Nezerik, it looks like Tony games, because the only difference is that Skate plays smoother, in a more realistic way.Tony games are more arcade style, where you can do impossible things and gets billions of points on sick lines, Skate works with the realism of skateboarding
its not just rodney mullen that can do a darkslide.... geoff rowley... chris haslam... and other pros too. Rodney mullen is just the most well known for this trick. If youre gonna throw a fit about it at least know what youre talking about
Never really played a Skate game but this one looks pretty kool. But the only thing is that it looks exactly like my tony games.
who the hell cares about darkslides there cool and its giving you a opportounaty to see how that would be like on ea skate games and if your gonna bi*** about,go f*** yourself cause its not changing
last post.ne1 else want 540 flips.ive seen mike mo do a 720 so 540 flips shouldnt be a problem...and more nike sb's or custom colors
btw skate isnt meant to be a realistic game,it just feels more organic but it isnt meant for it.some of the gaps are hella unrealistic.plus u can combo a line just like thps.ive pulled off 15 trick sequences b4. skate is versatile but its not realistic.you can play crazy or realistic
geof rowley can darkslide. its in a 411 mag and a vid clip on thps 2. he forms it different from mullen from what i remember.
but you must consider the fact that he *ISN'T* the only person in the planet who can nail. my mistake.
@RatchetV1 "i've never seen any skater besides rodney mullen do a darkslide." - It's a pretty hard trick to nail. However there are more skaters that can do this trick. Darkslide is a RM's original, but you must consider the fact that he's the only person in the planet who can nail it. I'm pretty sure as well he do a darkslide at 1st try. Anyway I agree with you and specially with @flanathos. Bring it on some conventional tricks and the reality of skateboarding world to this game!
I agree with you flathanos i've never seen any skater besides rodney mullen do a darkslide. also, i could be mistakened, but im pretty sure he said something about how darkslides arent like boardslides, they cant be done on just about any surface. It's a pretty strict limit. I hope skate doesnt ruin that and let people do darkslides on anything. dont get me wrong though, who doesn't like seeing new tricks? Rodney Mullen is my idol and is a hell of a skater..
oo man skate 3 now Im definitely getting this, skate 1 and 2 was really fun so I know this one should be good, although the trailer dont really show much, make it look like they aint do a thing to the game but yea definitely waiting for this to release :)
totally agree with u flanathos. In the previous Skate games it was really exciting to keep on trying that nollie tre down 8 and you feel really happy once you finally landed it. Just like in real life (i'm a skateboarder myself) I really hope that this game will lose the balance in reality/excitement. Skate 1 had perfect balance, in 2 the scale tipped a bit over to excitement (for example the Dam wich u can ollie off), so hopefully in part three they turn it back again. They might lose it....
Also, the trailer also showed a kickflip-underflip. Again, a trick that was made by Rodney Mullen and is HUGELY unconventional. I'm worried that this game is going to try too hard to incorporate unconventional tricks and lose the feeling of how natural if felt to do every trick in Skate 1. I dont want it to try to raise the bar every time, that's what led to Tony Hawk's downfall. They should try to make the game more even more natural and realistic and from the looks of it think of some better level designs that really capture the imagination instead. In other words, they shouldn't let you ollie twenty-five stairs in the next one, but better capture the rush and how thrilling it is to ollie 8. Just my two cents.
I find it funny how much people who play skating games care about darkslides. In the reviews for Skate they even mentioned that it was missing some vital skate tricks like the darkslide. To everyone who mostly know about skating through video games: The darkslide is a trick made by Rodney Mullen which few people can excecute and almost no one does for non-novelty reason. It is in no way an "essential" skate trick. It's neat, but so are truck stands, and primo slides, and pretty much anything the amazing Rodney Mullen does. But that's just Rodney Mullen's skating and is no way a reflection of what skateboarding is for pretty much everyone else.
i hope its like skate 2, but in a different setting and with extra features cause skate 2 was awesome
Man I think it's a bit too early to do a new one or announce it so early considering Number 2 came out fair recently and they're doing downloadable content for it. If they've done some major changes to it and fixed up a few bugs It would be well worth the purchase though.
i have skate 1 and 2 and they were good so they cant possibly screw up at this 1 go skate games YA!!!!
looks good, i guess we'll haveta wait n see how the team stuff works but as long as they stick to their own formula this will be a winner
Some less conventional tricks in there like the darkslide. Hope this doesn't mean an overhaul of the control system. Activision can go stick it.
I want to see a lot more cloths and board designs. And, since it's the third game out i want to see a lot things different and different for the "better" in this game. Another thing that would be nice would be 2-4 player co-op/multiplayer with a friend next to you in free play.
