I hope Shogun 2 Total War doesn't have as many as problems as Empire Total War... you needed a super computer to run it without crashing, which they couldn't fix. Dont Mess Around With Shogun 2 Total War!

@greasemonkey42 I agree with snake here, it wasn't as good as the first one and no where near as good as rome.

am i the only person that isnt looking forward to this game? i played the demo and i was pretty bored... i've bought every single previous TW game... all the way from Shogun to Empire and Napoleon, and this game is just the same old.. and I noticed in the demo that unit's morale breaks in about 5 or 10 seconds and they run... how the hell is that realistic? they did that with rome total war and the battles were stupidly easy. it may be default set to Very Easy b/c it's a demo but I dont know.. i just couldnt get into the game

@greasemonkey42 while medieval 2 wasn't a bad game i consider it the weakest total war game. Graphics are good and all but the troops didn't really feel good. They would always switch to "skirmish" mode in a hand to hand combat. This made breaking trough enemy infantry with infantry, even if largely superior would take a lot of time. It was the way even skirmish units like peltasts would keep firing even if attacked in close combat because the units attacking them wouldn't pressure them, instead just barely touching and dragging fights out. There was a way around this but it meant rushing your units trough the enemy and then telling them to attack, but this not only cause high casualties it only worked if your units were clearly superior.

Why did they skip Medieval 2? It clearly deserves a mention...it basically perfects everything Rome brought in

Rome Total War absolutely rocked for its time - its mods are still some of the best around too.

Dumbfounded as to why they skipped Medieval 2, Kingdoms improved a fair bit on Rome. Though I like this candid discussion of the devs thoughts during the series.

At the risk of incurring negative comments, I feel this title has come too soon after "NTW" and could have really have done with at least a year's wait (and more development). That's what brought about the evolution from "M2TW" to "RTW";. Here I just feel it is just an increment from "Napolreon". I know the fans are for it, but having played the series from thr start I feel CA could have done better. _eek now await the hait mail_

cant wait for this.... but they really should make one that is during the three kingdoms era or the whole chinese historical eras.. cause that would be long and really cool

idk I really feel like the Shogun 2 demo makes the game seem wayy too focused on the single player campaign... , which i really could care less about.. so boring
