This game is F&&**(( Crack in a Box.
i can't help but think that with freeform movement instead of linear scrolling, this would be even cooler :P
also the movement feels a bit too fast.
In the ship part? That would kind of defeat some of the purpose the game was trying to achieve. Furthermore, Dan Ryckert played it incorrectly, although I don't think the game should give you missions in the way it does. It should just go level to level, instead of letting the player skip ahead. If you skip ahead, not only do you miss the story, but you miss important tutorials that help you learn the game.
@NTM23 i don't know what you are referring to when you say "in the ship part", i'll assume you're talking about speed, in which case, my reply is "in both". movement that fast not only looks and feels awkward, but it's harder to control. compare it to any shoot'em up (with ships or on foot) and you'll see that movement is always slower than in this game.
but if you're talking about my freeform movement comment, i just think this "get in/get out" dual gameplay style would have more potential in that environment.
Well, there's the ship part, and the on foot aspect, which is what I'm talking about, as you're referring to linear or free form. Anyways, I've played the game, and the speed is fine. It awkwardly though makes me feel like I want to go fast, but there's a lot on screen at times, and the controls kind of aren't good enough, or at least I haven't gotten used to it enough to simply speed through it; then again, you can't even sprint and shoot at the same time, which makes me feel like it's not a game about speed running unless you really want it to be. It's weird.
