Replay of the Project Spark: Enabling and Inspiring the users to make (almost) anything Panel from GDC Next 2013.
Did you enjoy this video?
Two things: 1. This makes me think of a 3d axis Little Big Planet-esque game. and 2. Are people able to create clothing/hats for their character too? because that would totally eat up the TF2 crowd xD
I think we should not get too excited about Spark. Game creation stuff has been done many times and it usually doesn't really work out as well as people hope. Even if it works well, the vast vast majority of people that try it will never put in the effort to make anything especially interesting. They will mess with it a bit and that's all.
Now, if they get a good community of creators out there that keep delivering new games to the community that might be cool. The only problem though will be money. It's likely they will keep pusing people to buy the addons, content packs, etc. Those creators could be encouraged to use new content by giving it to them free, the idea being that the masses of others who just play the games will then have to buy the content to play those new creations. I like the idea but I certainly don't want to keep buying content, and of course casuals don't like to spend money like that either.
Sounds fun, heck id take skyrim with co op aswell!
And meanwhile the PS4 gamers play Knack on their 'overpowered' console XD
im getting COD ghosts , more entertaining than this boring crap.
If you REALLY wanna create your own games, just learn how to code.
Heard its not coming out for the ps4 as you need to use your brain to play it/ create games with it.
