My only hope is that Ubi' bring back the ability to move/hide bodies, a major missing component of 'Conviction'.
y all yall tripn? yall should of known that this game would have major changes to it. no game stays the same. i bet the game is still going to be fun to play . Im getting it. ima true splinter cell fan.
This is not the Sam Fisher I remember. He used to exist only in the shadows, 'shoot to kill' was usually the last option you would consider. Its like they fused Hitman Absolution and Ghost Recon Future soldier together...
I'm sure that a lot of people will enjoy the game. That said, I'm now finding myself getting bored looking at the demo.
For the record, simply not having Michael Ironside on the game is probably enough to keep me from buying it anyway. That said, what video I have seen just isn't close to making me change my mind.
Ubisoft, if you can't get Ironside in the game, don't call him Sam Fisher. This is about as bad as when George Clooney played Batman.
I'm a huge SC fan and have been playing since it's creation. I agree, with my love for stealth that the approach they have taken over the last few titles wasn't the best. Though watching this video and having read up on the game, I get the feeling it will play much more like the very first splinter cell with some nuances.
@adamomars obviously Sam Fishers movement is similar to Etzio or any character from the AC series. First off, same developer generally speaking. Secondly, considering the success of AC and the familiarity many Gamer's will have with the movement/ climbing, to use some of the same mechanics is just smart on Ubisofts part. Your just a hater.
Was I the only one who enjoyed Conviction? Either way I am looking forward to the next installment in the series.
the first was best, pandora tommorow was good. after that it was down hill. No Fischer climbs like Auditore...that's lame.
I agree, they are pussyfying SplinterCell (and not only SC), but this at least looks better than that Conviction crap. I played that game for about half an hour. It might not have been a bad game (can't really say), but it was not what I have hoped for. What I mean, usually when I bought a SC game, I knew what I was getting, and I liked what I got. Conviction changed that completelly.
To go a bit OT on this, the issue here is (and not only in terms of SC series), the developers are trying to re-invent the wheel. I'm all for polishing, adding on, updating, upgrading, but don't change that what works. You can give me a SC 1 gameplay mechanics with new story and plotline, and I'll be a happy guy. I don't need bullettime kills, tagging enemies and "tripod" flying cameras or whatever do they call those.
While panther and assault were a hell of a lot quicker than the ghost approach, I know for a fact that the ghost approach will be the most rewarding and the most fun.
The problem with this is that it still looks easy. There is no denying that Convicon was an easy game. As soon as you got noticed you just hid behind a crat or something and you where out of harms way. This game seems to be just like that as well. Don't get me wrong, it looks cool and awesome, just......easy.
"If you get caught all hell breakes looks" Yeah, so what? All I need to do is jump out of a windo and I'm in the clear. Or even easier, siot behind a box and pick every dude off one by one with easy headshots. I hope the game will be more difficult than Conviction.
I'm glad more games are taking the unforced approach to stealth. It's one of the main reasons I enjoyed Dishonored so much. Definitely looking forward to this. Being able to fight my way out of any situation if things go bad is important to me. Total freedom.
Never played splinter cell, but I know a good game when I see one, and this is definitely on my radar
i pre ordered this game already... i wanted to get the editionn that gives you the aircrafts so i pre ordered this game when it first was release... i hope people who pre ordered this beautiful looking game gets a sam fischer's statue, that would be sweet. i always have had loved Splinter Cell games because you can get to choose to do it stealthily which i always loved bEcause it presents more of a challenge and i love challenges.
Helirotors and QTE's? Well atleast your also bringing something good back that has been proven to work, like stealth and nightvision. Imo Chaos Theory was perfect and one of the most successfully made games ever.
yes a stealth game not just an option but a legit stealth game, the game play, sounds and atmosphere all feel so stealthy looking forward for this game.
BEAUTIFUL, FLUID, SLICK my my....... splinter cell just keeps looking better and better with every video.
That was exactly what I've expected from Conviction, although it was awesome as well.
Definitely going to buy it on the first day out
@SergioP or Christain Bale playing batman
@revenantjj No, i liked it too. People over look the fact that you can choose how you play. It made it easier to survive if you make a mistake and get caught and also made it accessable if you wanted to go assault instead of tactful. Thank you and i thought i was the only one who liked it! My only complaint here is that they are making Sam more youthful and with a different voice and they introduced an other american splinter cell and what happened to him after conviction?
@boags24 Sam Fisher isn't supposed to be a sissy...he's supposed to kill people. Non-lethal ftl...
They're pussafying Splinter Cell. First they remove the torture scene...then they show off a pacifist sam fisher? Ugh this splinter cell game is going to be garbage...
Good point. I actually wondered whether he was exposed to light in that video, since there was bright light reflect on Sam.
A noise/visibility meter would definitely make it easier to avoid light and making noise. I support noise/visibility meter idea.
thank you, i don't understand all hate on Christian bale's batman and i can go as far as saying he is the best batman of them all. Keaton was good but his personality wasn't dark enough, then George was just an apology.
