Rolling in the Deep - Deep Down Gameplay Demo
Get ready to poke some monsters and break some boxes with us at Sony's Tokyo Game Show booth with this Deep Down demo!
I admit that I cringed when I heard that this was going to be 'Free-2-Play'. But after seeing some solid gameplay, I'm really looking forward to this title. The lighting and shadows are simply gorgeous, especially during the fight scene at 2:25 . The physics on the armor are amazing as well.
The ragdoll effect on the corpses is a bit off putting, however. Walk into a corpse and it just slides around weightlessly, despite being a large mound of dead, meaty flesh.
Personally, I think Capcom's take on a DARK SOULS-like game is amazing. I'd been worried when I heard it was free-to-play, but after watching this video, I'm sold. Too bad this isn't a launch title.
hmm...I wonder if we get to customize out own character or if we only play this character? I hope this is a pre-created demo-character, and for the full game-experience, we get to create and customize our own character, with sword & shield instead of spear.
What i got from this demo...
A true next gen visual stimuli from the graphics :)
A rather very dull and not so innovative game play :(
( hope I'm wrong about the latter when the Full one comes out though)
but... I don't really like the gameplay, it's not rich :/
I gope Dragon Age Inquisition wil have same graphics for PS4
Here we see an example of why game companies show off their games by having an employee play it. This guy not only doesn't know what the buttons do, he also seems to think he's got enough time to gather, keep and use whatever he finds in a vase. I really doubt the combat of this game is as simplistic, nor the pacing as dull, as this guy made it seem.
So even with next gen tech, Capcom still can't stop the weapon from intersecting with the armour... Monster hunter and Dragons Dogma have the same annoying little problem and it's purely from lazy development.
The camera looks like it still needs a lot of work, especially in the tight spaces it showed. A lock-on system will probably do good as well since it wasn't clear whether he was close enough to hit something or not. Looks pretty cool though.
A game that has a such a impressive next graphics ... for free ?! Microsoft ?!!! Are you watching this ?
Wow, this game showed so much promise for me but this video doesn't fill me with much confidence....
my only problem is the auto aim....It's pretty annoying when i want to aim i want to aim not half assed
It looks pretty enough, but I would hope the final version features some class choices that feature a little less armor and a little more mobility. I think the somewhat lumbering pace would drive me crazy after a while. Looks like it could be cool, though I'm typically not a big fan of Capcom's games.
Spear art online xD
This game realy looks nice. Ever since the dark series and Dragons Dogma these JRPGs have gotten realy epic.
Watch in awe and wonder! As our hero laboriously climbs ladders, slowly walks through tiny hallways, and carefully breaks every piece of pottery in sight!
The previous poster is spot on. The game seems a tad slow moving at this stage. Of course it is early development and still has a long ways to go. From this demo it seems to be leaning toward a demons souls style of play, carefully crawling through dungeons. I heard this was a spiritual successor to Dragon's Dogma, but from this video, I am having a hard time seeing that. Dragon's Dogma had really amazing combat. In comparison this seems slow and clunky. We will have to wait and see.
I'm looking at this game more as a Tech Demo than a "free to play" title. It's pretty but boring as hell.
@turretx7 nah.. Panta Rhei;Capcoms version of UE4 XD
@JimmeyBurrows I agree with this. You would think that we'd be above having weapons floating on our character's backs by now. Another pet peeve of mine is weapons going through solid objects. At the 3:00 mark, I would expect by this era of gaming that there would be a movement animation that would have the character move his weapon in a way that would prevent it from colliding with walls.
@unseenDX I love F2P games. If you like it, you just got yourself a free game. If you don't, you have spent nothing on it, so no regrets.
@SamehH99 Agreed, this already surpasses the end-life graphics of both ps3 and 360. Can't wait to see the end-life of the next generation, gawd I bet it'll be INSANE!
@zenstrata I think the Dragon's dogma comparison only came out because people were hoping it was Dragon's Dogma 2 when the very first teaser was released. Other than that it's nothing like it.
