I don't think you guys are giving this game much of a chance. There is a lot of use of cover, people go down quickly, wide variety of weapons, and lots of different environments to use them in. I really feel that the developers are on the right track for making a shooter that rewards teamwork and tactics more than silly heroics and Die Hard-esque shooting. Other than that, I'm loving how bad ass these player characters look with all their gear and the sharpshooter will be a total blast with this game.
I like the sound of this co-op it's been a while since I gave Socom a whirl. not to mention I'm trying to play ps3 more :3 (and pc)
@Hortey you do realize that he had nothing to do with how they edited the video after the interview... right?
I find it funny right as he says "socom is a really realistic and tactical game" it shows the spec ops (seals?) guys shooting AT weapons at soft targets, from 20m away... then it shows a fireteam of 4 running up a corridor that is like 2 meters wide at best. While I don't doubt this game will have great coop, its leaving realistic in the dust and you're going to have to have more open levels to keep saying "its tactical" with a straight face. Maybe I'm just too old for the franchise, I am old enough to remember when levels had stealth, choice, and required planning. Old enough to have watched the franchise die a slow death, then get resurrected as an abomination.
Every time I see this game I get more and more excited. The Co-op play looks very fun and I like the thought of making your own co-op campaign I just hope they also include some offline local cop-op because I hate it when games only include online co-op ad no one calls them on it but when they include only local co-op it's counted as a negative.
it sucks that it won't have split screen, i don't want to play with someone like a kid or a person who just got off cod and start comparing. i hope down the road which i doubt, to see split screen. looking forward to this socom.
I'd like to see an updated review of MAG. I was on the fence before and heard they made some changes, though not sure if those were significant/make the game great. But a super refined version of the idea of MAG sound awesome. As for SOCOM... I dunno. Looks almost too much like the old SOCOMs to me so far.
