Who in their right mind would want to have to keep looking from their TV to the controller and also having to go from touch screen to buttons constantly? It looks utterly stupid and frustrating to boot. Not interested, and not even slightly interested in Wii U. I'll stick with standard controllers and games that don't require 4 hands.
Rayman Legends being exclusive for wii-u is going to sell quite a few people on it being worth while getting critical 3rd party support.
If they give game some replay value, then it will be really great. Origins was very nice, but once you finished it you didn't have a reason to come back.
This one really got me pumped! is a lot of action and craziness in all directions. I guess it would take a pretty coordinated team to go through all of the game in that fashion but is, nevertheless, interesting
I absolutely love the new aspect of multiplayer that the Wii U brings to the gaming world. For so long now, we've been playing together, but we're always doing the same thing. With the Wii U tablet allowing one person to be playing much differently than four other people, I feel that the living room experience we all remember from back in the N64 days, might finally be back again. I'm especially interested to see how the tablet is used for vs, rather than co-op. One may have an advantage over the other four, but then you just swap the controllers around. Very family game night friendly, it sounds like.
@shenkmanilya She? She who?
@RedDragonGecko Assassins creed symbol I think.
Well it is my first time seeing him... I did not know he was doing this... I came in for the game and did not understand What the hell he was doing...
That said... I am not going to play into his sick deluded fantasy... The man is ill sick... and feeding his psychosis is in it self twist and ill advised...
No mate how he destroys his body with all the hormones that do lead to health problems that is why they are pulling back woman off of the as menopause treatment... No matter the sick idea of mutilating oneself to cover the sick fact that HE is anything but a MAN it will not change any but his over all health as a person...
So I would rather him seek mental help for his psychosis than support or play a role in it.... I would rather him not mutilate his body or pumped full of drugs but do what you wish... I just think it is sick and disgusting that you would... rather see him do these horrible things to his body...
That being said...I m new gamespot and I don;t want to support this fantasy...
@cellblock1138 Why do you care so much? Instead of discussing the game and the Wii U there has to be a whole tread on this? Good lord. She a transgender alright. It is old news. Before you say "boo hoo someone is always here to defend him" I think we should focus our attention on the game not this nonsense. If is distracting as many people here claim. Go elsewhere. Her name and picture are on the video. So you know you are here to troll fuckers.
@cellblock1138 Carolyn's came out and made posts and even has videos talking about how she's pre op. Takes a lot of courage to do what she's doing man.
@DarthLod Well, if you are an adult with proper hand eye coordination, you can look either at the TV or the remote, because they are both showing the same image. Also, have you never played a proper DS game? Tons of those have you switching from touch screen to buttons.
@moviequest14 But also know that I won't boycott because they have too many other good titles lol. Nooo I only just boycott capcom cause they destroyed Megaman and haven't fixed it. They won't get a dime of my money till they right their wrongs.
@moviequest14 It makes me want to just boycott ubisoft. Rayman Origins was sick and a multi console release. To release a sequel to it for a new system that looks like a pain to play is a pretty lame move.
I don't know if you remember the launch of the Wii, but it took almost a year before they were actually in stores for more than a day (same with the gamecube launch too if I remember right). They were severely underproduced and people had to fight through crowds on shipment dates to get one whenever they arrived in store, and look at the Wii now. No good games, and a waste of money.
I won't be supporting Nintendo in the console market anymore and I think this is a lame move on Ubisoft's side. Nintendo is great with handheld's though, and I think that they should drop out of the console race and focus on the handheld aspect. This is definitely not the future of gaming.
@lazarius12 Why do people still think that the WiiU only supports one Tablet Gamepad? Nintendo already announced that it supports more than just one.
@lazarius12 All consoles support 4 players at this point. The problem is developers only make online multiplayer at this point, so there will probably never be a time like the N64 days again. I imagine the touch screen, much like on 3DS 3rd party titles will have very little use. This isn't the future of consoles, it's a trinket that's going to be useless.
@Iamshmee I can't help but feel that pun was deliberate...
@Iamshmee no mater hat you cut off it does not make you a woman... and feed his fantasy is sad....
@Iamshmee pre op?
@KokutenNagaki lol , don't feed the troll kokuten.
@Iamshmee I respectfully disagree , the system needs to have exclusive titles , and...the fact you feel the way you do (being fairly angry) shows how much you want the game...and shows just why they decided to do that , exclusives sell systems. I for one applaud Nintend for growing the balls to go our and aggressively get 3rd party support (and exclusive too) , the fact that e3's just started , Nintendo hasn't even had either of their main shows , and they already have 3 + (?) fairly ''core'' 3rd party exclusives is pretty impressive (for Nintendo ). I 100% agree it's ridiculous what Nintendo's done with intentionally limiting stocks , even several years in it was nearly impossible to find a wii board. However I don't think that that had/s anything to do with the result of wii support drought. And again it is inaccurate to compare what will happen this gen to wii-u because of what happened last gen , if anything history has taught us it's that there are often massive leaps and changes in a single generation. Sony went from being lowest power and highest in sales to one of the contender's for highest power and became (for most of it's life) the lowest selling of 'the big 3' , Nintendo had gamecube , contender for highest power but lowest in sales and brought wii in for lowest in power but highest in sales.
And yeah , I still support the Resident Evil /Monster hunter side (because the games are just too damn good >.< ) , but it'll be long time if at all before I buy another megaman game , (in regards to the 3ds megaman cancellation ) to make a game , announce it , make headlines , ask some of the series biggest fans to contribute to develop it , and then cancel it only months before the (guessed) release with a piss-poor excuse is not even something a new studio would do , much less an ''experience'' company like capcom.
@nini200 Actually Nintendo hasn't announced support for additional tablets. Gaming websites have had it on their wishlist for a long time and, when contacted, Nintendo has said they are looking into it, but it has not been mentioned yet. They may still bring it up sometime this week, but I feel like it would have been mentioned during the Sunday night showing of the Wii U hardware.
@Iamshmee Well there already has been a time like the N64 days and it was called the Wii. I still pick up games to this day to play multiplayer games with my family. You Don't Know Jack, Rhythm Heaven and Mario Party 9 were all purchased within the last few months by me.
And we really can't say, one way or the other, how 3rd party titles will take advantage of the tablet. Sure the Wii had a lot of useless garbage from developers, and the 3DS hasn't seen much yet, but the DS was said to be a gimmick at one point and it's one of the best selling game players of all time now. The 3DS library will grow over time, so we'll just have to wait and see how companies react to the tablet controller.
@Iamshmee It's probably my fault for pointing it out haha. Exactly I completely agree with you. Why force someone into a life of suffering when they can change their life for the better and enjoy it.
@Connor728 well I'm just saying I didn't try emphasizing the word itself, all in all my bad though. Same here on the support of equality, people can do what they want with their lives as long as they aren't harming others. Gender, Religious, and Racial bias can all go out the door and people should just enjoy what little time they have here without trying to control eachother.
@Iamshmee Capping something doesn't make something a pun, I was just pointing it out for you. Your use of the word "man" emphasised the fact that Carolyn is actually a man, despite your effort of supporting her transgender identity. It's just something I picked up on from the discussion. Besides I'm all for equality anyway :D
@Connor728 I didn't cap it, so I wasn't trying to be punny. I'd just assume if somebody is sounding supporting they probably aren't insulting the person.
@Iamshmee your first reply to cellblock "Takes a lot of courage to do what she's doing MAN." You didn't have to put man at the end, it seemed on purpose that's all...
@Connor728 Pun? I don't understand where the pun was at?
@cellblock1138 Honestly I think it's amazing that in this day and age someone who was born feeling like a woman has that option. Just because you are against it doesn't mean it is wrong. I've known a few transgender people in my life, and if you know there personality and weren't close minded you'd probably support them.
@cellblock1138 But it's her life not yours and your the sad one for going on about it because you have nothing else better to do. Who cares if Carolyn Petit is transgender she knows her stuff about video games and that's all that matters.
@Iamshmee ah , well I myself didn't know that and I check gamespot regularly , and I could understand someone being confused , but poking jokes is a bit .... unnecessary.
@moviequest14 Transexual, pre operation but already in hormone treatment . Think it's lame when people have to point it out. She has blog posts about it, and vids on youtube.
@moviequest14 Nintendo hasn't gone out agressively to get support. Ubisoft was the primary supporter of the Wii launch too with Red Steel, and the Raving Rabbids series and they stated they like to be on the support of a new console because the profits are good and worth it. It'd be cool if nintendo could make a full swing back to the support they received in the SNES days, but it's doubtful. Their handhelds do awesome and I'm all for it, but I'll probably wait a year or two before even thinking of picking one of these up.
Capcom went off the wagon when Keiji Inafune left and I hate to say it but I don't think they're coming back. Dragon's Dogma has my interest but I was dissapointed to see they had day 1 DLC and I imagine the content was on the disc. I liked RE4 but they've kind of destroyed the series by turning it from horror to pretty much pure action. Me personally, I've been playing Deadly Premonition and it's corny as all get out, but is still scarier than RE5 or O:RC.
@ExplicitMike I'm taking it as "...Wii sucks and they have nothing but casual games." because that's pretty much what you're saying when you say it's games are lame and boring, and built for a casual audience. As I said, opinions are opinions, but I was just saying that mine differ from yours and was trying to leave it at that.
@lazarius12 You are taking my words out of context. I am not parading the I hate Wii treat. I am stating my experience with the console. I do co-op, versus, and any same room multiplayer with friends and family. The PS3 and XBOX360 do that too. The games you mention are some of the most boring experiences I ever had. That doesn't mean my experience is the same as yours. I do what most people do with something they don't like. Sell it or let it sit there not being played. I didn't use the word hardcore you did. I didn't say all Wii games are casual games. I said it was marketed as such. Look, to me the console isn't what I sign up for. Motion controls didn't work properly and the games were lame. I am not sure why you are taking this as Wii sucks and they have nothing but casual games.
@ExplicitMike I'm not really sure why this turned into a Wii hate argument, when all I was bringing up was same room multiplayer. I'm not into co-op in games so perhaps your argument for the 360 having more "same room multiplayer" is towards that. You entitled to your opinions, but I still feel "casual" and "hardcore" get thrown around a bit too much. The Wii was designed to attract a ton of people who wouldn't normally play games, but I think it's a bit unfair to call ALL Wii games casual. Endless Ocean was a fantastic series that I enjoyed as a hardcore gamer, as was Rhythm Heaven.
@Iamshmee Yeah I know man. I sold mine at a loss to my wife's sister.
@ExplicitMike Agreed 100%. Me and my fiance have gotten 1000x the use out of our 360 than our Wii. Can't really sell the Wii though cause most people won't pay more than $50 for the console.
@lazarius12 Listen. I got rid of my Wii because It was a joke system. many others will tell you the same thing. There was no games for me. They have maybe 4 games that I like. The N64 had way better ones. The whole same room mutli player thing is debatable. I played more games on the PS3,360 with my wife and friends than ever on my Wii. If you are still buying games for it great. I am glad is working out for you. To me and many other people the Wii was a device meant to attract a casual audience and nothing more. As for the Ds. I don't play it so I have no comment on it.
@lazarius12 I'm definitely not as hardcore of a gamer as I used to be, mainly because the core titles aren't as appealing these days. I do agree though in the Wii's dying stages before the new birth they are getting a lot of Japanese titles finally brought over, problem is tmost of em are about 4 years.
That's why I'm dissapointed about this release though is because my same room multiplayer is getting slowly killed. All I have left practically is Borderlands.
@Iamshmee I'm not trying to defend the Wii's library as a whole here. I'm just saying that I am a hardcore gamer and I still had Wii games this year. And the point about N64 multiplayer was not to say the Wii is better, but that no other system is embracing "same room multiplayer", which the Wii still does. I'm excited to see the Wii U take this further with the tablet and I hope that it is even more like the N64 days.
@lazarius12 He's not talking about quantity he's saying the Wii had a whole year of pretty much all third party casual games meant for people who don't play video games. I remember it going into the local game store and all the games were published by UFO or released the previous year.
@lazarius12 It still isn't the multiplayer dedicated gaming of our yesteryear. YDKJ was a great game, and I was curious about Rhythm Heaven, but a lot of my friends hate Rhythm games cause, well they don't have any Rhythm. I gave up on Mario Party in the gamecube days, it just isn't too much fun for me anymore. I have to agree with @ExplicitMike though, Wii can never compare to the N64. The DS was a surprise but Nintendo is also the master of handhelds. I don't remember being speculative of the DS as compared to the Wii, and now the WiiU.
@ExplicitMike You're bringing up quality, but then you go into quantity in the next sentence. Which are you fighting for? And the N64 had fewer years to pump out games before the next Nintendo console, so you have to take that into account. And did you mention how I just purchased three games in the last year for my Wii? I'm as hardcore as hardcore gamers get, so those were not casual games.
@lazarius12 N64 is one of the best consoles I ever had. Please don't compare it to the Wii. They are not even in the same league of quality games. N64 didn't go a whole year with nothing but casual games.
