Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 - Announcement Trailer
An announcement trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2.
Episode 1 was lame. I bought it immediately when it was released. So disappointed. This actually looks much much much better. I'm impressed and not just by the graphics
I think Sega should do Streets Of Rage and other Genesis titles the same way. New graphics with old engine. To bad Sonic CD was not remastered.
I am fan of Classic Sonic and Modern Sonic games. Yes, there were bad games, but just because there are does not mean Sonic games are bad altogether. I am glad Sega did not give up on Sonic. This is a good example of rising every time you fall.
Sonic 4 is good. Different style to the old school Megadrivegames but still a nice take on the old style mixed with some of his more modern games. If your looking for a more classical style of game play then I suggest getting Generations.
@FooleyAnimator7 While I agree with you, I feel like your jumping too far ahead. They need to fix sonic first. IDK how they forgot how to make him. It just mind bogles me. I mean it's not that hard. When he jumps, he spins. it's how he attacks. not jumps then dashes into the enemy. while I like the homing attack, I hate that he is vulnerable in the air. It makes for much slower cautious gameplay. Sonic is about speed. I hope they fix the sonic issues. I DL'ed Sonic CD on my phone, and Sonic 4. I have to say CD is way better. but theres times I want the homing attack.
Wait a second, when exactly did Sonic go bad? I'm reading in here and everyone is saying Sonic 1-CD was his good days. That would suggest 3 & Knuckles was bad because CD was made after 2, not 3.
@FooleyAnimator Amen brother. I am so proud of sega for bringin back the sonic we all know and love, and from what I hear they are gonna fix everything that was wrong in episode 1.
I absolutely love Sonic beyond reason. Been a fanboy since Sonic the Hedgehog back in 1997 when I first met him on Sega Genesis. Sonic Adventure solidified my "fanboy-ness" and Sonic Adventure 2 just made it stronger. But, despite my love for this blue beast I couldnt help but notice that after Sonic Heroes Sega started to go a little downhill..... But it brightened my soul, after quite a few years, to hear that Sonic Colors got him his first good reviews in a while. And then Sonic Generations..... Blew my mind away.... However, although I am happy that he's making a comeback it is bittersweet. Because I feel like Sega now only focuses on Sonic. I mean it's all fine and dandy, but at the same time I DO miss playing with Knuckles, Rouge, Shadow, Tails.... Hell even Silver and Amy. Perhaps, if the make Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 3 we will be able to play as Knuckles once again. And also, in any other Sonic game after that we can grind rails with Shadow.... Alls I can do is hope Sega starts to focus on the other characters again.... Hell maybe even give Tails and Knuckles their own game.... And remake Shadows game.... Because suffice to say.... His first game was a total fail.
I'm just glad they're making it at all. I really thought we'd never see another episode... I'm always happy for more 2D Sonic.
cool i liked episode 1 but it was quite hard compared with most sonic games. i look forward to playing episode 2.
Hmmm.. As much as I love that little blue ball of fluff I've moved on :( I hear Sonic and I just think of a dead hedgehog with Sega desperately trying to revive the thing using CPR.
Glad Sega finally woke up and decided to give the fans what they really want and that's Sonic in plain 2D form, none of this 3D crap. Just seems like everything went downhill after Sonic CD and it's a damn shame that it took Sega this long to realize it. Episode 1 was pretty good, but just too damn short and Sonic Generations was awesome! Episode 2 looks promising so far with the return of Metal Sonic and didn't expect Tails either. They sure are taking their sweet time with this though.
I can only hope they took most of the things the fans wanted to be in this game and implimented it. Heck I am not wanting anything mindblowingly revolutionary, all I want is the tried and true gameplay, mechanics and physics that made Sonic 1 - Sonic CD the bestselling games that they were. I have no problem with them updating the graphics to meet todays standards (even though I prefer the smaller and rounder sonic over the skinny sonic) as long as it is in the same artistic veign as the older games.
