omg!!! just one day left i don't think i'll get any sleep tonight i'm so exited bout this game cant. wait. .period.
man am from newcastle he try to pull that 1 off and a think a would resort to old civ4 tactics and drop a mech bot in lol a love this francise
LOVE the walkthrough.... and this game looks soooooooooooooo awesome that I must have it although I have all sorts of deadlines coming. Sid releases this thing the day before my birthday... how can I refuse...
I love this game already, and as Chai mentions below, PLEASE make a Alpha Centauri Sequel, or new standalone Flagship game, That game was epic back in the day.. Also, the 2 hour sit down with the game's producer is awesome, 15 minutes doesn't do justice... I have already pre ordered on Steam, this never happens, I never preorder games unless I know for sure they will be epic!! The countdown begins!! 6 days from now, I will be installing this game as I already downloaded it.. is there a way to legally bypass a game lock?? I wish...
Please, oh please, Firaxis, give us an updated Alpha Centauri/Alien Crossfire! It's one of the highest rated games in the history of gaming. C'mon. Do it for the fans! It would be so amazing!
:O It looks SO FANTASTIC! I've already pre-ordered this and I can't wait! Watching this video was somewhat bittersweet, though. It'll just mean I'll be less surprised at the overall awesomeness of this game when I play it for the first time. That's not to say I won't still explode with excitement.... Only 9 more days :D
Awesome video, really answered some of the things I was wondering about in Civ 5, and pushes me that much closer to preordering it. I'm not sure what the beef is with one unit per tile, but I like it from what this video showed, it just seems more natural and playable for the way my mind thinks. Looks like it's going to be another GREAT Civ game from everything I've been able to find on it. I also like the new interface, it seems like it's going to show more information in an easier to find manner, and possibly even give more information in a more simplified manner which I'm not opposed to by any means.
Really good walk-through with Peter's smooth voice and a very detailed explanations on how to control those super hexagons. I can only hope my computer can run this one.
@Slash_out IIRC, most if not all civ games have had SDI (yes, Reagan's defunct "star wars" program) defense, which is a nuclear counter-measure. I can't say if this one will have it, but I find rather likely.
@Slash_out: That sounds cool. Never seen it though. That would be awesome! Maybe like a high-tech, futuristic shield of some sort...It would be imaginative to do so. Don't know if they are willing to risk it.
@VenusTrap What? Seriously, there is no way to counter a nuke? Most strategy games have some kind of anti-nuke missile that takes some time to built but that can help you defend against it ;s.
"its a shame she declined, cause by doing so shes just brought war on herself." haha naturaly :P 2 gold is such an offer 2 xD
No more stack of doom! Up until that point it didn't seem like that much had changed aside from the tiles.
Wow, among all of the other changes, I think among the biggest is how they modified the various victory conditions! So far it looks to remain a thinking man's game with even greater eye candy! 8)
Is there a way to counter a nuke? Or if an ennemy has one he just blast your cities and it's over? :p
To all the people that have been complaining about the game being dumbed down, I hope this shuts you up as that is clearly not the case.
I was skeptical at first, but now I'm looking forward to it :D Although I don't think I'll like it as much as Anno 1404 imo.
the utopia project icon is a pyramid without a capstone! thats gonna ruffle the conspiracy forums when its released :O
