lol so now the Iran. Do not have enough guts to deal with them so just developed the game..please make some game which shows how corrupt your government is.
Since you can play this game any way you want, I am playing the game old school first , than the run and gun.
Screw Mark and execute, kill in motion, etc. I am gonna play the game old school extreme stealth style! Splinter Ce; has seen way too many changes and it just ruined the core for me, they should go back to Chaos theory which I thought was the best in the series.
Problem, Ironside IS Sam. His voice is what made that character. Without it Sam is just another genero joe schmo. I mean seriously can anyone say they would have found Sam as compelling if he sounded like your character from Alpha Protocol?
Next issue....uugh Splinter Cell you got reeeal Ug..bland. These games are nothing special anymore. They dropped the unique sandbox stealth gameplay and replaced all that with...quick time events, do it for you gimmicks, and post Gears of War generic third person shooter gameplay.
i am sad that ironside isnt the voice of Sam anymore, but he is getting old and wont be around forever and no one can force him to do it. know onto splinter cell, it looks really good, i like the killing in motion mechanic and it looks like the same type of gameplay i loved in conviction
I want to see a game where it's Sam Fisher vs Agent 47. I mean, of course when you hear someone say that you're thinking "That sounds dumb." But I think if it's done correctly, it would be amazing.
It's a shame that they changed ironside on other hand the gameplay looks awesome. But why are the cut scenes like that. looks low
Pshhhh...so many other stealth games coming out. No michael means im done, I LOVED HIS WORK. DONE. Ubisoft will never get another penny from me..only series I liked of theirs
Not only the voice of Sam Fisher isn't his anymore, not only that the new voice guy strips away Sam Fisher's "though luck, i'm coming for you" personality, but it sounds so phony and generic. And it's not even placed in the past, like a young Fisher. No, it goes on with the story from Conviction. The news that Michael Ironside isn't involved in this game just depressed me. It's like watching Total Recall, but with that punk a** Colin Farrell. Wait, they're doing that, aren't they?...
So I understand Ubisoft reasons of motion capture and some sort of explanation. Okay then, let's make a poll: everyone knows how it is to change the appearance of an icon, but would you fans have chosen a remake of Fisher with Michael Ironside's face (even at his age, lookin' quite the healthy man by the way) or this voice fiasco?
Their reasons for not having Ironside are fine, but trying to pull a James Bond and just outright replace Ironside with a younger actor is in my opinion a mistake.
As previously stated a smarter idea would have been to introduce a new character, people associate Sam Fisher with Ironside, although I suspect a lot of people would have found that to be equally unpopular, damned if you do damned if you don't.
Boooo this man Booooooo this no Michael Ironside im done with this series man the last 2 where terrible but at least Ironside made them better.
It's going to be tough replacing Michael Ironside as voicing Sam Fisher. I'm nit buying his reason for getting a new voice actor. Sounds like Michael Ironside wanted more $, but Ubisoft wasn't willing to pay what he wanted. That's too bad.
Is this the AnvilNext engine (Ubisoft's in-house engine)? It looks BAD compared to Assassin's Creed 3 and Watch Dogs.. weird..
the game looks awesome!
I just don't understand why character faces and cut scene animations looks 2009
I just dont get why they didnt let sam be the guy behind the comlink and have a new guy as the playable character instead of making an already established character look sound and play younger...
"Keeping all types of gamers in mind" thats what i liked in his interview. So its my choice to play in old fashioned SC or play in new way. I enjoyed SC Conviction and im sure this will be even more better then Conviction.
Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. After a stream of awesome Splinter Cell games from the first game to Conviction, and now it's got no Michael Ironside. I can tolerate the invasion of stupid Kinect, but no Ironside? Uh-uh. I certainly hope Ironside left of his own accord, maybe sensing that the series was about to go seriously downhill.
Has anyone thought of starting a petition to Ubisoft to bring back Michael Ironside?
I can forgive the streamlining, and even the lack of real stealth. But I cannot abide the lack of Michael Ironside
god... some of it looks pretty cool... other parts waayyy to scripted and stripped of player skill. They've stream lined the hell outta this. :/
Why it looks like they has been focused too much in the execution thing!!
In conviction was in a balanced level, but, it looks like the game is based on this "facility", and it loose gameplay (jugabilidad) and sence!!
I'll probably go through the demo of the game before I truly have any decisions on whether or not I should play through the full game.
I was skeptical too at first, mainly because of how action-oriented the reveal demo was, but after hearing more about it I have been put at ease. They have said that many of the traditional elements will be there and that you'll be able to play with either a stealth or action approach. I don't mind them including that as an option to appeal to a larger audience, as long as they are providing ways to play the levels steathily as well. Now, Ubisoft, get Michael Ironside in the studio to record his voice for this game! The wonderful thing about video games is that you don't need the same person to do the motion capture and the voiceover work, and most of us fans feel Ironside is essential to making it feel like we're controlling Sam Fisher!
Even though it's not technically "Third Echelon", I'm liking the return to the more classic "Sam in a suit with a pistol and his goggles" look for the series. It's no Chaos Theory, but this game looks fun in its own right.
i really don't understand why this is becoming a fun game, it seems like the guys developing don't respect the title they have in their hands, this is NOT splinter cell. i rather go play mgs4 or some pre-double agent sc releases
this game looks like a hell of a lot of theres no doubt about that, wish that they had called this super agent man and not spintercell though, id love for both this and a traditional CT splinter cell to be released, maybe one day...
To a certain degree, the last game "Splinter Cell: Conviction" kind of did that (corrupt U.S agencies, corrupt officials, etc).........
Also, go and play "Spec Ops: The Line" if you want to see really corrupt/immoral U.S Military at work......
@bragart good question
@pudsley It would have made more sense. And to have a great success, the new guy must of had an awesome personality, like Ezio was to Altair, Like Connor is to Ezio.
@MathMattS I agree, it's not Splinter Cell without Ironside as Fisher.*weeps*
Stupid move on Ubi's part, they cold have at least closed-out Sam Fishers story for the fans and brought in a new character to replace Sam/Ironside.
Here's the petition...
Hopefully with enough grief from fans, they might just have to think about changing it.
@Saintofwar Then you need to play Chaos Theory. Its still the purest SC game to date.
@bragart ps3 pc and 360
@iusedtoworkhere A petition, really f**king hell, why are gamers so lame, cry over anything like little bitches
@iusedtoworkhere I doubt it. I watched a youtube video where they explained why they switched Ironside for...Eric I believe his name is. They do all the character animations and talking combined. Like the interrogation scene for instance is mocaped and while they do that the actors record their lines. And that ladies and gentlemen is why we won't be getting Ironside...unless they magically decide to scrap that idea but I doubt it since the game is probably too far in to scrap and start over...we'll see. I still remember how the old Conviction looked before they scrapped it. Here's hoping!
@OHGFawx one of my top 10 games of all time and definitely the pinacle of the splinter cell series
