I really hope this sells well as it'll send a message that 2D is still very much in demand. That map was 100% Metroid. 2 more days!!! This should tide me over until Batman AA comes out. That'd be great if we see more games like this over and over.
Seems like they got their inspiration form Metroid with the you need a certain upgrade to advance, which is a good thing and I love metroid. Looks like I'm going to give it a buy.
its already longer than alot of full games, let alone arcade games... and a hard copy? since when does that ever matter? someone is a tad lame... and i think its gonna be a great game to play when your taking a break from playing COD or whatever :) bring it on.
looks cool its a completely differnent concept from any other game imagine xbox live matches for this now that would be amazing
I'm surprised, this looks really good. I'm actually thinking about picking this up even though I never buy arcade games. Unreal Engine rocks.
@jporter313 aha thats so true. As soon as I had seen it in the live webcast of E3, right away I knew I had to own that game. It brings back so many memories of good times playing 2D sidescrollers. Especially Metroid of course, but this has the life of modern gameplay aspects blended in to make it an even richer and more rewarding(potentially) gameplay experience. I just hope its as much of an adventure as people are making it out to be. i will be disappointed if it's really short or overly linear. I mean I hope there's lots of exploring and upgrading to do throughout. Obviously the story and progression will be fairly linear.
wow this is insane. when he found that gold bar in the vent it reminded me so much of exploring and finding hidden stuff in Super Metroid. Thats awesome... I waited years for another game like Super Metroid in that sense. Oh and Metroid Fusion doesnt count. that game was short and lame.
As much hi-tech stuff the fringe military has, they cant detect a guy with a backpack just walked in their front door!
this is like Metroid and Contra, n a bunch of other great 2-D shooters n its also by the same guys that made Gears of War? HELL YEAH!! these guys know how to properly utilize the Unreal Engine, so the graphics are gonna be amazing too can't wait :]
I like how many times the guy says "It's not long before..." The game Its self looks ok. It seems as if the 2d/3d aspect will kind of hinder the exploration portion. not to mention the story doesn't seem like the exploring kind of situation. Oh well, could be fun.
I like the idea of side scrolling screen games, was hoping someone would make a new one some day, looks good!
the two arcade games im looking forward to the most is this and perfect dark, i already got the premium theme for it =D
This looks fantastic! I have been wanting to do a high tech side scroller in the vein of the old side scroller "Flashback".
lol the story is ridiculous, "my girlfriend was kidnapped by some para military, so instead of xalling the police or the army or whatever I will instead walk in armed with a flashlight, steal thier tech, and kick thier asses" Looks pretty fun though.
This was one of those E3 surprises that went from "never heard of it" to "I'm buying that immediately" in the course of one demo.
This may be the surprise of the show for me. Looks great! The map reminding me of Symphony of the Night is a good thing and Super Metroid comes to mind. I will be downloading this.
