still using north london, london fc,yadayada wtf again. but hey, i give them credit coz i cant developt like them..grphic good but much more lacking real world face mopping plyer..good motion movement..anyway pes/we is still fun play with multiplayer..personally, i go fifa for career..haha peace
This game dissapointed me big time! I'v been a PES fan since 2004 till now, I tried the demo, but didnt like it so I went for the full game, when I bought it, it wasnt any different! I dont know where to start, first of all the faces was even worse then the previous game, it was only 19 stadiums, no rain available, I could write a f****** book of this shit! Konami you dissapointed me so bad that I'm going for FIFA 14 this year..
Having played both the new PES and FIFA, it's easy for me to say that FIFA is still much better than PES. A real shame cus I was looking forward to PES being loads better than FIFA this year, but it didn't happen. Still way behind in terms of passing and shooting, although some of the animations are crazy realistic looking, and the pace is really realistic too.
I hear it's politically muddled and misogynistic though. No female characters anywhere in the game for example.
So FIFA got an 8, and it got praised for things this game wasn't And not once was this game mentioned in the FIFA review
It's a matter of perspective here. In general I feel it is time for developers to leave graphics and visuals aside for a while to focus on gameplay made with knowledge about important elements of football related to its history, development, and essence, like the space principle. Many of those are missing especially in FIFA. They work on celebrations instead, which have no significance compared to what I just mentioned.
If I were going to get a football game this year, which I won't, I would get Football Manager because it feels closer to the reality of the beautiful game.
This would honestly be a great game if the player reactions weren't so slow relative to button presses, I mean, if they can somehow reduce the input response time with a patch I would be so happy with it, it just makes for a sluggish game when you don't have that control when you're forced to anticipate user actions ahead of time.
I'm guessing that's something they'll fix in PES 2015 since they'll have to do a lot of work with the new animations and pace of the play to get it right, which is pretty damn disappointing because it has a lot of potential on this new engine but favours realism to the point where you can't immerse due to the slow reactions.
Until PES dev's understand that the movement of the players is the main KEY to make this game PES is doomed to fail. Animations aren't bad, but all the players feel stuck to the ground when they aren't running. Just try to move players on FIFA and on PES and everyone should realize PES is waaaaay behind
Is as bad as the demo was so, no surprise here...
The player's reaction are ridiculous in regular mode.
But a patch would fix some of the major issues, i think!
Why is he comparing this to PES? I didn't hear any comparisons to Saints Row in GTA V. I did not hear Rayman Legends being constantly compared to Mario. this is in my opinion a bad review. PES has always leaned more to simulation and has a slower pace. Comparing it to FIFA is wrong. It should be reviewed on it's own merits not based on another game in every category. I can bet you that FIFA will get a way better score because of the online features alone. I think this is an unfair review and it hasn't been the first time either for this series.
SÃO PAULO for the win!! The best South American club ever!!
Other than that, great and honest review, Mark. You nailed it, congrats!
@Scarface94AS dude i agree..they cut some ingredient interface then invested it on the fox graphic..and lacking some face mopping real player than previous pes/we..feel like plying in ps2 of high graphic contains version..
@Zeke500 yes is bad, and sad, but PES is not what it use to be, I play fifa 14 in a friend's house, it was sooooo much fun, and i tell you that Im a PES guy.
You surely must either be joking, or have no clue what football is... While i hate ts years pes, fifa player movements have ALWAYS looked like crazy robots on a rampage...
@The_Last_Ride I think this review is very fair. The commentary is unbearable and the gameplay not as good as fifa. Fifa beats this game in every single category, that's why it will have a better score.
Whats so funny? Your lack of understanding of football? Or the fact that you agree with an idiot reviewer completely opposite of the general scores of this game..?
@walterg74 Ah, i find it funny that you say that, cuz its really the other way arround. And you can know that just by search gameplays on youtube. I used to be a pes fanboy, until fifa 12 (fifa 11 on ps3) :)
The commentary sucks because english commentators ( and ppl in general) are boring, and with absolutely no passion.ll sitch to the latin american comments, and it's like night & day...
@bigruss51 @The_Last_Ride i disagree, i have played both games through the years. Fifa was better a few years. But since 2012 PES has overtaken Fifa again . THe only advantage FIFA has is the online feature. EA gives them a bigger budget and they manage to utilize it in smart ways. But PES is still at least on par with FIFA. Even played the demo, it's awesome
@walterg74 my lack of undersanding of football. you, mr unknown guy have no idea how much I understand of football... and I can say that people who love footbal, know everything about the game, don't like PES for seemingly OBVIOUS reasons
You know, I see you wrote a lot of stuff, but all I see is "blah, blah blah"... Point 1) I am not american.. Point 2) you ARE boring, deal wth it. Point 3) english commentaors are SPECIALLY boring. It's not a coincidence that EVERY SINGLE SOCCER GAME year after year has reviewers saying comments suck...
@The_Last_Ride @bigruss51 Ok I have pes 14 and I agree with this review 100% The ai is very lousy. And at times the ball bounces around players feet like a pinball game. The ball does not go were you want it to especially threw balls. If they can patch this game up with a major update then it might not be so bad but comparing it to the quality of fifa is impossible. There is room in the market for both games. Fifa has a faster pace to it so both games are very different from each other but what bothers me about pes is that they are playing catch up with fifa and aren't taking the time to improve on the whole package such as goal replays and presentation overall. This years pes game feels rushed.
