@deal266 Look, my comment purpose was referring to the jinx people put on games while saying its going to be a wow killer. However from my perspective, we shouldn't compare new mmorpg's to giants like wow. At least not in the start. We should wait and see how this game evolves and maybe in a year or two, and then we will see how much we can compare Wow And Swotor and I do have high hopes that Swotor will rise to the top. If you meant that then you agreed with me.
@deal266 lol are you stupid, read my comment again douchface. I said that this wont be a Wow killer. Actually i don't care about Wow at all. However i don't like it when people say that games will be the wow killer like AoC or Warhammer. They both failed. I actually don't like most mmo's however i have high hopes for this one
@ZackMack43 wow wont die from this i mean it just came out with a new Expansion its not going to die...it just wont
I dont think its going to be wow killer, i dont think bioware is aiming for tht. however, I who never bought and played an mmo rpg is buying this a first. Im buying it because i love Bioware and i know they can make great games
Bioware finally confirmed spaceships, they held out on it so long I was starting to believe it would never be apart of the game and they said a "robust customization" even better with "warzones" pvp and ships will be player housing. This game is looking amazing with each visit to the main site. I hope this ends up being a WoW killer
@ wolverine_97 I figured it out. They are putting ads before the videos now and I have AdBlockPlus installed and it was stopping the video from starting. Had to turn it off.
they promised real story-driven mmo, lets hope they make it right, or is it going to end like a every grind mmo!
Spring 2011 release, hmm perhaps? That is what the mysterious card enclosed in the DA Awakening expansion box, was all about? Unless there is more than one product being released at that time? Bioware going to blow people's socks off ..if that is the case. ^^
Hmm spring of 2011? I dont know thats only 1 year out. We will see one delay of at least six-months if not one-year imho. I bet we don't see it till 2012 at the earliest
They should make a Star: Wars movie, with the amazing graphic style that the cut-scene has! It looks so nice!
NICE! Spring 11' I obviously wish it was out NOW! But thats not too long to wait. I've already been waiting for more than 3 years.
@tapper101 Same, I get this all the time now, the circular loading bar will get like, part way there, then stop indefinitely.
"wow, loox almost as good as a bowl of mashed potatoes!" Mashed potatoes are nothing without gravy, this game better have GRAVY!
So basically it was just talking about a video thats been already out for months... Alrighty then. Waste of time.
@Petruvai i've been getting the same problem. i tried updating flash player. it didnt make a difference. what i do iscopy and paste the embed code to Notepad and Save as test.htm (or any other name but make sure you have .htm on the end) and open the fileonce saved. it should be a HTML document opening in your web browser.
Worthless video just talking about stuff we've already heard about. Come on Gamespot, stop being so lame on content update.
they've labeled the video wrong. im on a page about the 2003 game SW:KOTOR not the mmo the old republic.
Does anyone know of a reason why I've been unable to view Gamespot videos in the past few days? Videos on other sites are fine. Thanks
sounds like it maybe epic if you design it right....mmo s suck..realtime gameplay rocks...servers suck...but as a single player gamer i would rather play by myself like republic commando...that might be something to think about...a demon souls kind of gameplay where if you want to play with everyone you can but you can also play by yourself.....also reading scripts is so back in the day...im hoping for full voice over and cgi movies to move the story along and not repetitive quests, over and over again like wow,evercrack,etc....ex: go get 5 apples bring them back to me for 3 gold....lol....boring.....and you know that if you make this game great it will be bigger then wow.....i hope it works out for you
@SDSkarface I'm a pure PvP'er in EVE and I agree with you that killing someone in the so-called PvP in MMO's such as WoW, Warhammer and Age of Conan is worthless. You respawn and run back into the fight with no consequences at all, apart from the annoyance of having to run back. The high consequences of your actions in EVE is what makes it's PvP the most tense I've ever experienced. In fact EVE has made PvP without consequences so uninteresting for me that I've started making characters on PvE servers in other MMO's. I will probably do the same in SW.
@SDSkarface I disagree, the deaths in pvp in eve caused you to lose lots of experience and the ship you spent all your money on, making it the most irritating effect ever. Something similar in TOR would just really annoy me, i am quite content to just know i'm better than the person i killed.
I'm a bit tired of seeing this same video for every single informational clip. Where's the gameplay? New footage of the game itself? As awesome as that trailer is... it would be nice to see something new.
this game needs open pvp regardless of lvl and death penaties for dying in pvp, and to be able to communicate with all the other races and classes would be sweet too, part of the reason i didnt like wow, aion, warhammer after you own someone in pvp the death is meaningless they dont suffer a penalty and you cant even talk smack to them afterwards. they need to make this game like Lineage 2!
This wont go well ... Quote this.. This will be another Warhammer online where in 2-3 years max will struggle with subscribers and online active gamers to do things. And no , im not excited because of a CGI. Show me the real deal
if this is Kotor I & II balanced for MMO styled gameplay, then I am sold. Kotor I & II were both great star wars games (actually they're the 2 best star wars games) with a variety of play that involve jedi powers or not. The hackers in kotor were just as fun to play as a jedi/sith.
Choreographed combat while not necessary will be such a nice addition in any MMO. It's great they are going to include it in TOR should make pvp look much more realistic an immersive.
I'm really looking forward to this... I hope it's F2P but probably not... or one-time pay fee that's fine also.
