the more Blizzard delays the release dates of starcraft 2 and diablo 3, the more customers they loose ... their plans don't seem to work that good ... whatever the consequences ... I love both of these games ... and hope that they'r coming sooner ... maybe they'll surprise us :D ;;)
Gotta wonder what production costs were for something like this. I mean you can almost bet that it is going to be released in perfect condition. I'm guessing at least 40hours of gameplay for each box, plus BattleNet time which is potentially unlimited. You can still find original Starcraft peeps online.
i dont get this; when they say starcraft2 going to be a triology, does that mean the game goin to be shipped with 3cd into each with it own story, or does it mean have to purchase each one on its own??? if so, it seems like blizzard is really trying to milk every $$$ they can from us.... mean while watching gamespot review , they mentioned they removed LAN from the game.. really?? if so; its going to lose out on its replay value among friends.... it was one of the cool thing i loved playing in the first starcraft.. i understand what blizzard wanted to do to stop pirating... but not everyone wants to play on bnet.... well im gettin sick of all these games getting delayed... wasnt this game suppose to be out last year? and now it might be delayed til next year again? gezzz stop announcing it, til your sure blizzard....
they just want to make money because in the original SC you can play all the stories for each race, why make 3 separate games when you can just put it all into one? unless of course if the stories are long enough then yeah i have no complaints but if each story is short then i don't see a point in making three games
If the beginning is the same...and the ENDING is the same...then there can't be a whole lot different happening in the middle. Just say that it's a set story that you play through! That's fine!! But when you get the make 'choices' and those 'choices' don't really make any difference, then those 'choices' don't really make any 'difference' and so the whole thing should be scripted. Seriously. InFamous was kind of like that. All the choices you made changed how the game played while you were playing it, but in the end none of it mattered other than trophies and a red or blue sky line.
The way they explain it to me it sounds like you should be able to buy the first one when it comes out, and I hope its less than 50 bucks, but also that if the multiplayer is the same I could see them doing a download only addons for the campaigns that are cheaper like 10-20 dollars and still have more expensive store copies or or release the second two campaigns with and without multiplayer at different prices, so that way we dont end up paying 90 bucks, its not a we need money thing and then everyone is way more happy. I could see it all being about 60 bucks just because consoles are getting away with that price point. Although with Blizzard suddenly losing money due to the closing of Chinas WoW servers for almost a month now I could see them debating how to price this.
Why they saying ... all these ... instead of " We need money , and we need alot "... I mean , nowdays there are 8GB DvD out threre , or even games with x2 Dual layers in price of 50-60$. If by any means they do this "trilogy" with prices over 25$ each.. its a rape...!! And i bet each game will be AT LEAST 29.99$...x3 = 90$ for not include 1 or even 2 more dual layers for the "full" trilogy?... Pfff
Oh I forgott! the games looks really sweet anyhow! :) (I even think they done the Zergs alot better in "Swarmology" then DoW2 has with its tyrranids.)
Ok this is good. if each of the 3 episodes cost 1/3 of a normal full-price game. Otherwize this is just "profit-maximisation" covered in "sweet-talk-to-the-masses". What do they mean they couldnt put multiple endings in one game if there where many different campaigns in ONE game? how will this change with three connected games that all play together in multiplay online? Weird. But hey! its Bli... Bli... Blizzaaard! ;)

It said in the interview that there would be only one ending, at least for the first two, because of the need to get the end of the game to match up with the beginning of its sequel. So no multiple endings except for maybe the last one.
@ DerekLStinson: lol... more like 200... with side missions or else it wont be enough for paying for 3 games to get 1... @ Raoji: i totally support your comment! @ lolzman2: wait what? world of starcraft was some lame joke on world of warcraft and starcraft ghost was just a shooter for consoles... not a mmorpg... bloody nubs! @ matt2kvx: aha, they are so sad ^^ @ soulhunter91: i'm most likely not gonna... i dont support re****ed companies, like microsoft, sony, dell and nintendo. so i'll probably find some other way for the starcraft 2 singleplay fix that i need. @ soulsofnightmar: i can... diablo 3 is another story tho... giff me!!!
well... if they want me to buy the same game 3 times either they must make them all rather cheap or make each game single player part like 200 hours long. or else they can forget about seeing a single penny from me!
Oh God this is terrible news... Blizzard is notorious for slow releases. Now we're going to have to wait forever until we play the complete SC 2. I think it's just an excuse for them to make more money... Like they're strapped for cash.
wow, this game will be great, and anatars, I gave your posts thumps down, how about that :-D, but you have a point though this voting system is stupid
^^ i gave all other comments thump down and gave myself green one stupid comment voting system Good Game BilazzardrdallizZzZzZz....
i feel something, noticed something looks like DoWII for Me Dunno.. But i like .. and can't want for my lovelu DIABLO
saxxxon01 world of starcraft(also known as starcraft ghost)was going to be released but it was canceled so dont worry about it anymore just play regular sarcraft games
wow these gmae looks awsome i cant wait even thought starcraft old i still love it cant wait i got it pr-orderd at gamestop can wait BABY!!!!!
You guys need to understand something here, Blizzard has yet to disappoint myself with any of its titles so far, so why justify judging them now? Clearly it's going to be a much larger scoped game, hence the BRANCHING STORY. AKA Multiple Endings maybe? Look forward to it. It isn't a money grab, it's their way of saying here, play it now while we work on the rest instead of waiting...
Nice bit of spin by Rob Pardo, but didn't seem to offer any solid justification for selling each campaign as a seperate game. Not sure if profit-maximisation isn't the real reason. Why sell 3 campaigns for the price of one game if you can get away with selling them as 3 seperate games? Loved Starcraft 1, but that was pre-WOW Blizzard. Will have to wait and see on this one. In the meantime, Dawn of War 2 is looking pretty interesting...
I'm hoping each campaign is going to be massive to justify splitting the game up. If not, let's hope player's arn't expected to pay full price for the second and third parts. IMO this is just going to be a cheap money-grabbing technique, but maybe Bliz is going to proove me wrong.
i think its a lil greedy aswell but i think it iwll be for the better. means they will concentrate more on the campaign, i mean iloved sc1 but the campaign levels was FAIRLY repetitive. one campaign per game should mean it will be a fantastic campaign full of variation. literally cant wait to play it, the one game i can play with my dad :)
blizzard rules starcraft rules even the first game is still played at some gaming nights - still one of the most balanced, intuitive rts action games ive played the production quality of this game looks great - beautiful animation and a bright new style if the first ones are anything to go by, sc2 and d3 are the only games i need to buy in the next...like... 10 years LOL :)
Yeah cool, have they said just once this a good way to sell 3 games instead of one ? The difference is huge ! What is unbelievable is that it will work because they good enough to make such market plan work. Awesome company, and great video game makers. But a liitle bit greedy no ?
To all of you saying "blizz wants money" - or course they do, so what? Think about it - Starcraft. It would sell even if it was a lame, stupid game. They are doing a incredibly polished game (just think about the development time) and are giving us more single player content. You'd buy 2 expansion with 2 new units and a little stupid anti-loreish campaign presenting those units anyway, so stop the crap and enjoy.
I dont know, I actually just played Starcraft, the two minor expansions Insurrection an Retribution, and the official expansion Bloodwar. I'm replaying the first one to relive the storyline and prepare for Starcraft 2. I can't believe how much has changed since then. The graphics, sound, and gameplay was horrible. This is when people rated it a 9 out of 10, lol. But I guess that's what was on top back then, lol. After playing it again, it was very hard to bare. Heh, the sounds were annoying, the music sucked, and the whole terrian voice set was annoying, lol. I just got done watching the interview and some demo's on Starcraft 2. I heard the same terrian voice set as in the first game. What the hell?. I cringed when I heared those same loud annoying voice sets, lol. Lately I've been playing all the latest games out there. I dont want to be reminded of an old Windows 95 game again. I want fresh new ideas, new voices sets, new sounds, slammin techno music (something futuristic), and new gameplay. I know nothing was final, but I sure as hell hope they change those voice sets up a bit. I just got done playing World in Conflict and I had a blast. If this game is anything less than a game thats been out awhile now, its gonna bomb. The demo did drag me in on the entire gameplay, so I don't think it'll be a disappointment. World in Conflict's gameplay, sound, animations, and music were simply genius, however the storyline blew. I don't know about you, but I'm kinda burnt out from the whole WoW build your unit type game. I mean how many games have we played with the same theme? Games like Mass Effect knew how to combine Roleplaying and Firstperson and make it a unique game all around game. Starcraft 2 seems to have it all. It's great that there's some difference from the old WoW and first Starcraft, but I just hope it's a little more like World in Conflict when it comes to creating new units and calling for reinforcements. As much as I love the story line and reading the Wiki info, I hope the gameplay and graphics are as good as World in Conflict. I'll be very disappointed if its anything less. I mean this is a game that comes out a few years after World in Conflict. There's a similar type game called Demigod coming out, and IMO, it looks a little better. I'd like to see more emphesis on adding more animation to the units and environment. I'm just hoping that the same repetative attacks over an over wont make the life form units look retarded. You can get away with machines having a repetative action, but not lifeform units. It should have more attack animations for certain units IMO. Something similar to Diablo 3. Oh and btw, I just downloaded the Diablo 3 demo, its not even out yet, lol. For as long as they've been talking about making this game, it sure doesn't look like a bombshell yet, but it does look interesting enough to play. It might have a good storyline, but I don't want to see videos and clips after a mission. I like the cammand bridge part of the game, it's similar to Mass Effect. They should have made the game itself the video too, similar to NWN2. Having different camera angels switch around would be awesome.
"the reason why we made it a trilogy is because..." we wanted to milk the hell out of the game because we are money hungry blizzard.
I am sure SCII will be great. I personally love story driven trilogies so I am all for expansions that add story and depth to a game. I am sorry for anyone who thinks that games are only about graphics, voice acting and online shenanigans. The most memorable and best games in history are ones that had great stories and game play not graphics and online play. I believe the biggest fault in Bliz games are their lack of story and depth and I am hoping that this will not be the case for SCII. For those who think that 40k invented this sci-fi genres, take a good long look in a mirror. You are just as guilty as Bliz for using those ideas. Games like D&D and book/movies like LOTR were around long before they were stolen by SC/WC or Warhammer. Hypocrites are worse than thieves.
Vicsporche: Well said man. Blizzard has always put all the time and effort to giving the player the best game possible. And when it comes down to it that is what a video game is. Its a game first, and visual entertainment second. If you look back at the history of Bliz games you will see that they have always made games that are on the low end of the Tech Scale. Why you ask? Because only about 5% of the populous has the top end machines...so why limit yourself to selling 1-2 million copies like Crisis, when you you can sell closer 8-12 Million copies to everyone who owns a computer. Its simple numbers. And its about running a business, not catering to fan boys who moan about wanting better graphics. kingfuzzball01: You are just wrong! The movie Aliens 2 also uses the term Space Marines and James Cameron didn't get sued. You cannot copyright two common words and sue anyone who uses it. If Blizzard named their game "Warmace 30,000" and had all the stuff it does, then GW might have had a case of copyright Infringement. As for Blizzard being copycats...well...all they have ever done is taken something that was done before, and made it better. Dune II >>>>> Warcraft Angband>>>> Diablo C&C>>>>>>> Starcraft Everquest >>> World of Warcraft Just keep this in mind. If Blizzard hadn't made the games the way they did, what would your games look like now? Would they have the polish? Would they have the simplicity of controls and use? Everyone copies from everyone else...its how we make things better.
Wow man you ppl are complaining about a trilogy and their trying to take ur money. Dude seriously, no there not. You have two options, your either want to play the single player to its fullest, and you'll get all three. or, you buy the game just to play online. Which will have all the factions anyways so u aren't forced to buy all three. Secondly, he doesnt mention it, but i guarantee that you will be able to play skirmish mode with all three factions as well. Yeah i do expect the first game to come out to cost $50, but the other two, since it only basically carries the single player, and will act as expansions most likely (like most expansions) will cost $30. Big deal. This whole graphics thing, honestly i could care less about graphics, i mean sure their pretty, but game play is what it's all about, and plus with SC2 at least if you dont have an advanced high tech PC, you won't have to worry to much, b/c they basically took SC and made it 3D, w/ a few added graphics, which is perfectly fine w/ me. I have other games, like crysis, bioshock, etc.... to test my graphic card and my PC. I highly doubt he was referring to dawn of war by saying space marines, or w.e it was just a damn reference since, idk their marines, and its a scifi game bout space, i mean who knows. stop whining, For the most part i have to say, blizzard has always upheld to their promises, and always deliver a great game, and i expect nothing less, I'd rather them take 10 yrs make a game with 1 or 2 patches, like SC was, then a game that needs 50 (exaggerating) patches like CoH.
King fuzz, people will never take you seriously with all those caps. Oh wait lol they prob will never take you seriously since your a moron fanboy.
what idea is Blizzard supposedly stealing here. Space Marienes? As a reader if the 40k Universe. Starcraft is NOTHING like it. Anyone who says they are, are just proving to be idiot fanboys who dont even read the material they are supposed to be fans of. When there is a space military, guess what there will be Space Marines. I guess our military will ow Gamesworkshop because they called them Space Marines first. The zerg are similar to SOME of the aliens in 40K, but those are also ripoffs of the HR.Giger Alien. So get off your pompous high horses. 40K is a dark satanic space world. Its a mix of demons, gods, magic, and Scifi. Its nothing like Starcraft. Also WOW didnt steal from warhammer, other than the same basic fantasy elements that Warhammer stole from D&D and tolkien. So Gary Gygax is truely the father of every RPG in existence. SO lets just whine for now reason that every RPG ripped off Gary Gygax - The creator of Dungeons and Dragons. Your like a dog chasing its tail with this arguement, so free the hamsters from the cage in your mind and stop trying to be cooler than everyone else and live a happier life without the sarcasm please.
well im get starcract 2 new campin i paly frist part 2 way back send 203 my cusin not like star war tell the end i love starcraft fan paly like iwas 19 oild good games
