i was looking forward to this games realease BUT i now find it`s being realeased in 3 chapters(rake in the money)but if it needs 3 chapters then so be it BUT NO LAN SUPPORT are they mad.I then hear to my complet horror!! THAT THEY WILL BE CHARGING TO USE BATTLE NET.What the hells going on. when i buy a game i expect to be able to use it`s features. If this kind of gravy train mentality continues i suggest users unite and show software companys who the boss really is.I really really am saddend by this turn of events(pig sick)I for one i will not be buying this game if these rumours are true.ps i have been literally poking about on computers since the zx81 era and computer architecture and processing has rocketed on. It`s so sad games companys have gone slowly backwards in there processing!!
When it's done? Why cant they just tell us the release date so we have something to look forward to?
All the Doodads looks excellent. That Lava Based map (Char or Red-Stone) looks great. It reminds me of one of their original Map Setting scenarios where SCVs need to get x amount of minerals between 5 minutes intervals of explosion on low ground level.
"starcraft II is scheduled for release...when its done" Iam almost sure others companys would have realease the game as it is now, but Blizz want to make such an epic game, iam sure they will, its hard to wait till a release date come out, but at least you see how the game grows with each vid that came out. those guys are not loosing time :3
el greco. if you feel so strongly about this game not being good, just dont buy it. Dont play it. and miss all the amazing fun millions of other people will enjoy because this is sure to be one of the best games of 2010. I for one cannot wait.
It's pretty greedy of Blizzard to take out lan. SC1 used to be our top lanned game.... This NEARLY makes me want to ignore this game.
I sound hurt? Great observation. Yes, it's because I am hurt. I think any longtime fan and supporter of Blizzard would be by this point. Go school yourself a little bit on this company's history, and then come back here making comments. Blizzard had released a new title every single year since 1991(or at least every 2 years if you don't want to count the expansions to their three main IPs as stand alone titles). Ever since 2004 hit, all that changed with the emergence of World of Warcraft. It has only been WoW expansions ever since. Sure, the game was a great mmo for the first couple of years. But as a genuine, stand alone computer game now, it is weak and pathetic. WoW marked the beginning of a huge stagnation in Blizzard's quality and rationale (unless you count their financial agenda). The bottom line is, there are 6!!! years now since Blizzard has released any new titles outside of WoW. And with the release of Starcraft 2 the fans will get what? The same game broken down into 3, over the span of (6) years?... Anyone that doesn't sense a stagnation in innovation here or financial greed whether it's from Blizzard itself (WoW has poisoned the company) or Activision (these bastards have changed Blizzard's "when it's ready" to "when we tell you to") is either stupid or too immature to understand how the world functions... people like you who like to regurgitate phrases that you’ve regularly heard such as “After a decade of amazing, top quality games, I trust Blizzard.”
@el_greco as long as each game has the quality of a full game rather than a third of a game it cant really be called greed
Awwwwww _el_Grego_... you sound hurt. After over a decade of amazing, top quality games, I trust Blizzard. If you want games released every year, go buy EA.
Loved the original Starcraft! Blizzard games have always been one of my fav's so I am sure that the next Starcraft will ROCK!
"If we would have went the route we originally wanted, we would have had this interview in 2015" / the game would have been released in 2015. ..........What a bunch of bull**it! I don't know what the hell's going, whether it's Activision's influence or not, but Blizzard's becoming too damn greedy. What the hell are they going to do with Warcraft 4 now? Will they split that game into 4 for each race as well??? And yeah, as Flapjack pointed out, I wouldn't be surprised if they went that route with Battle.net. That might be a possibility, unfortunately... If that ever happens though, I think that we should all just take a piss on their games from now on... it would be fair reciprocity.
Mark my words, they could have had this game out Summer 2008. They decided not to because they want to make more money off it. Even splitting it into 3 games was not enough cash for Blizzard. They will make it Battle.net required (which will have a crap "free" service) or a $15 a month 'gold' service for it. Its all about monthly fees and corporate greed.
I thought the short haired guy was actually going to pass out at one point. :D Thats what we like to see, hard workers in the games industry. Never played thefirst but I am very interested in getting this. :D
the tired look on their faces makes me happy cause theyre prolly working their ass off perfecting it :) I do hope the 2 expansion stories after that wont be charged at a full game.
starcraft 2 "cinematic opening" movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSjRXI5XHw8
Out of this whole interview, my attention was on the Zealot movie... He kicked some zerg ass... ^_^ where can i find the movie ? hopefully i can upgrade my PC till "it's done" xD
"When it's done"? I don't know whether to rest assured that the game will be that much more kick-ass, or simply punch you in the mouth for being a smart ass! Although I have no doubt it will in fact, kick tremendous ass.
At least there is for sure one game developer that still makes quality games, probably because they dont have to worry about $$$.
Damn you Blizzard, Q2 2010? OMG, oh well, i can assure that the wait will be worth, i'm sure that it will be worth, because the game looks fantastic, truly fantastic.
Lol Starcraft 2 will release when it's done....I do expect SC2 to be massively awesome if they are dividing the game into a trilogy. @bpc17: those seem to be just part of the single player campaign, but logic would state that those are some temple guardians or such.
about 50 seconds into the video there are these crazy protoss looking units, does anyone know what they are?
