I didn't play any in the Black/White series, many of the Pokemon looked awful, and I was worried that the makers were running out of ideas and that XY would look awful too. But no, it looks amazing. I'm so glad I got a 3DS. Can't wait for my Pokemon X to arrive!!! Feels like I've been waiting forever :(
Pokemon X & Y is fantastic!! I have played since the days of Pokemon Blue and Red. I think these new games are a great new step up for Pokemon series. Anyone considering getting it, Buy it!
I haven't played and cared for pokemon anymore since Ruby. The magic was lost for me. But now seeing this it flamed up again. It will be the first pokemon game I'm gonna play again since Ruby. Looks great and as many of us hoped it would look like back then on the N64 but never came to it as a RPG like this. Finally they moved to 3d. Don't understand why they waited with it so long but damn its finally here and I'm gonna get it! I desperately need to play more on my 3ds anyway since i hardly used it.
What a gorgeous looking game. I think Kevin/Randolph should of mentioned that early on in the game you also get your choice of one of the starters back in the Red and Blue days. :)
I'm guessing Nintendo didn't want early reviewers to show unannounced Pokemon. That really sucks that nobody waited until it was officially released so that they wouldn't have this limitation.
The last pokemon game I played was ruby, when I saw this review's overworld view I nearly choked on my sandwich
the graphics have improved quite a bit..
All I needed to hear was you get an experience share item that splits with you're whole roster. That's been my only complaint of the pokemon series this whole time as leveling up several different pokemon is such a grind.
@PetJel Same here, stopped after Ruby. I loved gold the most and ruby felt like a huge step back compared to what you could do in Gold/Silver. But this looks pretty great.
@PetJel don't worry i haven't played from yellow so im trying to find out how many Pokemon out now
@PetJel You didn't miss out on Diamond and Pearl. Those were a disappointment. Black and White were okay.
@devild0ogwhite I stopped after Ruby but didn't you had something like that before? Or was that just for those in your party that they earned a part of the exp even though they didn't fight? Or was that even limited to only one pokemon cause i can remember something like that from Blue and Gold.
@WolfBladeKK I actually liked Pearl better than White. White had some neat pokemon, and Oshawott was cool, but I guess I enjoyed playing Pearl more.
@dutchgamer83 @devild0ogwhite In Blue each pokemon got an equal share of the XP earned as long as you had it in your backpack. In the games after that, only the pokemon holding it and the one fighting got a share.
You also got these items relatively far into the game. It sounds like they're giving it to you much earlier this time round.
@Spahettificator I always felt like the XP share didn't help much. If anything it makes leveling slower since it splits the XP between 6 different Pokemon. oO
