blizzard has the rare talent for giving enough info to keep you interested, but still stay vague enough to not give any REAL info about their games
@boctober Thanks man, I appreciate that. I didnt know they have a matchmaking system like that, so Im leaning now more towards just picking it up.
@grim0187 I know how you feel and what you are talking about. RTS games take time on learning all the aspects of the game. Learning the units, the characters, the maps, the upgrades, etc. But, Starcraft 2 has a great match system for the multiplayer. My suggestion would be to play through the single player campaign first. Enjoy the story, learn the maps, learn how to build and setup everything and learn how to rush attack with your troops. Once you jump online, you can start playing against other players that are evenly matched with you. So, being new to RTS systems, the online ranking match system will pit you against another person with the same learning curve. Once you get through 50 matches or so, you will be vaulted to the next level and it will continue to get harder as you play against better competition. Starcraft 2 is truly one of the best games to play. Matches can last a good while, so be ready to sit and go at it. I encourage you to play this game and the first Starcraft. Getting a strategy guide for this game will help out a lot. You can dig in and learn from reading, but apply that to your game and learn from your hands on experience. Hope this helps you out. If you want to play online, add me to your friends list (asskickula).
WoL was pretty good, not amazing(that goes saying for the campaign, multiplayer is pretty flawless). I mean a number of the characters were fairly weak and the dialogue was predictable. But the choices you get to make were interesting. This better not delay diablo3 ANYMORE or I'm giving up on activision/blizzard
I really want to get into Starcraft, but Im aprhensive about jumping in. I know its a multiplayer focus game, but I dont have alot of experience with PC RTS' and dont want to be matched up and get dominated 5 minutes into a match.
WTF Kerrigan looked much hotter in human form in Wings of Liberty. Doesnt even look like same Kerrigan but a black girl version of her....
I will make a review when I get the "full game".Possibly when it is priced "correctly". P.S. What is it now?You are adding RPG elements to RTS ?Wow Blizzard you are such douche-bags .After 10 years of wait basically you came up with saying :"Look guys we didn't actually develop anything really worth buying.Just living off the legacy of the first game!" :)
haha easy on Dpl420, guys. he's entitled to his own opinion. as ignorant as he is as to what starcraft really is to the gaming community and what blizzard has done for the industry, he's still entitled to his rants. its funny if you think how little he knows, but he can rant. hehe
@Dpl420 Billizard dosent milk game series for profits, There one of the few compaines that spend the extra time to make a great game, its the only company I'll buy games from without thinking "will this be bad" I'm not happy I have to wait a couple years for each game in a sereis but I waited over a decade for starcraft II I can wait another year. Know what your talking about before you start ranting. And yes I'm a fanboy.
@Vince21C did u play Starcraft 2? The end of the game she gets cured but from this prieview she still maintains atleast some control over the swarm.
Nooooo...... Why did they make Kerrigan human again.... She was so bad ass as Queen of the Blades... Blizzard, your story staff disappoint.
Wish they did the Protoss expansion first and not the Zerg, especially when Zerg is the least played faction.
Guys play Sims Generations(stupid advert), and GTFO from this preview :), nobody is interested if you play SC2 or not go play W3TFT(its awesome game) and don't whine here;D Everybody knows that Brood War was awesome, stop being ,,douchy''. StarCraft II is better in so many ways than SC 1, graphics, mechanics battle, net etc. balancing takes time as it did in BW(about 2 years!!!!) Story is good enough i didnt cared about TOSH and OTHER NOT THAT GOOD CARACTERS i just went for the main plot. Only thing i need to admit is sound in BW it was better and that is it. BTW i expect a lot of TL;DR
the campaign in WoL was surprisingly bad... and the multiplayer skrimishes were fun for a little while but i'm not investing like... full time into leagues as if i'm pretending i'm getting paid for it. SC1 had a way better story, as well as WC3 and WC3 TFT. The custom games on both were AMAZING because the map editor was easy and fun to use. SC2's campaign sucks, the combat is old and boring, and the custom games are sub-par b/c the new map editor is way too complicated. I'm actually going to reinstall WC3 TFT after this comment. I'm not buying this game. enjoy your rehash
@pinicolaroxa Posted May 31, 2011 4:53 pm CET This is what i'm talking about Warcraft 3: Two new races 34 missions, all races All missions matter Epic Story Epic Characters Starcraft 2: Almost one new race 27 missions, Terran only Some missions have no purpose on the main story Generic new characters (female scientist that want to save people, nerdy commander, dark secret assassin) If the others games are expansions so WOL must be considered a full game right? +1000
Max needs a new shirt...preferably one that actually fits him. As for HotS, it looks awesome, though I never had any doubt. Can't wait to play it!
Let's hopr this campaign is more interesting than WoL, the multiplayer is awesome but the campaign doesn't compare to broodwar.
Yes another delay on Diablo 3 so they can put more expansions out for another IP. 3 IP's for this long and more expansions for just 2. Diablo hasn't had any updates since 2001. Starting to sound like another Duke Nukem.
@Dpl420 You'll be the only loser left behind then without the next starcraft. Go to your mommy and cry about the price instead of complaining to a community that you're broke as joke; no one cares. But for us hard working individuals, I'm pretty sure 60 bucks here and there for a blizzard game is okay. After all, I would give every hard earned penny into any anticipated blizzard game, no matter how much the cost. Blizzard doesn't fail, but your comment did. gg.
@la-leyenda Sigh, its gonna cost the full price of a game for what I have heard, plus its a full campaign so for me its a full game on its own, sort of like GTA IV LaD and TBGT, thats what I meant.
Man I wonder if Diablo III will come out in multiple parts just like this so they can milk the money cow...Still quality stuff dont get me wrong but geesh.
I don't think Blizzard really wanted to share the info they just gave. I had to turn my volume up high just to hear what the guy was saying and many times his voice became soft and very uninteresting. This preview seems more like a response about the video leak that happened than an actual preview.
@Dpl420 SC2 is meant for multiplayer. The single player campaign was short, but I rather pay 60 bucks for quality over quantity.
its stupid how everyones so excited Starcraft 2 WAS SO SHORT waste of sixty bucks so they can come out with 3 individual starcraft seques WHAT CRAP they just wana milk the money out of it Screw u blizzard i want NOTHING to do with your games
