if the AI is tweaked, it would look even better.

I hope one does not have to kill everyone in the game. That's just silly, i mean those brothel girls are hot and I don't think they need killing.
This game looks pretty awesome, i was amazed by the guns blazing demo and now that i saw this trailer i am definitely going to pick this game up, it looks like it will be really fun and i will most likely end up playing every mission over and over using different methods to complete them and such, looks like a lot of fun.
i thought he was gonna have the 2nd Pendleton Bro jump off the ledge and commit suicide when he controlled him and went to the ledge

looks too easy -- hopefully the harder difficulties will have more depth to it than merely adding health and damage modifiers to baddies ( and other lazy mechanics )
my only two picks on this is thats it might turn out so easy to complete missions and thats AI is so dumbed down they cant spot you 1m away
Wow, by the sound of those non-lethal solutions -- that will totally be my playthrough. Honestly, forcing slave owners into slavery? Sounds much more satisfying, to me, than giving them an easy, quick death.
Hm. Evil, though, too.
First they tell me that the "tallboys" have tanks full of whale oil, then they show me that heart-machine you use to find runes, then they tell me "the sound propagates based on the geometry of the world," then I notice the creepy sounding things your character says when he uses a power, THEN, just when I think my steampunk-nerd-boner is going to kill me, the guy possess a bitch in mid air.
Although I haven't seen the comparison, I know many must have commented on the fact that Dishonored is simply BioShock added to Assassin's Creed. While that is not necessarily a BAD thing, it appears to be a whole lot of content shoved into a tiny package (i.e. it doesn't appear to be an open world game). Unfortunately recent 'can't miss' releases have been over hyped disappointments which makes me wary of plopping down $60 on an unknown no matter HOW in love the developers are with their products.
It is even gotten so bad that I have become a little suspicious of numbered reviews of games like dishonored on once trusted sites like G4, and IGN (and yes even here on GameSpot), to the point where I begin to look at a) how quickly it becomes a 'used' title, or b) the game is discounted by retailers to give me a better take on the game's true 'worth'.
Lol, console controller is so cumbersome for this game. For every change of skill you have to go to the radial menu! I can image how quicker and more natural will be this game using keyboard and mouse.
the main character seems way over powered. Also, I wish the AI was able to detect you if you're just hiding under a big ass table (ie 4:21). as long as playing with a higher difficulty fixes that it should be an awesome game
The number of ways to approach this game are staggering, I'm really looking forward to trying out the plethora of options.
The stealth gameplay seems to deliver a much more gratifying experience where you'll truly experience the game world and everything the environment has to offer. However, I don't think it will work unless they have a truly compelling story and set of characters backing the game. Why take all this time playing stealthily when I can just as easily go in guns blazing and achieve my goals, and do so more quickly? If the story and characters are great then I'll play stealthily, but if I'm disappointed or disinterested, I'll just go in hacking and slashing until the game is beaten.
I'm definitely getting this game and definitely playing it through at least 3 times with the different playstyles.
BUT I can see Possession ability breaking the game.
It makes it way to easy and I see it as the only ability needed to do everything.
I may add a 4th play through only using Possession, a knife & a crossbow
Please ARKANE, the game looks great but change the door system, it's very important in stealth games. ... doors should not be just OPEN or CLOSE. I like more a progressive "opening/closing" doors system, like in Amnesia, so that you can partially close or open a door.
I would rather have this with a 3rd person option. That way you can see more of the environment around you. But this still looks like it's gonna be a good game.
I' m definitely gonna play it as stealthy as possible. Finding the best and safest way in, then trying to stay in cover and finally planning an escape is so very much intriguing. Can' t wait!
this "posses a fish and enter the building" thing bugs me.... he entered the building as a fish then PUF he is in his own body again... It's as if he teleported himself... I don't like that. When you possess something or someone your body remains in a place where you possessed that someone or something.... You can't just magicaly materialise from his body into your own again. (I know it's stupid to ask for logic in a game which involves possession and magic, but this just doesn't add up)

@i_like_pie123 I thought that too. I guess he didn't do that because he was in the body of the guy. So if he made the guy jump off the ledge he would also be falling. Even if he got out of his body after he jumped, he would still be falling.

@antonio151 I agree, im sick of playing what i believe is going to be a realistic stealth game, and having it be overly simplified. If hiding in a corner thats dark, or being able to sprint though halls without garnering attention is allowed, count me out. I will probably be playing this on "very hard"
I actually like that. I'm a huge fan of overpowered characters, whether it be Max Payne, The Darkness, Prototype, Infamous, The Hulk, etc.

Apparently in this game when you possess someone it's more than just mental and you actually Shang Tsung yourself into them and control them. (Check out Shang Tsungs fatality from MK 2011 if you have no idea what I am talking about.)
