Still bad as the old version. I admit it the fight was good and the pictures too. But still not having RE 3 magic, RE outbreak (but without poison percentage and I mean it!). In this version all you have to do is shooting, all I'm missing here are puzzles. I believe that any person have played the old versions of RE he or she feels something is missing.
I see now. Sorry about that K-Rider95. I was talking about what I was seeing in the Gold Edition. My apologies, my ignorance can get the best of me at times. I was reacting from what I saw at first glance which was Jill & Chris on the cover of the Gold Edition when Josh and Jill are playable characters in it.
Being in a position where you may not have this problem, it is very difficult to see where I am coming from. @RedWings05: Please take the time to see that I am not saying this is racist. I KNOW Capcom is not racist, but I do believe that the developers from all companies have the potential to be very ignorant when it comes to these things. But with the army being having many Blacks and Latinos in the military, why don't we see that representation in video games? Can't tell me that the video game developers that make these war games don't know that, because they go straight to the armed forces in the U.S (and internationally) to seek guidance in the development.
first and foremost, I never said or implied that this game was racist. I simply made a statement. This statement being properly represented is very important to people, and in the VG world, we don't get that often enough. I respect Rockstar for doing what they do, but surely you don't think it is enough for one company to do so and be happy with it. There are other games out there, more companies who could do so. I didn't show any discontent with Chris' actions throughout the game. I expressed my discontent with the industry and how minorities are rarely represented in a main/positive role. Also you say "yes they could have chose a different character for the game but no one else would have fit that role who is black." Shouldn't that tell you something? They've created characters before...Why not again? And what "Role" are you mentioning? Your comment about coming up with my own game is, at the most, humorous. It's not that easy to pitch a video game idea to someone who does not have connects. How would you like it if there were no TV shows, Video Games or Movies that you and others like you could relate to? And if there were, they are portrayed in negative roles? It doesn't feel good when we are not represented well and/or treated as if we don't exist. Though it may be entertainment, we place very large value on the media because of how pervasive it is. I take it you never experienced these problems. Maybe you're the privileged one. Look outside the box for a minute.
@Lou_Menace, I don't get what the deal is with people caring so much about Chris being a white guy in Africa killing a bunch of infected zombie people. Yes most of them happen to be black but guess what... they're in Africa! Chris is from the very first game and was white, yes they could have chose a different character for the game but no one else would have fit that role who is black. That's why they made a new partner who just so happens to be black just so everyone would be happy. Surprisingly it didn't work though, nothing ever seems to be good enough now days. I doubt most gamers out there even thought about the idea of it being racist at all, at least I didn't until I read about it. There are times when ya choose your battles and this is just not one of them. If you want a game with a minority as the main character play the new GTA4 games or GTA San Andreas. Hell maybe just come up with a new game idea and try to sell it to someone. Anything other than complaining about games that are already made because they might offend you. Welcome to life, it's offensive.
here we go with this racist stuff... who really cares what the character looks like. someone else will complain about black people shouldnt be shootin black people in a videogame. its a videogame who cares
@Lou_Menace, no anger on my part. I do understand what you are saying about PoP. i also agree with you about better representation. I'm just asking if would clarify the part where you said about two playable characters in the original RE5. the mass society to me is a bit nervous or timid about what they should like and don't like, including gaming. I remember people (who ever they were) was complaining about the premise of RE5 because characters (they were referring to Chris) was killing blacks and it was based in Africa. Without a true explanation can always result into a bad understanding.
@K_Rider95, I was talking in response to what another member said. I'm not implying that lighter skin is bad. What I was saying is that, the Prince of Persia may be turning into a white individual. And if that was to happen, what would they be implying? To RE5, I wasn't talking about this new one, but the original. Sheva isn't the main character, it's the white male individual who is. Although she plays a large role in the game, she's the Robin, and Chris is the Batman. Video games and movies play a large role in society, providing entertainment to the masses. And the gaming masses don't consist of just white and Japanese individuals. Some people may think I coming off as a racist, but I assure you, I am not. I just like the idea of better representation. Better representation being having minorities play more positive and playable roles. I hope you understand.
@Lou_Menace, i'm not understanding when you said the two main playable characters do not represent the game in africa. are u talking about the original RE5 or the gold edition. from my understanding, the jill/chris mission is in a mansion that is not in africa. the original RE5 is shiva and chris, where shiva is african. when you said prince of persia is getting lighter skin, the first thing that popped in my mind was you are replying that shiva is not representing africa cause she is light skin. I personally know a few africans that are light skin.
Jshaw, I understand what you mean (I think). But I'm glad at the fact that these cats placed him in the game. Couldn't see how the game is based in Africa, and the two main playable character do not represent that. It's all about profit with cats, they don't care about proper representation. If they could only see the effects this has on society... People may think I'm thinking too much on this, but being represented properly in all forms of media including video games, is essential. Even the Prince of Persia is getting lighter skin. Let's pray that Assassins Creed doesn't go all "Sammy Sosa" on us.
