This review has an inaccuracy, the only reason why the ground mission felt "clunky" for the reviewer is because he was using the default control setting (which can be attested by the way the character and tank moved in the video review). There is an advanced control setting that allows for more accurate and fast movement on the ground mission, it is a matter of getting used to this configuration to attain better results.
Man the people playing in this video SUCK. I mean really, even my four year old lil bro, can do better than that. Oh yeah and BTW the ground combat was the best part. The reviewer lied!! :P
good review. This game really isn't all that bad. It tried to offer some variety with the ground combat.
@penpusher Yeah, I heard that SF Adventures was more of "Adventures in furry land" than a decent SF game. More thought actually went into adventures, it's just that the plot and characters were thrown in at the last minute, and thus failed.
@thebrickster007 ahh i see, ok then in that case I again must recommend assault, its not as good as either the original or even SF64 because it concentrates a little too much on dodgy on foot sequences but its still good and the bits where it concentrates on the real starfox gameplay is well worth the price you can get it at these days :) Adventures is alright if you can get it cheap to but it still isnt starfox really, infact it was originally meant to be a totally new IP and rare and nintendo just stuck the starfox team in with tiny bits of combat tacked on between worlds... :(
@penpusher I already have SF64 and Starfox SNES, but I recently got a Wii and need to play at least one of these.
@thebrickster007 if you really must go for one of these rather than the original or starfox 64 then i say assult is the better one ... adventures is alright as a game but if you took the fox team out you wouldnt even know it was a starfox game...
Not sure weather to get this or Adventures, I have this nagging feeling I should get this one though. I get Krystal either way ^^'
Nintendo is....DS is better then N64, Gameboy is better then NES and SNES, GC is better then both, and Wii is better then all....unlike the issues we have with ps2 vs ps3, and Xbox360 vs. ps2....
I only played the Star Fox 64 and this was one of the best N64 games !! I did not played none Star Fox for th GC but I'm waiting one for the Wii
Well to date, we have Lylat Wars on N64 and Virtual Console and two Gamecube games Star Fox Adventure and Star Fox Assault. Also counting the Super Smash Bros series. The only thing missing is the SNES game Star Fox. If only Rare was involved even on the Wii version than it would be worth it. Nevertheless, this is close to a modern sci fi shooting game than anything else. Alex Navarro will be missed.
My only wish is that this WAS a remake (to a certain extent) of Star Fox 64. The TPSing was just clunky. ...Still can get may kills without dying (due to difficulty with controls) though.
