The games sure has tearing, at first I thought it was my fault, but they actually managed to record it on the video. They can get rid of tearing just by increasing the fps cap to the monitor refresh rate, (if above you'll might get stick lag/mouse lag), and use adaptive vsync. That way no tearing, no stuttering if frames go below refresh rate, if they use adaptive vsync with fps cap below monitor refresh rate you'll get tearing everywhere, worse than vsync off(that'll give ya tearing only above the refresh rate fps).
The video looks amazing. But the attitude of some manufacturers that think they are gods gift to humanity, and say look,you'll play my masterpiece of a game,but you mandatory will have to buy the X one to play it that's up-surd.Thats black mail make it if you are fair comp.first for the 360 owners who bought your shit all these years and then move on THATS WHAT HONEST AND FAIR COMPANIES DO TO THANK ITS SUPPORTERS from all these years. Jesus what NASTY behavior.
Maybe he will grow on me but that protagonist don't have that thing that makes me care and like him and rally behind him, that likable hero look
It seems as if they were too scared to market this as a motion game, so they redid it to have standard controls. As I enjoyed Kinect Sports, I was excited for this to have motion controls. The new Kinect is supposed to be super powerful and extremely responsive, so why not give the player the choice to play either way?
Feeling much better about Ryse after hearing from the dev. The QTE-ness threw me off but now that I've heard that its not so much QTE like GoW which just feels lame and gimmicky Im liking what I see. Kudos guys!
I'll have to give this one to M$,this could very well be a totallly cool game.
I love the idea of being a roman centurion,and I wish it wasn't an exclusive title but alas....
I just wanted to take the time to say that Gamespot's coverage of E3 has been great, in their stage have been great guests and hosts, good questions and very nice presentations and it's all very user friendly in Gamespot's E3 page: it's very easy to go through what has, is, or will happen and catch it all. In the name of everyone catching up on E3 via Gamespot I just want to say THANK YOU GAMESPOT!
this game could be great, looks great ... dont know much yet about its combat system but looks promising
not a QTE? lol QTE for bonus thats what it is. every action game has been a crappy clone of batman arkham and assassins creed. hmmp.
@vongroove Depends on the PC.
@r_ruiz6047 Nothing but QTE? They are completely optional. More of a button prompt for finishing moves imo. Yes, I know it's been done before, Batman and AC also use them. But when you're fighting a large group of enemies, it's good to know who you've softened up and who can be used in a combo with a finishing move. So you can pre plan your moves and make sure you're hitting the right guy.
@r_ruiz6047 there are peoples that dont like stategy games
and honesty its abut time i see a game like this
last on i played was Spartan: Total Warrior
@btroof get it for pc
@steelmouth I know what you mean but we only got to see him for 7 ish minutes so it's hard to tell yet.
@xX_MOBIUS1_Xx It is still considered QTEs. It's just QTEs that you can't fail which isn't anything new. Even the idea of getting scored on the QTE isn't new.
@RichardTheJoker It always is. I just made this comment on another page. This should be the industry standard for E3 coverage.
@plusnminus Not many QTE's in either of them games you mentioned.....your point is mute
@starjay009 You're an idiot. Too bad the Xbox One will sell millions of units.
@Prats1993They're not QTE's, watch at 06:50, they're unlock-able combinations and aren't mandatory.
@rkzhao @xX_MOBIUS1_Xx Yea I defintiely know its been done and I understand that it still is technically a QTE but the fact that its not necessary makes a huge difference. Like in GoW having to do QTE for certain mobs and if you screw it up you screw the whole sequence and have to repeat is obnoxiously annoying. The fact that this could be an open ended combo finisher is an awesome idea. Imagine as you level you build up these branching combos so that you goin in for a 4 hit combo finisher you unlocked, you can use any combo of A,B,X,Y (upper/lower body, left/right arms) to take out context speficic threats/targets. I can imagine a better implementation of the "QTE button mash" but its all about how its done. I guess Im just hoping for more :P
@Foppe That still won't stop them, that's what Sony fanboys and MS haters do. Any positive comment about the X1 or its games will quickly be followed by a negative comment and "blah, blah,... PS4". The context of the conversation is irrelevant to them.
