I've never played the original so this should be a good experience. I'm glad they're going back to swords, arrows and so forth. Don't get me wrong, I liked the idea of Empire Total War but the time of Swords and Bows is a lot funner than gun powder.
Any TW fan would, and should, be excited for this! This goes back to the one that started it all! Not the Age of Chivalry, not the Rise of Rome, but the bloody Sengoku period! Despite my disappointment with Empire, I am still getting this pre-ordered!
For those of you claiming to be TW fans, but aren't excited for Shogun 2....all I can say is....for shame. MTW2 is easily one of my all time favorite games. And in fact, I don't look for historical accuracy in my TW games. That's so not the point! You're supposed to create your own history. That's what the historical battles are for. Not to mention, if you want, you CAN recreate history. Total War? Total fail when it comes to some of you. Can't wait Creative Assembly...just please improve the AI once and for all.
I love the Total War series, Rome being my favorite. I hope this game isn't as buggy as the rest, especially Empire. I can't wait to get it
looks pretty, but these games have become much less about strategy than "playing with dolls" And of course dlc for extra $$. Funny that I have so much disrespect for my favorite game franchise. Though I haven't bought one since M2TW. CA, your priorities suck. Please sell this franchise.
Looks awesome, but i learned my lesson from Empire Total War aka i will wait for the reviews to come out post launch before I decide to purchase this game. It's unfortunate that this is the case, but what else do producers expect when they launch an unfinished and buggy game? Maybe they can gain consumer trust back with this title...i'm hoping so because it really does look like a fantastic game.
Similar to RTW, MTW 2 and ETW, I'll wait until mods are developed. Creative Assembly has failed to deliver an out of the box success since MTW 1. When will CA understand that the hardcore gamers who are interested in the TW franchise want realism and historic accuracy not pretty battles! a game that encourages and embraces implementation of actual military tactics shouldn't sell itself short in other regards to accuracy & realism. /end rant
Gonna get this for sure... I just hope it isn't as buggy as Empire. Gliding units in Empire battles had to be the highlight of its technical problems
Looks amazing! They have really given it their all to make this game, I can't wait for it to come out!
Ah, the game that started it all. You know what would be SO cool...is if every unit had 1-2 master swordsmen...you know, *that* guy from every samurai movie, that can cut down 10 enemies by himself...oh byeahhhh!
And people are still going to complain about the fact that soldiers will wait in line to fight until the person in front of them dies and they move up. From what I've seen in all the videos this is still present and I'm sure path-finding is still an issue as well. I'll purchase Shogun 2 irrespective of this but I'm surprised after all these years it's still a problem. Even though CA is using the newer Empire engine you'd think their "10 years" of experience would have fixed this.
Haven't missed the release of a Total War title yet, and this looks to be another essential purchase for me. Battlefields look glorious as does the Campaign map. Look forward to the storyline that accompanies it, and what the AI has in store for us budding Daimyos.
