re-hashed Tribes with a bit of Halo chucked in for good measure, why would i buy this game when in a month or so i can pick up MW2?
Currently playing the beta: what they didn't tell you in this vid is that you can burn in on top of people and kill them. Thats if you can manage to actually hit them. Anyone who thinks this game is just like halo is retarded. Other then wearing a suit and and the fact its a space base fps. Nothing is similar. Halo does not have... jet packs deployables. Not to mention all vehicles have to be earned. In game you earn cash to buy deployables like tanks and turrets. If your gonna compare it to any game halo is no it. I would say That the tribes series would be more accurate. Q. "How does the game keep you from deploying lots of items (turrets, tanks, commandos...ect.) all at the same time? " A. Thats easy, everything deployable requires that you have the cash to buy it. The deployables are rather easy to destroy on there own. It really takes a lot of work to just a deplyable one let alone many out at once. The commandos are automaticly spawned depending on battle field conditions. IE they are free, but they arn't a deployable. Everyone wants destructible environments. So do I. But i think theres a very good reason why they didn't do it especially on the multiplayer end. Bandwidth, and ping. Imagine coming down on a building from the sky breaking it all apart. ok now realize that all the data of all the parts and pieces locations/collision data would need calculated by the server not only that. The data would then have to be sent out and synchronized with all players on the map
mmmm... theres nothing new here!! is so looking like halo! and no environment destruction at all..... the idea is good, guys dropping from space at 500000 miles an hour... and then? same running and shooting around..... i had very high expectations on this one... but nooooooooo, they had to go on the same road as any FPS... well, good luck!
Played the 360 demo just a few minutes ago. I'm totally hooked on the game now, there is only 1 level and I ended up playing it for about 4 hours.
Looks very cool. Nice idea too about DMC Missions. Just hope it doesn't happen often enough to become annoying. Also, anyone that does not nearly crap their pants when the enemy pulls in a tank is probably an idiot. Or a commando with a RPG and alot of ammo
the game limits the number of certain items plus there is the matter of cost. u get stuff using currecncy you get for kills. some of the bigger things like the mechs cost a lot more than the smaller items like the AA guns or turrets.
I'm surprised I hadn't heard of this before now. If it's as good as the video makes it look, the dent in my bank account might get a little bigger.
Surprisingly this looks good. I had my doubts early on, but this is looking cool. The only question I have is about the limitations in deployment. How does the game keep you from deploying lots of items (turrets, tanks, commandos...ect.) all at the same time?
yeah with a bit more responsive environment it would be awesome but even like this it looks really cool hell might even become a classic like UT x)
This game seems ok, though I think it would have been cooler if something entering through the atmosphere made a bit of a crater when it landed. If this game had destructible environments it would be must buy. Imagine spawning a rocket turret inside a building and when it comes it bursts through the ceiling of the building. Hell, imagine your squad doing that. It would be awesome.
